  2. Maybe because the defense carried Sanchez's sorry ass for two years?

  3. How much hate there is for Sanchez among Jets fans, and how much slack Ryan and the defense is given. Ryan has been here for now his 4th season, every year so far the defense has regressed. We will see how this year pans out. Sanchez has had a crap line and crap receivers for 2 years, and is cut no slack by many Jets fans. Ryan on the other hand spends all of his time and energy on the defense, seems to only want to draft and sign defensive players, and yet is regarded as the Messiah by many Jets fans. I just don't get it. Yes, Ryan had some early success, with a ton of good fortune, but the defense has consistently gone down hill. Sanchez has shown me at least, that if given time, when receivers are open, he can be an adequate starting QB. Ryan has shown me zero to make me believe he is anything more than a defensive coordinator. I just don't get the love affair with Ryan, and the hatred for Sanchez. It's like every bad pass Sanchez throws, overwrites 10 good passes. His receivers play like dog sh*t, and it's his fault for throwing one bad pass, which EVERY QB in football does, EVERY ONE. Ryan's defense does not really fool anyone anymore, can not get off the field on 3rd downs, cannot generate any real pressure, cannot cover TE's or RB's. Ryan gets an awful lot of love for a guy who has won nothing as a Jet. Sorry, AFCC games don't impress me, SB's do. Ryan has not won one yet. For those bashing Sanchez at every turn, I think Ryan deserves as much if not more heat than Sanchez. I just don't get the love affair. I don't know if Jets fans like the trash talk, or what it is.

  4. Seriously, these ****ing guys seem to never run out of RBs, WRs or pass rushers. Every year it seems the Giants lose a key WR, and every year they add someone to their stable that has a higher ceiling that the guys that leave. Also, anyone saying Eli isn't elite is ridiculous... because as much as I laud these young WRs of theirs, I'm quite positive that Eli is a major contributor to the perception that they are awesome.

  6. Do not worry T0m. He is still gritty, has a carazy motor, and knows the defense.

  7. Couples is a pressure guy. Also, this is not a Bellichick or Mangini 3-4 where the DL are space eaters. This is a penetation 3-4 DL, plus they are showing a lot of 4-3 fronts with 97 with his hand in the dirt. So basicaly I disagree with your entire premise.

  8. This really is all a complete fan-created myth joke. When are people going to learn that having an elite QB is the only thing that separates the "great, well run, in sync, organizations" from everyone else? You know what organization people respected as this great, well run type of organization that developed picks and had a consistently good OL the past 7 or 8 years or so? The Colts. They lose their milky-way talent QB for the season...They finish 1-15, are the joke of the NFL, and sh*tcan their entire CS and FO and start fresh. Who were the Giants when it was Kerry Collins, instead of Eli Manning? sh*t. Who were the Giants in Manning's first three years in the league, competing for playing time with Kurt Warner? Before Mo Lew knocked out Bledsoe and the 6th round pick that was Tom Brady magically fell into his lap, Who was Bill Belichick, other than a glorified DC who's ego ruined Bernie Kozar and the Browns in Cleveland, and lead the Pats to a fantastic 6-10 record his first year, and a 1-3 start in year 2? There's a reason why they call them Elite QBs. They do make a pretty noticeable difference, you know.

  10. Please show me once, just once where I said Rex sucks. Please, show me. I said he is flawed. I don't think he is a good HC. I said many times he is a good defensive guy. The whole point is that many jets fans ignore Rex's flaws, and ignore the good Sanche has done. If that is embarrassing myself, so be it. Just note however that I find it embarrassing for you to blast me with words I did not use, but rather you did on my behalf. If Rex can fix his flaws and become a good HC, not just DC, I will support him. To date, he has shown me nothing to prove he will ever be any better than his old man as a HC.

  11. This is ****ing hysterical... Yeah! WTF does Damien Woody know, he was only an offensive lineman for 11 years! You on the other hand who sits on your couch eating wings and drinking beer while thinking of all the ways your gonna bash Sanchez each week, are obviously correct and have a much better understanding of the game than Damien Woody.

