  1. It's not perplexing. Pretty much every rule enforced in the NFL today is made to increase scoring.

  2. Got love it, Steve Young tells Geno "you know Jets fans back in NY are now thinking Super Bowl" Geno interupts "Calm Down" Geno out ICED Matty Ice tonight, and the kid talks to the media in the same fashion right now with Ice water in his veins, something this Jets organization needed after the last 2 years!

  3. I love Jane McManus declaring that "Geno doesn't travel well." He's now played three road games in his lengthy NFL career you nincompoop.

  4. Just saw that. "Welcome to NY Geno". We gonna hate you one week and expect you to take us to the Superbowl the next. WELCOME TO THUNDERDOME BITCH!!!! LOL

  5. They are the team that wins just enough not to be able to draft the next Peyton Brady Marino next year.

  6. Craig Carton this morning thought it was Manish, and he and Boomer both said it was obviously someone with a vendetta. I loved Rex's response, basically telling him to F Off. As far as I am concerned, Mehta, if so, can go write for the National Enquirer, who will be more than happy to publish his spaceship articles. Him and Cimini can eat a big ass bag of crow today.

  7. A burner possession WR? WTF is that? Fred Biletnikoff and Cliff Branch all rolled into one? The elusive Steve Largent / John Taylor combo?

  8. What do you expect? It's 11 years removed from Chadwick's single 3/4 of a season looking like a quality QB and he still holds the guy up on a pedestal. No reason to think he'll pull his head out of his ass regarding Sanchez any time soon. But I'm not too worried about it, because this is what we want right now. It's once Pac actually starts defending Geno when there will be cause for concern, because that typically spells doom for any QB.

  9. Nah, I doubt he be as good as Ratliff. The most he can aspire is someone like Jeff Tuel of the Bills. Tuel lit it up in preseason against third stringer vanilla defense just as Simms. Even their HC Marrone got fool, thinking he had something in this undrafted rookie. He found out against the Browns what he really had, a garbage taking a precious spot off the roster.

  11. Marty is the GREATEST factor in Geno's success and I will ban anyone that disagrees with me. So there.

  12. Fisher willingly hired Brian Schottenheimer to run his offense. That alone makes me question Fisher's judgement. At least in Rex's case, the front office forced Schotty on him.

  13. This is essentially the exact opposite of the way Mark Sanchez was brought along, and it's great to see. The turnovers have to stop, but not at the expense of production. Right now, Geno is ranked 6th in the NFL with an 8.3 ypa number. He's pushing the ball downfield with a set of alleged skill position players. Schottenheimer (and Rex) completely shut Sanchez down to avoid the turnovers, Marty is instead telling his young QB not to play scared. To go out there and move the football. And it's paying off. There will be more turnovers, but I'll accept the learnterceptions as long as Geno co

  14. 2 goal line stands 1 of which being ruined by terrible officiating, 2 missed opportunities for turnovers 1 of which should have been a pick six, tons of home cooked calls apparently holding is legal in Atlanta on every play, all in all, we knew the Jets would have to score 28+ to win because that might be the most loaded offense in the league for a weaponz standpoint. At the end of the day, Geno bailed the D out...but I wouldnt kill them for last nights efforts. The goal line stand at the end of the half was a huge difference maker in this game.

  15. Yeah, I saw that too. I thought he was trying to mean mug but this thread makes it seem different now. I googled about this and it came up with no results. I hope that we are making something out of nothing, cause I really like him on this squad.

  16. We're either the youngest or 2nd youngest (Rams?) team in the NFL. This is what happens when you have a lot of young talent. You win some games you shouldn't and look terrible some other weeks. At least we have more of a positive identity than we used to. We know every week our Front 7 has the ability to dominate. We know we have a pretty good o-line and can run the ball when we need to. We know our secondary has issues but can occasionally make some plays. We know that if the game is close our rookie QB has the ability to drive us down the field and win the game. These are good si

  17. Also good news is that they finally get to play Pittsburgh at home. I'm not sure how good that is, but two places I'm sick of seeing are Pittsburgh and Oakland.

  19. The players dropped 3 turnovers. Refs let Atlanta get away with a LOT of holding. They don't have anyone on the roster capable of covering Tony Gonzalez. Julio Jones makes a 1-handed catch 40 yards downfield on blanketed coverage. And Ryan's passes were clearly "on" tonight. But this is why a team needs a QB. This isn't a great defense, but it is a good one. And even a good defense needs to be bailed out sometimes. 30 freaking points of offense with no "weapons" at receiver. Defense, running game, receivers, specials, whatever. This league is all about the QB.

  25. I have decided to not find a new forum and stay with this one, a place I've called home since 2005. It's been fun almost all of the time. I'd like to say hello again, hello to all who I've had good dialog with over the last 8 years or so. There are some good fans here and also what seems to be some good people as well. But I feel the amount of people who like to start good conversation far outweigh any bad discussion that goes on here. Good luck this season and in future seasons. We will never have a team to be proud of and that championship is never going to come. ( I do really b

  30. Honestly, that holding call when the Jets stopped them on 4th and 3 was total bullsh*t. Davis touched him but didnt hold, and the double block on Gonzalez was within 5 yards. The Jets defense did what they had to do on that play. As for the entire 2nd half, I would assume that we're still playing against Matty Ice. We're not going to simply shut him down the entire game at home.

  37. if geno doesn't turn it over and the Jets give up 29, what is the point of Rex as HC? He needs to keep the Falcons to 24.

  38. I have an opinion on the - let's call it excessive - use of the challenge flag. I think this is showing the downside with the HC calling the plays on defense. While he's wondering whether or not to throw a flag, he's not calling a play in to the defense. So now there's no time to think of (or send in) a play and the only thing left to do is throw the challenge flag. Just an opinion.
