  3. So true. No rationality with Geno haters just hatred of him as a person more than a QB it seems. I don't know if he will ever be the answer. But I sure as hell know Fitz is not. Guy has never won more than 6 games and is just a complete JAG. I would be way more optimistic with either Geno or Bryce starting. Both of them have upside and play making capability. Fitz does not.

  6. If the new regime valued Milliner at all, he would not've been placed on this short term IR. His injury is not an eight week injury. This is last ditch protection to give a former top ten pick an opportunity to prove himself. He either proves himself, or he's gone.

  8. I get all you're saying. Honestly, I do. But over the past two years I've watched Geno throw more pick 6s/red zone INTs than I thought humanly possible. You can't blame all those on receivers, scheme, or humidity on game days. He's the guy making the decision to make the throw. And that brings us to another aspect of his disability: Geno is a dunce at reading defenses. He's lost out there. Plus, his method of "avoiding" a sack/pass rush is to either run backwards for 25 yards or attempt to throw the ball as he's about to be tacked and an inch from the ground. You want to hitch your horses to the Geno wagon? Fine. I respect and applaud your faith. Totally. Me? I've seen enough of the guy. Just as when folks were defending Sanchez, Tebow, and what seems like a thousand former Jet tools, we are wasting our time on Geno. I wish Mcc would work out a trade for him. With our two QBs, this season is pretty much shot anyway.

  9. May the best QB playing the best play. Like always. I believe that is and will be Fitz in 2015. But if it's Geno, so be it.

  10. I am an adamant believer in Mariota. He was the best player in the draft. The Bucs made an egregious error taking Winston.

  12. I'm sure there are bad judges just like there are bad Policeman. Power can go to peoples head. My issue with this whole thing is that the league turned a blind eye to the Pats cheating & ball deflation for years. People who know football, know that the Pats ALWAYS had their best games in bad weather. Bradys throwing the ball around while the opponents are fumbling & throwing bad picks. Then you look at the overall fumbling rate in the NFL & the Pats are so far behind the mean it's ridiculous. Plus they have had players that never fumbled, they leave & fumble in other places. How do we know that ball that venetieri kicked in the snow vs the Raiders was legal (I'm guessing it wasn't). Bermans role was to look at this one instance, Goodell & the league were looking at the cheating in it's entirety.

  13. well.... When we joke as fans that I want a SB before I die , it was funny and we all laugh. Not it to age myself but I watched the 82 Mud Bowl game in a college dorm room. Im not laughing anymore...... :)

  14. I marvel at all the would be GMs who know that Miles has to be better than Martin and the Jets just made a mistake. People sure are funny.

  15. Safety Rontez Miles, a popular and relentless player in the locker room and on the field, has returned to the Jets as a member of the practice squad. Miles was released Sunday when the Jets acquired Ronald Martin on waivers from Seattle. When Miles cleared waivers today, the Green & White added him as the ninth member of the P-squad. "Rontez had a great camp and I told him that myself," head coach Todd Bowles, the one-time Super Bowl safety, said following today's practice but before Miles' return was announced. "I thought he was the most improved guy. But that doesn’t mean he was ready. There are still some things he has to learn, but I think he was getting there. Just to have him on the team, I thought he need a little bit more time and I loved to work with the guy." Miles, the winner of last year's Ed Block Courage Award voted on by teammates for fighting back from two injuries during the season, was in his third Jets training camp this summer. His unofficial total of 23 tackles led the defense and was tied for fifth-most in the NFL in the preseason. Miles' 225 total plays and 189 defensive plays in the Jets' four preseason games were both second on the defense only to LB Trevor Reilly (228, 197).

  16. depends on pettys overall game and off field issues. Geno not only played like sh*t he has atleast three off fields incidents that make you shake your head and make you think this is not a guy that can lead 52 other men to the promise land

  17. What?? We don't want him to fail. It's that over the past two seasons, we've seen Geno fail remarkably well. We just don't want to throw away another season watching him continue his mastery of failure.

  18. The Jets don't have a "very good" QB on the roster. All they are looking for is limited turnovers and average QB play. Fitzpatrick gives the Jets a better chance at that than Geno does.

  19. What good can you or anyone get out of talking about how someone might stink ? If the QB has a bad game, you have the right to blast him , but after that, why not wish for a great game next time out instead of killing your QB in print for something you think he might do because of past experiences ?

