Before you criticize my opinions, how many have watched, I mean really watched, professional sports? Because you should know that I watch them really closely. Sometimes I even rewind plays on the DVR and watch more then once. I've also actually physically been present at actual professional sporting events. So, you know, I really know what I'm talking about. So, think twice, maybe three or four times even, before you criticize my opinions cause I know my sh*t. Just say'n. In case it wasn't obvious, already, which I'm sure it was.

Goodell has botched this Ray Rice thing from the get go. There was already a video of Ray Rice dragging his unconscious girlfriend out of an elevator. Pretty obvious what happened. To give him a punishment that was literally half of what someone would get for smoking a joint the first time, or taking the wrong over the counter supplement fell somewhere between insanity and idiocy. Then he comes back and says that in the future, the penalty for a first time offense in domestic violence will be a six week suspension. Fine, so increase Rice's suspension to six weeks then and there, no one would've blinked. Instead, a new video comes out showing him cold-cocking his GF, and Goodell -despite announcing that the punishment for a first offense will be six games- decides to ban Rice indefinitely. WTF is that? What he did was terrible, but is it worse than what Greg Hardy is accused of? I have no sympathy for Rice, but he's unfairly being made an example here because he was stupid enough to have his transgression caught on tape. The Josh Gordon thing has also been botched. Everyone knew a one year ban was coming back before the draft, but he waited until a week before the season to issue it. Essentially giving the Browns no chance to make adjustments to their roster, and eliminating all of Josh Gordon's offseason next year in one fell swoop. And then, once again, he backtracks on himself and (potentially) cuts that sentence in half. He loses credibility with every move. I approve wholeheartedly of the drug suspensions being reduced, but what's Goodell gonna do when a player is caught smoking crack on tape? Indiscriminately impose a longer ban a la Rice? If you have a policy, you stick to it. He established a domestic abuse policy, and his first opportunity to follow it, he chose not to. Why even establish a policy in the first place in that case? The man is being rightly criticized.

This is what's wrong with society. Growing up, if I messed up, I got smacked. I grew up to be respectful of others and overall a good person (don't hold my posts here against me, I'm really not a dick lol) But these days, a kid acts up, throws sh*t, or does other crazy behavior, if the parent even so much as tries to discipline them, they get arrested. Basically, sometimes a child just needs a good beating to knock the stupid out of them. I'm not talking about torture, but smacking your son or using a belt or something like that, to me, isn't cause for arrest.

Thanks Max, it just makes it easier that way in some cases. One request I'd make is that when you're in HTML mode (not BBCode mode) the board lets you type raw HTML but the shortcut buttons no longer are functional. So if I want to post a photo, I have to switch back to BBCode mode or type in the IMG tags at the beginning/end of the URL. Same for bold, underline, italic, size, color, etc. Do you have controls over the HTML mode in a posting window wheras you can enable these shortcut buttons to allow them to put in the HTML tags most commonly used? SAR I

I find it hard to believe that all he does is show up, put out a piece of paper with a dollar figure on it and the networks pony up. I would think there's more to the job than just this. Don't think owners will shell out 70 mil for a job I would gladly do at 1/10 that. He has to get some credit for the growth and popularity of the game. It all goes hand in hand, tv, merchandising, etc etc all put tons of money in the owners and players mouths

Last year, I made it to the regional semifinals in the RPS World Championships. That Rock Paper Scissors for those of you out of the loop. That locker room was intense. One guy was all roided up, he threw one hell of a paper.
