  1. When you add the $10.7M in dead cap to what the Jets already had on the books you now have $29M already in dead cap for 2024. It’s the second most behind the Titans who have $31M, but they have $71M in cap space available. Jets now have $29M in dead cap and about $20M in space. Not a great ratio.
  2. The final “payment” will be all of the dead money that will be eaten by the next GM and HC when Aaron leaves in 2025.
  3. I’ll throw this in here because it’s a quote from Jim Nagy. But this isn’t the first time I’ve heard someone saying this. Going to be interesting to see how these later day 3 picks are valued going forward.
  4. That’s great and those picks, especially Suace and Wilson, were no brainers. No go through the rest of JD’s drafts.
  5. The issue is that the Texans and Lions are set up for long term success. The Jets, have maybe a two year window, then it will be a purging of dead money and “rebuilding” yet again. We will also likely see the exodus of Garret Wilson, Sauce, and Breece. It’s actually comical how bad this franchise is.
  6. There are guys who can do it cheaper for sure, but can they do it as well? Losing Huff will hurt this defense, I’m not convinced MacDonald will play as effectively. You don’t want to pay Huff, fine, but his play will be missed. It’s another reason why this defense isn’t a “given” for next year.
  7. I’m just glad this miserable little p**sy bust won’t be around this organization anymore.
  8. Both have had major impacts on why this team is where it is, but IMO JD bears more of this responsibility. He failed miserably when drafting Zach, his free agent signings have been pretty bad and other than one good draft has had bad results when drafting. His insistence on keep Zach around as QB2 and still proclaiming him the future was a fatal error. Deferring personnel moves to Aaron or to please Aaron was another failure. Now he has a team that has no future beyond a season or two with 40 year old QB. He’s been bad at his job, really bad.
  9. So you think this is all going to work out next year? That’s cute.
  10. Is there any question what franchise has been the absolute worst over the last decade? All those teams have some stability at QB and are set up for success in the near future. The Jets go all in on 40 year old QB with a maybe two year window. Then what? Another decade of ineptitude?
  11. Of course he wants out, so will Breece, and Sauce and any other pending free agent. Why would anyone want to be here? Unless, the Jets are the highest bidder.
  12. Agreed. Next year is a whole different type of disappointment.
  13. Getting up and celebrating when you are getting your ass handed to you is always a bad look, especially when it was a routine pass break up. Have some awareness.
