  3. Why are there so many threads about the Pats? This is a Jets board.

  5. Iupati agreed to terms with the Cards first, then we signed Carpenter. The interesting thing to me was that reports had us pursuing Orlando Franklin before we went after Iupati. When they cut Darrin Walls?

  6. looks like geno... does any other position really matter?

  7. Did you watch Kyle Wilson last year? He he was. And the o-line really isn't that bad at all. PFF ranked the Jets o-line league-average in pass protection. You can blame Geno for making the line looking worse than it was.

  10. The worst part is that I came back from the weekend and forgot what the thread was about, so I got to open it up and relive the moment!

  11. There are several reasons: 1. News affecting personnel on a division rival is relevant to Jets chances this year; 2. More specifically, Pats D is already depleted and this may deplete it further; 3. We will play them twice this year and they are already short-handed on defense; and 4. More news about Pats ethical failures dispels the myth of "the Patriots way," making Jets fans feel better about their team and themselves. This one isn't too much of a stretch in terms of being relevant for this board.

  12. Neither.... but $120 won't kill me.... and it certainly will spice up the season. Maybe if Raiderholic agrees to never post here again I might let him off the hook when I win! I'm sure you'd ALL agree to that one.

  13. Word. I hate my ocean view condo and my 5 minute commute to work. Cant stand all the smoking hot half naked women that walk the streets. Hate the no-state income tax. Really wish they'd do something about great weather all year long. Way too many golf courses. Really hate all the lakes and rivers. Sucks having a quazi NFL team in town and the 10 others pro sports team with in 5 hours of distance. Not to mention all the college sports near by. Oklahoma sounds better.

  14. Wont lie, even as broke as LeBron was yesterday in the 2nd half, that was an amazing performance. He was looking like Magic out there. Completely in control of everything and everything thing he does on the court causes a reaction. I havent seen a single player command the entire floor like that since Magic. If he pulls this off, I'll change my position on the guy. There were times last night where I felt like I was watching the best ever.

  17. Same reason Sanchez got torched at a Knicks' game: People are pissed off and tired of watching INT machines.

  18. Why are Jets fans booing Geno at Yankee games??? This will help the Jets how again?

  19. Nah Skrine will have to prove himself to me, he was decent with the Browns but he wasn't a shut down corner and I don't think he will be one here either. I just imagine we are going to have more problems with short throws down the middle than anything else this season. Running on us should be a nightmare as it was last season and possibly even worse. As far as Cro goes I think he will be alright, we are going to have insane amounts of pressure from our defensive line this season and QBs playing against us will likely either make mistakes trying to force a throw or look for the quick pass down the middle. The one thing we do have in our favor as far as opposing slot receivers go is that they might be scared to catch the ball with DD and Pryor waiting to deliver big hits to them. I actually think McDougle is either going to end up being our slot guy or converted into a hybrid safety type in Bowles' scheme, I think he has all the right skill sets to play those positions.

  20. Jet fans have to root for Geno to succeed because he has more upside than Fitz and if Geno is good this year they have a chance to make the playoffs. The problem is that Geno's stinks and he's an ahole--a bad combination. Like Slats said, it's not intelligence. It's personality and there are enough red flags in that department to fill a UN flag-stand.

  21. Well, what is the tallest building in Buffalo? The leap may have something to do with that.

  22. Gailey naming Geno the de facto starter. Bowles later backed off it, but that was really the biggest sour moment for me. All I ask is that he go into TC thinking he needs to win the job, not 'not lose' it. I'm also curious about not extending Wilkerson, but I can't come out and say I think it is a mistake, at least at this point in time.

  24. With 'decent' corners in 2013 the pass defense was atrocious. Last year, after failing to develop any psquad corners at all he exposed these lousy cbs and utterly failed to adjust his defense until the team was a whopping 1-10 or whatever they were. The 2013 8-8 record was just a massive aberration, two total fluke wins and getting blown out in almost all losses. Rex is just like his twin brother and almost any other D coach, give them great personnel and they can look good. give them less and they flounder. Wgich leads to the question, why is he labelled such a great D coach and guru if he can't win without a stacked defense? As I've said before Buffalo was by FAR the best place for him to land. A stacked defense and who cares about the offense. I would have loved to see him go to a team like Atlanta with a good offense and really lousy D personell.