  13. In the 3+ years under Rex Ryan, the Jet Defense has always been and still is overrated because it has never been able to stop teams when it mattered most ... in big situations, in big games, against top QBs. On the flip side, over those same 3+ years, Sanchez has elevated his play when it mattered most ... in big situations, in big games, against top QBs.

  14. Probably because if it werent for Rex Ryan's defense, the Jets would be a 5 win team with Sanchez at the helm.

  17. Yup, the ineptitude of the Giants during the Brown era, and the Jets during the Sanchez era, to build a team the RIGHT way. TOTAL BS! I remember like it was yesterday the end of the regular season in year 4 of Eli. The Giants pulled the Bills game out of their asses by a heroic effort by the RB, I believe it was Bradshaw. Eli was HORRIBLE that game, atrocious, as he had been for much of that season. I remember very clearly the Monday after the game, I was listening to WFAN the entire day because I was traveling. EVERYBODY, fans, media, retired players was bashing Eli like nobodys business. It looked like the Giants might miss the playoffs again, and people were screaming, if his name was not Manning he would be a 3rd or 4th round draft pick, screw Acorsi for sticking him wiht us, we should have drafted Ben, we should have kept Rivers, it was brutal. Manning played well, along with the defense in the SB run, you have to give him that, but you are dead wrong if you think he showed great promise early on. If anything, I think in year 1 and 2, Sanchez showed much more promise than Eli did in his year 1 or 2, and, Sanchez was nowhere near as NFL ready as Eli was. It's amazing how people want to change history to suit their arguments.

  19. Sounds like a Jets fan talking about Sanchez. If Lee Evans catches that pass in the AFC Title Game last year the whole world looks at Flacco in a different way.

  20. The other day Rex Ryan made it apparent he was getting sick of the Tim Tebow drama. Now Cavanaugh has something to say. Thanks for hopping on the Tim Tebow Train - http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/Tim-Tebow-a-learning-experience-for-New-York-Jets-QBs-coach-092012

  21. The question of which other tailgates to visit should not even be asked! TGJ's is the only one to be attending - you get to meet a bunch of wasted Jet fans, celebrities, and me. The food's pretty damn good as well.

  23. Sony, it seems, thinks you're not a big fan of price cuts. Or at the very least, they think you're tired of trying to figure out where the real bargains are. With this week's unveiling of the Super Slim PlayStation 3, pretty much everyone thought the company would slash prices on the current, uh, "fat" model to help clear space on shelves for the new hardware. Everyone, that is, except Sony. The electronics giant says it doesn't plan to make any pricing changes -- even to the now technologically inferior 160 GB model -- since it believes customers are tired of having to choose between differently priced systems. "There's no price drop formally, but the thing that's been happening in the market over the last year or so is that there's been so many retail price promotions, and so many different gift card offers and all those things, being done by all of us (Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony), that we've heard from our consumer, 'Enough with all these weird price moves. What we really want is content and games and value,'" said John Koller, Sony Computer Entertainment America's VP of marketing, handhelds and home consoles, in an interview with Engadget. Even in an industry where PR spin can put a nice shine on the lousiest news, a company arguing that customers don't want lower prices is hard to swallow. It's unlikely that people who already own a PS3 are going to trade it in for a slimmer model with a slightly larger hard drive this late in the cycle. Sony's aiming for late adopters here -- and that's a crowd that makes its decisions purely on price. Still, there could be a couple of other unspoken factors at work here. It's no secret that Sony is in a financial crisis these days, so there could be orders coming from up high that prevent the PlayStation division from making any formal cuts. "They want to maintain the brand value and the equity in the Sony name," says P.J. McNealy of DWS Research. "They want to make sure Sony's not associated with a cheap box. So putting in more value also lets them to keep the price up and allows them to charge $60 for AAA titles." Unfortunately, it also means they've missed out on a great opportunity to severely undercut the newly announced $300 low-end price of the Wii U. Instead, Sony will offer four different PS3 models to consumers: the old 160 GB version for $250, a Super Slim 250 GB model for $270, and, crazy as it sounds, a 320 GB old model and a new 500 GB Super Slim model priced identically at $300. Because you hate price drops. That might keep the perceived brand value high, but it makes little sense for consumers. "The reality is Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo have two choices now. They can cut prices on current models or they can extend the life cycles of the current machines by adding more technology and bundling games with them. Sony is clearly in the second camp." Maybe, but it probably could have found a better way of explaining that. http://games.yahoo.com/blogs/plugged-in/sony-explanation-not-cutting-ps3-prices-astounding-165852483.html ___________________ so they won't lower the price of the inferior version because they don't want people to complain about it?

