  1. We don't know if we'll have the same GM next season. We're pretty confident we'll have a different HC. So it's probably too early to speculate. But if I had to guess, this is the breakdown of the roster, using cap figures as a guide: Safe (unless traded) OT D'Brickashaw Ferguson C Nick Mangold WR Eric Decker K Nick Folk OT Breno Giacomini (not financially viable to cut) DE/LB Quinton Coples (Free agent after 2015; likely his final season as a Jet) DE Sheldon Richardson DE Muhammad Wilkerson WR Jeremy Kerley CB Dee Milliner RB Chris Ivory S Calvin Pryor QB Geno Smith (

  2. anytime the word agenda is used on a message board nothing good can come of it. let's just agree that we are all jets fans and our collective agenda is to be entertained, hopefully by wins. A plane flying a banner over practice will suffice in a pinch.

  6. I voted Rex and Idzik but in reality everyone needs to go. From the coaches to the GM, scouting staff. Anyone involved in the construction of this debacle needs to go.

  7. Should rather host a game in Germany instead. Guess there is a much bigger fanbase than in England. Great to have the Jets play nearby but would much rather spend my money to fly to the US than freakin' England.

  9. This is actually, exactly where I'm at. If they fire one and not the other, its just another pathetic miscalculation moment in Jets history. Here's what we know about Rex Ryan and John Idzik. Rex: 1 win seasons are not the norm for Rex Ryan. He's only had 1 losing season in his career. This myth that he cant win games, is very near sighted. Rex has always had his teams in "contention" and was a game from the SB twice with an average team. This is the first season he hasnt at least been "in the hunt", even though they finished way out of it in 2012, they had a shot at one point to

  10. In no scenario should Rex Ryan be kept. The fact that 7 of the 27 voters in the poll would opt to keep Rex is utterly ridiculous. And I'm one who still thinks Rex can be a good head coach or top 5 defensive coordinator. We simply need fresh blood. Rex will have success as the next Jaguars HC or DC of a contending team. But he's damaged goods here. Even a bad franchise can turn things around if they can get lucky with a solid HC/QB combo. We need to have a clear chain of command where the GM is allowed to bring in his guy, and together they can select our potential franchise QB/vetera

  14. i heard it driving home from work, he made it sound like it was a done deal, then he started going on and on and on about how poor poor Rex's career was ruined by Idzik and I shut it off, I can't anymore I was talking to myself out loud like a crazy person.. I have enough stress at work without wanting to punch Michael Kayes face in while sitting in traffic

  15. He is not the whole problem. A meddling owner, a terrible scouting departing and an idiot coach are just some of the other reasons.

  19. The logic was and still is priceless to. Well we never had a shot at him! Oh really? Why? Why do you think that is? Because he likes Midwestern food? Really? Maybe it's because the owner is a known asshat and the GM at the time was clueless and the coach is mentally disabled. And when you want to go somewhere and still compete for Super Bowls that's the type of situation you avoid. And the crazy part is you still get the lunatics, even to this day, who argue that if Rex could get someone like Peyton Manning, he could compete for a championship. When the truth of the matter is that R

  20. The only report that matters to me is the one that surfaced regarding Idzik's drafting of Geno. Per the report, the scouts didn't like Geno and wanted no part of him. Idzik leveraged his title at GM, ignored the people he pays to listen to, and gambled his career on a highly-flawed prospect that nobody internally wanted. For someone who pretends to be so risk-averse, it was a pretty dumb, risky decision that will ultimately cost him his job. And rightfully so.

  21. Really was an awesome partial season. Then of course in Jets fashion instead of a chamionship he hurts his shoulders and uses what little strength he has in it to texts pictures of his dick. Actually sounds about right.

  24. By Glenn Naughton Glenn Naughton of JetNation.com had the opportunity to speak with former New York Jets cornerback and fan favorite, Ray Mickens. A standout player from high school, through college and eventually the NFL, Mickens donned the green and white for nine seasons from 1996-2003. He made a name for himself as one of the top nickel backs in the NFL, and was also called upon to play outside on several occasions and matched up against some of the top receivers in the NFL. As Jets fans sit back and watch what is currently a 1-8 team struggle to defend the pass, one can’t help but

  28. The Winston college QB's style of play is not what the Jets need, we need a guy who will make all the reads on every play and hopefully find the open man and if not THEN run, not a 1, 2, oh well see ya kind of player.

  29. You are a real fan. It's what it means to be passionate about the team, either ripping or praising them. That's the deal. Yeah, I never want them to lose either. But over the last two/three years I find myself getting pissed every time I see Rex on the sideline or press conference. (Now I also get agitated when I see Idzik's mug.) I just think Rex has been coasting for years and keeps saying the same mantras of "guys are playing hard", "we got to do better", "we had a great practice", "I need to get more involved with the offense", you know the fukkin drill. Enough already.

  30. And Winston comes from the program that produced Christian Ponder. Basing whether or not a qb will bust based on past qbs is frankly speaking retarded.

  31. Disagree on both counts. It'd probably be a nice bump in pay for me, and I'm getting close to retirement anyway. Your view that this job becomes less attractive if Idzik is fired after this season is just flat out wrong, IMHO. And the idea that giving this guy another two years is the best course of action is crazy. The team now is much worse than it was two years ago. You talk about potential GMs not wanting to come here if Idzik is fired, what head coach candidates are gonna wanna come to work for Idzik on the two year plan? And do you want to continue the keep the GM fire the coach, ke

  32. What quality head coaching candidate is going to come work for a GM who is on thin ice? If Idzik is retained, you're limiting the pool of coaches who will be willing to come here. Even your boy Bevell might not take that risk.

  34. As much as I don't hate Idzik, I would be okay with this as long as Rex is gone too. I like Idzik, I'm probably a little biased because I work with numbers and respect how he manages the cap and salaries, but I'm done with the fat guy and I'm ready to win.

  35. I remember Rivers playing a playoff game with a torn acl. He looked like sh*t out their. If a qb suffers the kind of injury Mariota suffered, he generally would be benched. Also, if your basing it on passing, Mariota's mechanics are way better then Winstons. Winston release is just ugly.

  36. You forgot to mention raping women, and taking a BB gun to campus to run around shooting squirrels. We'll have a top-3 pick for the first time since '96, and people actually want to use it to draft this moron? Unbelievable.

  44. In the last Super Bowl, the wiinigng team scored over 30 points. 2 Super Bowls ago featuring supposed run/good defense team featured both teams scoring over 30 points. You aren't scoring 30+ points babbling about running the ball. There's a reason backs are no longer "feature backs" nor well-paid. You need to run the ball form time to time to keep the defense guessing to set up play action, and to run the clock alte in the game if you're ahead. But you have to pass to score. Simply the red/yellow/green, ground and pound nonsense is not gonna work. You have to pass effectively. And as to d
