  1. Well, he has certainly tried to. Give him credit for that.

  2. Plus that neck also has to support his head, and there should be less weight there, also.

  3. Personally, I was really hoping that the Jets would spend a boatload of money on a qb who recently went through 4 neck surgeries, has not played a down in 14 months, will be 36 years old in a few weeks. Heck, sign the guy without having doctors look at him, or without having him throw for you. My off season is shattered.

  5. Broncos or Cardinals...either one works for the Jets. As long as it isn't Miami. The Broncos are a good fit, with that defense, they will be scary.

  6. Haha.. is that what you got out of that? LOL

  7. I think Jets fans that wanted Manning simply view him as the best possible shot for effective QB play this season. I'm well aware that he's not going to be throwing for 48 TDs and 5000 yards, but I suspect he'll have a better season then any other guy available.. including Sanchez

  8. No, I was too vague. I think he looks like a cable tv installer.

  9. As far as signing Manning is concerned, this is a genius move by Elway to not only improve his team but get rid of someone he thought was a horrible QB. Think about it, Elways having to watch Tebow play at QB is like Sinatra having to watch William Hung sing!

  10. Careful now. You don't want JiF coming after you.

  11. So, the Mets won withSantana, they can win with Sanchez, I agree.

  12. That he got drafted by a team with a defense that finished in the top-5 in DVOA (1st, 5th, and 2nd) in each of his first 3 seasons in the league?

  13. Thanks AVM. Today I will celebrate by wearing a spidey suit, doing deadlifts, and eating steak at the same time.

  15. Rusty Manning >>>>>>> Sanchez I'm assuming all the naysayers are hoping Mannign signs with Miami, since it's going to be such a disaster?

  16. It's true. What if Manning came in here and put up a season of 56.7%, 3474 yards (6.4 YPA), 26 TD, 18 INT, and 10 fumbles? You just can't justify paying big for that kind of mediocrity.

  18. Note: After 1 and 2, the remainder of the list in not particularly ranked in that order. AVM always remembers those who save his life. Thanks, Management

  19. It's a good thing it never gets cold in Denver, that they play in a dome, and have elite skill position players. Yes, I'm sure Peyton Manning is chomping at the bit to play with the like of Willis McGahee, Demaryius Thomas, Eric Decker, Eddie Royal (w/ cheese), and Daniel Fells. How ever could the Jets compete with that?

  20. Didn't someone on this board tell us Manning was going to sign with the Broncos? That was a good call. I think it was TomShane. Great job Tom!

  21. The only way Sanchez gets the critics off his back now is by leading the Jets to the Super Bowl. He could rebound and have a good year but if the Jets don't win it all he will bear the brunt of it. Even if it is for Salary Cap relief I don't know if I would have given Sanchez the extension. I saw enough last year leadership wise to really start to question if Sanchez is the guy. I probably would have waited to see if the fallout from last season carried over to this year and if he didn't step up look at getting a QB in the 2013 draft. Now does that mean I would have thrown my hat in the Manning sweepstakes and cut Sanchez ? No. Eventhough he had a mediocre to poor first year till the post season and a decent second year (Progress) and another good post season I saw enough in Sanchez ability to being able to stretch the field and pull games out of the fire (and yes I don't care if it was against teams like Denver, Cleveland, Detroit, Houston and Indy in the playoffs the fact is he pulled those games out or got them in position to win the games) to think that he could be the guy. The 2012 season was so bad that I think the Sanchez is faceing a long road ahead of him in getting the team back. The Jets FO has made that first step giving him an extension. Now it is up to Sanchez to step up and become the QB that we can pin our hopes on.

  22. So your assertion is that the secret sauce for a QB's success is a grossly overpaid has-been LG who barely made it through the next season for Arizona, a 40 year-old blocking FB who hasn't played a down of football for anyone since the Jets decided not to re-sign him, an aging RT who hasn't played a down of football for anyone since the Jets released him, and an injured WR who dropped 20% of the passes thrown his way (and did a bunch of nothing all year for Pittsburgh who made him their 4th or 5th string WR). The allegations you bestow upon me aren't anywhere near the level of your hundreds of conspiracy theory posts. Again, since when is meeting with Chad Pennington one day worthy of national news, and how on earth would anyone find out about it in the first place while the whole country is obsessively focused on Peyton Manning, the scouting combine results, and the upcoming free agency period? No reporter gives a crap what a retired Chad Pennington does or who he talks to unless they were fed the story. Like many others here, I've been a fan of this team for a sh*tload more years than Tannenbaum and Sanchez and Rex Ryan combined so don't presume to tell me what people I hate. What I hate is the Jets not winning a superbowl. In my opinion this is another freshly-paved road to not getting there. I think they (and the owner) are all well-intentioned in wanting to achieve that goal, but the same could be said for the OC they just fired as well as all of their fired coaches and GMs of years past.

  27. it should be noted that Peyton seems to prefer playing in midwestern or southern locations. Miami with it's Cuban population and Arizona with their Mexicans, that's too "urban" for Peyton. He needs to be surrounded totally by white people or he loses his power. Hence, Denver.
