People will chalk this up to Coach speak but to me, after all of the drama and failure, Saleh needs to hold himself accountable more. Everything he sats and does is to save his job. That Athletic article about the Jets organization revealed a lot about him. No Coach is going to say he should get fired but he should be able to be realistic and be able to read the ******* room a little bit.

We do this every year. They don't need $9 million in cap space to sign their draft picks. The draft picks will replace other players on the 53 who are already counting against the cap. They more than likely will just need around $3-$4 million in space depending on which players those rookies replace on the 53.

You can not put a rookie or an average LT next to Simpson at LG. It will be a disaster. They need an above average veteran presence at LT to help Simpson since he struggles in pass protection.

It's not that JD isn't willing to spend, it's that he isn't willing to guarantee that 3rd year. Look at all of the contracts he's given out. That 3rd year is never fully guaranteed. Look at the Quinnen Contract. After the 2nd year of the deal they can cut him post June 1st and save $11 million with a $9 million dead cap hit over that next year and the year after. JD always has an out after 2. But if he'd go the extra year guaranteed he'd get these guys. It's his philosophy and it's not going to change so we will continue to miss out on players that can really help us win now.
