Well it is officially game day. Today we find out what this Jets team is all about. To those that didn't see it, here is our Game Preview. I hope the Jets blitz all night! j0SgBOREvb8 One more thing -- we are going old school for this game. The Jets need to Shut 'em down: LB4D-GbQ9A4 Oh, almost forgot, to the flight crew -- keeping with our old school theme -- after the Jets win, keep them jingling. XzndS93f15M1 point

How many times tonight did you think to yourself the Jets are going to lose this game? I think I did at least 3 times. Maybe more. Crushed. Heartbroken. Frustrated. There is just no other way to describe the feelings you had when the Jets watched Randy Moss grab a ball in the end zone with 1 second remaining on the clock. Luckily the Jets signed a guy like Brett Favre for situations like this and rather than the same old Jets snatching defeat from the Jaws of victory, Favre and these Jets did snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. I like women who have intelligence but don't act like it makes them the best thing since sliced bread. It seems that every woman I know what over a 100 IQ thinks that they're the smartest and greatest thinker since Alberto Einstein. They act like arrogant *******s and are usually wrong in what they're talking about. I like women who are down to earth and aren't into the whole stupid playing mind-games bull****. Saying you want one thing when you want another as a test or some stupid bull****. I like women who aren't always so high-strung. Not every problem and stress is the end of the world. Not every bump is the road is life and death. Flipping out over every little minute detail is a terrible way to live.1 point

Don't forget ,Lowery is also excellent against the run. You don't see too many db's with that attribute. He is only going to get better as the year goes on.1 point

I don't think anyone is being 'negative' right now, though admittedly, I'm skimming the board, too much work to do today. But people are raising some legit concerns and issues. At the end of the day, we were all thrilled we won, excited about Tenn and the rest of the season... but there are certainly things to talk about, how many times can I post: VICTORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 point

It could have cost us this one, but we got lucky. We needed to win that coin toss, and then convert that 3rd and 15, where we threw a 13 yard pass and Keller just made an outstanding play. What are the percentages on that? 90% of the time the reciever is tackled short of the first down, and you have to punt. I just don't know how we will ever win a Super Bowl, because at the least you have to win 3 straight games against really good teams to win a championship. We probably will need 4, and I just don't see it happening right now. It is really annoying, because this team definitely has the talent.1 point

I vote confident in Mangini. I think that there are some fair points made for and against his style and his results but here's my opinion: - While he gets ripped on this board and many others for "not showing emotion", I think that his calm style on the sideline carries over to the players. In a hostile, tense situation you need your wits about you. Dressing down a professional athlete for a mistake in front of millions of people is not a way to endear one's self to the players. - I don't feel that Eric gets enough credit for clock management. Yes, you may dismiss this as a minor issue but I feel that in the two plus seasons he's been here, he has shown time and again that he can keep his team in the game by not squandering the clock. Herm needed someone to do this for him. - While every story I have read this morning (ESPN, CBS, Fox, AP) seems to want to discredit the Jets for beating a Pats team facing injuries, the team won in Foxboro which is a difficult place to win against a QB that had a career night and limiting Welker and Moss. This is Welker and Moss we're talking about here. The Law Firm dude had success last week. How about last night? Who do you think talked Ty Law into playing? I thought it was an exceptional personnel move to have Law cover Moss so that Revis could cover Welker. Mangini orchestrated that. BTW, the coach on the other sideline was Bill Belichick and as much as we like to dismiss him because he coaches our rival....he's a championship coach who's doing more this year with less than he usually has. Mangini beat Belichick. There are no style points here. He won. Bill lost. You play who's on the schedule and whoever is in the uni. It's the NFL. -I generally disagree with the idea that the third quarter offense was too conservative. The turning point of the third quarter IMO was Cotchery's fumble. That's not coaching. That's execution. -The last drive in regulation can be criticized for not having enough pass rush but there isn't a team in the NFL that would play it differently. You guard the sidelines to make them fight the clock and the yardage. On the TD, there WAS pass rush. Bowens just missed the sack. Hats off to Cassel and Moss. It was a great throw and a great catch. They just made a Pro Bowl level play. There's a lot of criticism of the CS for playing off Moss in that situation but they knew he was going to the end zone and they kept him in front of them. In the end, Law was draped on him. I think we're nitpicking here. - I think that there is too much credit given in both success and failure and the fact that the Pats came back last night can't fall squarely on Mangini. On Watson's TD, Pace fell down. Did Eric trip him? On Gaffney's TD, you could make the case that Lowery made a rookie mistake. I'm not trying to say that the coaching staff bears no responsibility but in the 150 or so plays that occurred last night, they aren't all going to be successful nor are they all going to surprise the other team. Football is a game of momentum and the Pats aren't the Rams. The Jets came out and smacked the local bully in the mouth. Did you think we weren't gonna take any body blows? They've got Vrabel and Seymour and Bruschi. I am more impressed at how PROFESSIONAL this team is. They took the body blows in the middle rounds and executed well enough to win a must-win game. I'll stick with Eric. Thanks. My .02. You may see it differently.1 point

