  1. Um, they can't. Did you read the post you replied to? Everyone can come up with the easy solution of: OK we'll tear up your current contract. In the new deal, there's not much in terms of up-front bonus money, but the contract is for 8 years, averages $12.5M, and the first 3 years ($37.5M) is guaranteed for both injury and declining skill. Even IF Revis was agreeable to that, the Jets wouldn't be permitted to make that offer due to CBA restrictions. Matching Nnamdi's contract is preposterous. But even though I still think it's way high for a CB, the reality is that R

  3. He may or may not mention JN. He may just say "That Jets website". The point is, he manufactured a controversy at ThePhins, just so he could use it for material on his show. He called out the fans to get a response. I'm accusing him of a lame shtick.

  4. Seriously the amount of hate being thrown Revis' way here over the past few weeks is utterly ridiculous. He's the best CB in the league if not the best defensive player in the game. He is a huge part of our team and until about a month and a half ago a unanimous fan favorite. Yeah he's holding out, and its his right to want to make as much money as he can in a profession where the average career is 3 years. He is putting his body on the line for the Jets every week and he deserves to be paid. He hasn't been a diva during his holdout and has stated his opinion. The biggest issue for him r

  5. of course he intentionally scheduled the surgery a month late to avoid mini camps, now he needs an excuse to miss TC oh, and he'll squeeze an extra million outta them this way as well no way he's retired, no way

  6. He doesn't need to do that for me to dislike him... a few years back, he was sitting across the aisle from me at a Jets-Giants game (Jets home game) and was running his mouth the entire time, taunting people, etc. It was a performance worthy of a beating. Beningo was sitting a few rows behind him and was visibly embarrassed by his antics.

  9. Does Troy know that Revis has 3 years left on his contract and that he did the same thing before he even step foot on the an NFL field. The NFL has pissed me off this lately, with the mega deals and Sam Bradford making more money than Manning and Brady to pusswah's like Mevi$ holding out. Its really all ****ed up right now and something has to give.

  10. So true. Objectivity is not his friend. How can anyone - ANYONE - say something negative about Troy Brown? It's not human. Troy Brown is football awesomeness.

  13. This is what i've been reading/understanding, the offers had little to no 'bonus/guarantee" money, the 'lifetime' deal they offered had no guarantee/bonuses and the 'band aid' option gave him a raise but would still pay him $5.3 million less that D'brick in 2010. I don't who to believe here, but after reading Tanny's presser yesterday, he basically skirted the question. I also don't buy the CBA argument, the Jets should've never came to Revis looking to redo his deal IMO. Texans are looking to make Andre Johnson the highest paid @ his position and he still has 5yrs left on his deal. Nobody her

  14. My #1 concern is easily Mark Sanchez and the passing game. Last year the Jets had the league's #31 passing attack, threw the ball less than any other team and Sanchez only completed 54% of his throws. All of those numbers have to come up considerably this year. They need to have a balanced offense, and Sanchez has to start hitting on at least 60% of his passes. There was definitely some good news, though, like Mark's 6.7 ypa -a very respectable number for a rookie- and Mark's poise down the stretch. Now they have to build on that. I'd spend a ton of time on the two minute drill. That's t

  18. LOL, bias? He has 15 catches in his ENTIRE CAREER. Its not bias, its fact. He is not a good NFL wide receiver, although his tweets would make you think otherwise. I understand expectations are low for a 5th rounder, but it is what it is.

  19. The level to which Coles is "washed up" has been massively overrated in this thread. Is he as good as he once was? No, but the guy still had a good year for the Jets in 2008, and anyone trying to talk about how he's been washed up for years just looks like a fool in that regard. Even last year, he managed to put up the second most receiving yards and TDs on his team. Granted the numbers were nothing spectacular, but he was also on a team with a very poor passing team. Now he's asked to come in and be a #3/#4. Consider for all the love some way to give Clowney around here, the Jets have been tr

  25. Sid, Sid, Sid... I see you're peddling your crap here now as well. Just like you did at ThePhins.com when you attacked the fanbase as "transparent" You start off with a "Hey guys, how do you feel about the season?" BS, then you'll start some kind of controversy and use it as shtick for your show. THEN you'll cry and whine for 20 minutes while Florio talks you off the ledge. Sad stuff. It's getting old REAL quick buddy. And with the Lebron/Bosh/Wade stuff making LeBatard's show pure gold right now, I think it's gonna be a tough haul for you. Sorry Max and the other mods for this

  29. But neither of them can touch Miami Dolphins coach Tony Sparano. He has lost 55 pounds since the end of last season, roughly as much as Woody and Jenkins combined and without the help of a gastric device. Dolphins running back Patrick Cobbs approached Sparano before their first training camp session Friday. "He said 'Coach, looks like you lost a little weight.' I said 'Well, I didn't lose a little weight, Pat. I lost a whole person,' " Sparano said. http://espn.go.com/blog/afceast/post/_/id/15600/sparano-would-dominate-jets-competition

  30. slats you've hit the nail on the head, the Jets don't want to pay a bonus and the simple reason (my thoery, not fact) is that the owners are colluding. They are loathe to give out any big money up front because it's hard to win a strike situation with labor when they just got a big check. They can sign Brick to a shady rolling guaruntee deal, they can give Elvis Dumervil 3 mil but one thing we aren't seeing is big checks being written... and it's not just Woody.

  31. Hey guys, The Dolphins opened training camp yesterday and the fans and media are expecting big things. The additions of Marshall and Dansby plus a solid draft have Fin fans thinking "super." Tom Brady came out yesterday and made it clear that he likes what he has in New England and is not overly concerned with the Jets or Miami. Who's the bigger threat here?!