  24. Woody has been a Sanchez supporter all along. Like anyone else, these guys don't want to issue mea culpas until the book is closed. They'll just keep stacking excuse upon excuse long enough to a. See Sanchez turn it around or b. Hope people forget the original claim that Sanchez will be good if...

  26. Rex Ryan has done a fine job with our defense over all but they are still not making the big plays when they should. If thats a personnel problem and we need better faster LB's then why sign 3 defensive lineman with top picks over the past 2 years who have up to this point had no impact at all ? Which defense are we running here a 3-4 or a 4-3 ? yes its obvious Rex runs multiple fronts but the drafting shows nothing but pushing for more and more defensive lineman when we already had good depth at the position. This makes no sense to me. It did seem we were pushing for more of a 4-3 base defense with the picks we made to try and work more with the trend in the NFL of a solid 4 man rush but if this is the case once again nothing has happened consistently. If DL were getting to Ben rather than smaller safties and LB's you probably would not see as much whiffs. But once again they were playing an occupy role freeing up space for the blitz. if we are going to keep playing this brand of football thats fine but the last 2 drafts have been ignorant at best. Totally ignorant. Keep in mind Im not bashing the players like Wilk or Coples or Ellis since they are young but did we need all three with top picks while our offense sucks balls and our RB's scare no one ? Look at the god damn Giants once again plugging in a fantastic skill player at RB in Andre Brown. Makes me freakin sick. The fact is this team has been and contuinues to be terrible when dealing with personnel since Rex has arrived. I dont think Tanny has any of the power to make final decisions on draft day he makes the deals and runs the numbers and thats about it. Make no mistake the core of this team was built by Eric Mangini I think he had a great plan to build a team but his biggest flaw was the ridiculous prevent defense and playing soft on defense for the most part with that bend but dont break philosophy. Rex's agressiveness his first year was a breath of fresh air for most Jets fans and thats what lost Mangini his Job. When it comes to offense the Jets finally spent a second round pick on a WR with a lot of promise. This should have been done years ago not 4 years into your young QB's development but better late than never I guess. There were some good RB's available in FA and in the draft but the Jets elected to ignore all that and pick Ganaway in the 6th freakin round . Now tell me how do you claim to be gorund and pound and not get some RB talent in here ? WTF is that all about ? We know Greene is a hard runner but he takes a beating so whats next ? The unknown of Powell and Joe Freakin McKnight ? Really ? Paying a guy like Holmes 50 mil was also beyond stupid. Nobody wanted the guy and he had no one interested to the tune of that type of cash and thats why he jumped on that stupid deal as soon as it was presented. The bitch hit the ****ing jack pot and now the real Holmes has shown up and theres not a damn thing we can do about it. We know Hill is going to start but if a guy like Schilens starts to out play Holmes in practice you think hes going to bite into some of Holmes playing time ? NEVER the Jets dont have the balls to do that because they cant deal with this bitches personality and he will blow up this organization in a heartbeat if we ever decided to cut his playing time because hes sucked for basicly the past 18 games. Rex Ryan is NOT a good head coach at times he talks like a fan in his press conferences and to be honest its getting embarressing. Im not sure how much work this guy puts into this team on the Hard Knocks he seemed more like the class clown than a head coach. He better start holding players accountable and stop pumping up players that will only demand more money based on his ridiculous assessments. Its make or break time for Rex IMO. Of course if he gets dumped from here he will be hired as a DC in about 5 minutes and a gag ball with probably be the first 2 words in his new contract.