Well I don't know about you guys but I probably did not fall asleep till about 2:30am. That game last night was pretty much a summary of my 34 years as a fan of this team. Jump out fast: "Jets up 24-6. kicking @ss, taking numbers this game is over" to That's not good: "Rush three, and give Cassel all day to find Gaffney with seconds left in the half" "That could come back to bite us" to 24-24: "You got to be F'n kidding me to 31-24: "Favre is the man !!!!" to 31-31 with 00:01 left That hurts "Stupid G'dam, mother F'n, SOB's are going to do this again. C0ckSuckers. You suck Mangini, I F'n hate you. to 34-31: Phew !!!!! Great game There was alot of good things in this game though for the Jets. The Jets controlled the LOS for a good part of the game forcing the Pats to start blitzing to get pressure on Favre. Favre: What we got last night was just a little taste of "Favre Magic" That drive that put the Jets up 31-24 was a thing of beauty. All the momentum had swung over to the Pats side. The Jets had not been able to generate much offense in the second half, but when the Jets needed it most they got it and alot of that had to do with #4. That drive right there was the reason the Jets made the deal for Favre. It is a drive that Pennington (although I love him) could never make. And then to top it off they get the toss to start OT. Favre hits Keller on a huge 3 down to keep the drive alive and from that point they just took over. A little Thomas Jones A little Keller kick the FG, Party Time. Just a magnificent job. Defensively I thought the Jets were okay till they got the lead and started laying back. Give Bellicheat some credit here though, they made an adjustment by going to 4 and 5 wide and a faster tempo basically taking Jenkins out of the game and setting things up with Faulk, constantly taking Barton out on the flank opening up running lanes for Cassell. It was a great adjustment that Mangnin and Sutton had no answer for because they were freakin worried about Moss and Welker. Doubles on them (and I don't know if they did the entire game) but if they were they were basically putting Watson, Faulk and Gaffney in single coverage. My biggest gripe last night was that the Jets when they were up 24-6 didn't really go after Cassell with some blitzes. He was getting time to throw when the Jets rushed four and the Jets never switched it up. They let him sit back there facing a 3 or 4 man rush (I think Rhodes blitzed once the entire night) and let Cassell pick them apart. The same Cassell who has not throw a ball 20yds for a completion in what ? Forever ? It damn near cost them the game. Here is the bottom line though The Jets are 7-3 The Jets have won 6 of their last 7. The Jets are 3-1 in the divison (All three wins on the Road) The Jets sit alone in first place in the AFC East Still a long way to go, but I think this team is really coming together and that they can be special.1 point

I see what you're saying, but look at it this way. The Jets players won in spite of the coaching staff. I'm not saying that Mangini and co. are horrible, but they aren't as special as we all thought they were. Exception. Westoff is a genius.1 point

IF keller catches that both teams have a different approach... might have allowed the pats to catch up sooner... You never know... He won the game for the JETS as well... Just be happy for him... he is a rookie breaking out...1 point

He's a rookie, AS S HO LE!!!! He's doing pretty good, he's on the team that's winning! Now go dig a hole and jump in it!!! Nobody wants to hear you cry.1 point

The chicken little crowd is really tiring tbh. They try to ruin the game threads as best they can, lol. Players can't make every play, they're going to get beat and screw up from time to time. Rookies even more so. Just because Keller drops 1 TD pass and Lowery gives up one TD doesn't mean they should be cut.1 point

Do you ****ing idiots realize who we are playing?? Injuries or not they are 6-3 and playing some pretty damn good football and we are up by 11 at halftime. Even still some of you dickheads (cough cough ecurb and Irish Jet) still want to piss all over this team. **** off already.1 point

He's probably inviting them over for tea and scrumpets after the game tonight. You know the officials have his back; the Patriots have had more favorable calls in this decade than any other teams. If there's one thing a Dolphins fan and a Jets fan can agree on, it's the hatred for Bill Belichick, Robert Kraft and the New England Cheatriots.1 point

I swear....we win one of the biggest games in our teams history...the first time we are in first by ourselves since 2001. Why can't you guys just all shut the **** up? Be happy for gods sake. Magnus Malax was right on the money...there was EXECUTION mistakes by some Jet players, just as there were coaching mistakes. People praise Keller for great play, but he dropped an early TD pass. On the first touchdown, Lowery got beat by their 3rd receiver. You can't ask for too much else there, and he didn't have bad coverage it was a good throw and great execution by the Pats. On the last play of the game it made NO DIFFERENCE if Moss was bumped on the line. There was so much time where it was just him and Law sitting in the endzone. He was draped all over to him and there was plenty of time. The problem there was not sending a rush, not whether to bump in coverage. It is also so easy to criticize the Jets for poor coaching. Do you not think Belicheck had a strong game, because he didn't. -He could have kicked a field goal instead of going for it on 4th and 2. He didn't, and lost. -3rd 2 run with Heath Evans stuffed, and it was a weak call. -3rd and 1, you go spread set and throw to Gaffney 15 yards down the field. If you are going to criticize Mangini, then pick at Belicheck too for an incomplete game as well. You guys are so unbelievable. Be positive.0 points
