  3. 0.. A single ape doesn't have enough brain power to figure out such an elaborate puzzle, trying to increase the brain power by adding apes will only result in long arguments about different theories on the correct light-bulb changing steps. Each apes argument of course will be incorrect, but delivered with absolute insistence that it is in fact the only correct solution... I would encourage this experiment take place post haste, I would imagine it would play out very favorably; the argument over correct light bulb changing technique would get so heated that it would result in a rapid escalation of ape on ape violence, leading to a thunder-dome like conclusion, where many apes enter, but only 1 ape leaves. The sole surviving ape, the alpha ape if you will, would then attempt to change the light-bulb with the last surviving ape light-bulb changing theory, inevitbly resulting in a charred and electrocuted ape, leaving a wonderful ape free world for all of us to enjoy

  4. Just want to say thank you to those that have reported posts recently that we may have missed. We try to read everything here but we do miss some stuff from time to time, so there have been one or two reported posts in the past few months that we are thankful for. We appreciate the heads up. What has been happening much more frequently recently, is people reporting posts and telling us what to do. Well, that isn't how the system works. There have been more reported posts in the past 30 days than in the previous 5 years (I am being serious). When we started the site, we actually disabled the report this post feature because we are all adults and we expect everyone to just work it out. There are a handful of posters here that seem to have a hard time getting along. We get different reasons back as to why this is, but I just want to give everyone a heads up that those reasons do not matter. We don't have a lot of rules here. We ask that you avoid posting curses and anything that just isn't safe to view in a work environment. We ask that you avoid political talk. Because we are Jets fans and are not concerned with party lines here. We also ask that you treat each other with respect and avoid personal attacks. Some of you don't get along, that will happen when you have millions of posts on a message board. What needs to happen in those cases is these users need to ignore each other. Completely. The bickering back and forth is officially over. Check out the Ignore User option, it is pretty cool. We have run this site without being heavy-handed. That is also over. I have now asked the moderators to just ban people when they don't get along. We are going to avoid the 7 day \ slap on the wrist kind of banning as well. When you are banned, you are banned. That is our way of saying, thanks for stopping by but this community is going forward without you. To the 99% of the posters that get along great and make this site what it is, THANK YOU. We appreciate that you make this your home for Jets talk. To the 1% that continue to fight and bicker while launching personal attacks -- sorry but if this continues you will be asked to leave. Except we won't actually ask.

  9. Lovie Smith was literally just hired. Pete Carroll is the darling of the NFL. Two of the best teams left in the playoffs are the Seahawks and Niners and they operate on a great ground game and awesome defense. The patriots' defense is what kept them winning games the first half of the season. You're quickly turning into the typical message-board poster who makes entire posts up just to fit his argument.

  22. New Orleans was fourth in scoring defense, tenth in scoring offense. Apparently, they're not all about offense, if that was the case, they wouldn't have been bounced last year when they were putrid. New England was ten in scoring defense, hardly average. Green Bay is no longer in the playoffs because they couldn't get a stop on d in the last two minutes of the game. San Francisco is eleventh in scoring offense and third in scoring defense. Colin Kaepernick threw for 135 more yards than Geno Smith. Indianapolis was ninth in scoring defense.

  23. Dude DEFERRED in the OLD Overtiime rules. You just cant forget that no matter how hard you try. Has a more boneheaded coaching decision ever been made? OK, maybe Pisarcik being told to hand off instead of taking a knee. Maybe.

  24. Firstly, the author clearly tries to play them as two entirely different personalities, but Brady is extremely heated and aggressive on the field, to the point of petulant, not this laid back, serene Peyton Manning-esque demeanor they are trying to contrast with Manziel. However, Brady is 100% right. He's no longer going to be the most athletic kid on the field playing Duke linebackers/future law-firm softball champs, he's going to be playing against the absolute best athletes in the world at almost every position, so if he does continue that prickish attitude, he will get it shoved down his throat. He can go the Rivers route and continue to be a douche, but as long as he backs it up he'll be fine, but if he doesn't, he will get sh*t-canned very quickly, especially because even though the media is lauding him now, they are absolutely looking to turn on him the first chance that they get.

  25. That was last year. Now they all want Manziel for that purpose. Johnny Jaguar needs to be a reality.

  26. I don't think the the Jets offense was exactly the talk of the NFL this year. Not in a positive way, anyway.

  31. The alternative, is to expect the Jets to blow all of it, which is understandable given their history, but, then why bother watching?

  32. The NFL did play 2 games on Saturdays in December well into the 1990s. But problem is they are turning soemthing special in the playoffs into something ordinary. The setup now seems ideal. If you start putting on Friday, Sunday or Monday night playoff games you are diluting the value of those games. And while most guys can get away with watching football on a winter weekend, pushing that further becomes problematic. There are a lot of playoff baseball, basketball and NCAA bowl games that get terrible ratings, and 3 of this weekend's 4 games needed help to sell out. Be careful what you wish for.

  33. There's not a single player that I've ever seen in college football, Manziel included, who was more of a leader of men and cared more about winning than Tim Tebow. What'd that do for him? You could have all the passion in the world for the game and if your skills don't cut it, then you won't make it. Now, Manziel's pro-potential is better than Tebows, true, I just personally don't believe his skillset translates to the NFL. It has nothing to do with attitude. And for what it's worth, a lot of the things you are raving about Manziel for, passion for the game, leader, cockiness, could be said about Rex and yet you hate him for that. Actually, the best QB we've had in 12 years was a 40 year old Brett Favre up until he sustained the first major injury in his career. And not for nothing, but Pennington won, not because of his attitude, but because outside of one season, he was a mediocre QB on a very good football team.

  35. It will most likely come down to 3 top 10 QBs in Bridgewater, Bortles and Manziel. The X factor, possible mid-late 1st round guy is probably Carr. Bridgewater probably ends up the more prototypical, solid all around game- choice with the least amount of risk. Then...with Mariota out, Bortles takes a big leap forward as your new, super-big armed-untapped potential, Kapernick-esqu, more athlete, new wave-type guy. Then you have Manziel who's the, anyone's guess is better than mine with high to lows of epic proportions, type.