  25. Yeah, the way I try to see it is, if I started a brand new franchise today and I could pick one QB (all things relative) in his prime, to lead that franchise for the next 10-15 years, I'm taking Elway. Peyton and Marino are probably #2 and #3.

  26. I thought Sanchez was gay for his lover Scotty McKnight. That's why Rex drafted McKnight, no?

  29. So you guys who still want Geno Smith to be the QB of the Jets, do you guys remember last season when they won opening day and then went on to lose 11 of the next 12 games. Is that the kind of football you like watching?

  30. He's wasted a defense that carried his ass to 8-8 in a very easy schedule his rookie year, that was in the playoff hunt despite Geno doing his best Jamarcus Russel impression. Which is exactly why he shouldn't start. He's done enough harm to this team as it is, and needs to be put in a position where he will exceed, that position being the bench.

  31. Peyton Manning is the greatest QB ever. In September October November.. Him being higher the Montana is a joke. I can't compare him to anyone from the 70's and earlier because I never saw them play. I forget, what is Peyton's record in the playoffs? How many one and dones? Even when he won a SB, he didn't play well.

  36. I don't think many would have had a big problem if the old regime was still here and drafted Williams. There really wasn't much choice there, if you value your draft board. At the same time, I wasn't ecstatic when Mac and Bowles picked Williams either. They couldn't just pass him up. Is there hypocrisy on this board? Sure is. But I can think of more annoying things than hypocrisy on this board. Just sayin.

  37. I totally respect this kid's decision-it's really a smart thing to do, and a MATURE thing to do. How many of these guys have to blow their own heads off after suffering through what concussions do. Look at our own #80, remember seeing him knocked on the field his last year? Then we finally saw him blink his eyes-Chrebet will NEVER be a normal guy again.

  38. Much stronger team up and down the roster with the exception of O-line. Not that it's a bad line, it's just not as stacked as the AFCCG lines.

  39. Lol what a ridiculous argument. INTs are not the end of the world... If you make up for them by throwing a lot of TDs.

  40. He missed 2 games last year and didn't play in the 2nd half of 2 others. He also had 8 fumbles. He was also pulled for Michael Vick. Yes, the currently unemployed Michael Vick. How many TD's did those guys throw? How many did Geno throw? Here, I'll help you out: Peyton: 39 Brees: 33 Eli: 30 Matt Ryan: 28 Dalton: 19 Geno: 13 That's the difference between elite (Peyton, Brees), above average (Eli, Ryan), average (Dalton) and terrible (Geno), right there for everyone to see. Even the best can throw a substantial # of picks, but they make up for it with a ton of upside. Geno has displayed little or no upside, and will need to display some to keep his job.

  41. Was a time you could tailgate until 1230 for a 1PM game and still get to your seats by kickoff. No more. And that's the way the Jets and Gianst want it, having spent a billion of theirs and NJ's money to build this sh*thouse. It burns their asses that all those people were spending money on tailgates are not buying their crappy overpriced concessions instead. This helps them wiith that. In their ideal world, everyone would go inside when the gates opened. They saw a chance to force people to get inisde early. Which is why several thousand pople no longer go to games, despite a drumline and cheerleaders and ....PSLs, uh, well you get the idea.If you treat paying customers like criminals, expect at some point they'll take the hint and seek more pleasant and cost-effective alternatives. Like their living rooms or the local sports bar. To date the veneer of rent a cops security has prevented ZERO incidents(but heaven forbid you sneak a few cans of beer or a sandwich in, you evil bastards) . Same thing with the airport nonsense; the TSA chief under oath has stated all that nonsense at the airport has not stopped one attack(which could be stopped tomorrow anyway by 1.profiling and 2. keeping crazy people from terrorist countries frome entering the US in the first place, but I digress). And even if there were a threat the police would jump on the people involved. God uck to those of you whos till go. Frankly I think you're nuts to pay top dollar to be treated like garbage.Still may go to a game or 2 this year, but damned if I'm paying top price.

  42. Geno even managed to throw an interception when they ran the ball 49 times in one game. That's how awful he is and how little the Jets trusted him then, and there is no reason to trust him now.

  43. Yet strangely, Geno is still a much better QB
