  1. I think this is AMAZING news that a woman will now be able to be a ref in an NFL game. Women have come so far and should not be looked at differently. They are true equals and deserve every opportunity that a man would get. I'm sure she will do a better job than half of the current men that are refs now. I am truly fortunate to be alive and see this wonderful moment in sports. Please note that my beautiful, amazing and intelligent wife is NOT sitting right next to me with her arms folded and eyebrows raised watching me type anything in these forums. She is such a great wife and I love

  5. there isn't an ounce of logic in this whole thing. If we pass on him and he's successful somewhere else OUR GM will get roasted... but if we DO draft him and he's a bust the fans will give the GM a pass because "He Tried".??????? yup That's how NY football works. How about we don't take him and still land a 10 year starter at another position with the 6th pick instead??? If that a possibility? My favorite part was your 3rd point... you basically make the point why Mariota should not be drafted by us. It would just be a stunt to sell tickets by our loser owner. My God every po

  6. Mariota is the antithesis of Jay Cutler, with whom I was enamored when he came out of Vandy. At that point in time, I was impressed with his cannon, and his guts, and the fact that he had the balls to try and make any play despite the defense. I dont think that anyone ever doubted his physical ability. At that point in time, I also talked about how Brady, despite his success, was far inferior to Manning and even Favre, who could literally make something out of nothing. To me, Brady was the system guy, a check down type. He relied on the easiest, open opportunity, rather than be able to make th

Ed will discuss the recent additions to the Jets roster and will give his take on where the team is headed. Fireman Ed will also talks about the J-E-T-S chant and what he sees happening to the chant in the future. Listen in as Brandon Dowling and Joe Blewett also take your phone calls at (646) 716-4697. Tell us what you want the Jets to do in the draft. http://www.blogtalkradio.com/jetnation/2015/04/01/new-york-jet

  12. I just don't see how so many others don't clearly see this. This is a league of have's and have nots - If you have a franchise QB you're in contention for over a decade...if you don't you're drafting in the top 10 every few years. Is Mariotta a risk - sure - but if he pans out it's franchise changing. You take that chance every opportunity you can...

  15. True. But he's a sharper guy 3 beers in than Geno SMth will ever be. Mariota has the capacity to learn. Ultimately suspect they'll either go with the BPA or trade down and look at the Bryce Pettys of the world in round 2 or 3. And willing to believe Maccagnan and Bowles know what they're doing way better than whom they replaced. Let's all agree-Smith blows unless he is playing the Dolphins the day before trash bag day. He is already a slap in the face to every other player. Rex Ryan did many stupid things here but far and away the single worst was not benching the Stewardess Fighter afte

  21. I don't give Sanchez a pass for being a turnover machine and a backup caliber QB. However, I definitely DO give a pass to the Jets regime at the time for taking a shot, trading up, and drafting him. It was the right decision... even with hindsight. Marcus Mariota might not pan out, but it WILL be the right decision to trade up and get him of the cost is anything but ridiculous. A team does not get in the vicinity of a top 5 pick very often. When you have a chance, take it. My opinion, don't trade up to #2. If TEN drafts him, so be it. Trade up to #3, #4, or #5.

  24. I'm hoping for Gurley or Melvin Gordon in the second. I doubt Beasley will be there at six anyway. Even money is Cooper as the pick. In my head.

  25. This is actually a good point. The perfect guy to complement the current roster is Vic Beasley, because you just turn him loose after the QB. It would be mighty fun watching Brady get pile-driven by Sheldon and Beasley.

  28. I have a special needs child. Hate the word, too. People don't realize how cringe-worthy it is to others so I try not to get too uptight over it. Only in certain instances it works. George Carlin had a great stand-up bit on handicapped people; While he didnt use the word, he could have gotten away with it because it was a damn funny bit. The other instance where it was funny was Robert Downey Jr in Tropic Thunder..."Never go full retard." That was funny as hell. I assume it was dialogue written by Ben Stiller who, like Carlin, does a pretty good job of getting away with cringe-worthy s

  30. I'll be at both. If anyone has a spare ticket or two for Thursday draft night, I could use them for two 12 yr old boys. Not to trade for the boys. No. that would be wrong. see my son is 12 and he has friends who also like the Jets. I would take them along, lure them with the tickets. Not lure. that's not the right phrasing. Ply? Ply them? No. Bring them along as guests. that's what I'd do. Just FYI I don't own a van. In case you were concerned about that sort of thing. The van was seized years ago. This isn't going well.