  20. Actually its the complete opposite. The only way he keeps the job is to light it up

  24. So lets recap summer here. 1.Geno sucked, Fitzpatrick was much, much better, we're a playoff team with Fitz, we're screwed with Geno 2. Geno gets injured and widespread panic because Fitz is now our starter. We're screwed with Fitz, trade the house for anyone was the mantra. 3. Geno might come back soon, now Fitz is now PManning shouldn't go to the bench, Geno gave it away forever, go back to #1 and start over

  27. True. Jets CS has no idea what Fitzy is capable of after 9 years. Fitzy should be given 12 games to see what he's made up of.

  29. Kidding aside, I view this a lot like Brady's destruction of his phone -- legally irrelevant, but lousy optics and shows terrible judgment/tone deafness on the part of Brady (in the case of the phone) and Kraft (in the case of mingling with Berman).

  30. If you think Flynn is lucky how about soon to be retired Matt Cassel? Guy parlayed checking it down to Wes Welker for half a season into $50 million.

  31. Sheldon deserves the bonehead of the off-season award. Clearly Richardson has some growing up to do, too bad he had to learn that at the team's expense.

  32. I don't think that you can overstate your point enough. Doesn't everyone recall Idzik in his state of the team address saying that the team had "more than enough talent to win." Is that what we want, a FO and coach that is boarderline delusional in their thinking and evaluation of their own roster? A FO willing to keep marginal CFL players just prove that they are right? Thank God we have moved beyond such a loser mentality. Will Mac get everything right? NO!!!!! But we will know that he is always and constantly looking to upgrade his roster and not his portfolio of "his guys."

  33. 2 very good pieces of news today. Chris Owusu being re-signed and Walter Powell being signed to the practice squad. In my opinion, Owusu & Powell should both be on the active roster - I would have cut Enunwa to keep Powell & Owusu on the final 53 man roster. Every time Enunwa is on the field he seems like he gets dinged up.

  34. Wow- so Shaq Evans was straight up cut. No roster, no PS. Smh- I know he showed absolutely nothing but am continually flabbergasted how awful that draft was.

  35. I too was in a college dorm watching that game and I can not and could not have ever fathomed that the Jets wouldn't have been in a SB by 2015 and counting!!!!

  36. I think it came down to who they thought it would be safe to expose. Someone else on the bottom of the roster that they considered more likely to be sniped. And if that was their strategy, it worked. They IR'd Milliner, and Owusu's back.

  38. He drafted a TE, who the Jets needed. He went where he should go and outperformed other TEs drafted ahead and behind him. He put up acceptable numbers, along the line of Gronk as a rookie. You would have to expect he would have been a big contributor this year. Nothing in his past, unless catching 100 passes in college without a history of injury was a red flag. This is the NFL, players get hurt. A tissue tear isn't a sign of anything, its bad luck. Revis wasn't a pusse when he tore his knee, Namath wasn't a pusse for blowing his knee etc out. No one calls Gronk a pusse for breaking an arm, it happens, its a tough sport. Idzik made more than enough mistakes, this isn't one of them

  40. Small fluff piece with our future starting QB. He is a really likable guy, he's young but hopefully don't spend it on drugs and hookers and he'll be ok. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2560006-check-out-jets-rookie-qb-bryce-pettys-new-crib

  41. I don't know if anyone else listened to Bowles press conference but he indicated that Petty was further along then even the other QBs who they brought in. What I was impressed by was the fact that Bowles was not nervous if Petty had to replace Fitz for some time. This tells me that Petty is getting better and better and will be ready for some real action to compete next year.... Interesting indeed.

  42. Browsing this thread, no one is talking about the obvious with Geno (possible I missed it). He is dumb, he lost the locker room (if he ever had it), and he missed game time reps. I don't think anyone would argue that Geno has the tools to play the game, from the shoulders down. Personally, I believe we get what this team has needed for years with Fitz (Who I am not a fan of), a game manager who won't lose games. Fitz may not win games, but he is less likely to lose games. We all know that Fitz is not dumb, the team seems to respond to him, and he played in real games in the system. That being said, I was excited to see what Smith could do with some real weapons.

  43. Haha the comedy of this post is so underrated! Keep your hands off the guy going to the PS because he couldn't beat out the likes of Lee Smith, Clive Walford, and Miychal Rivera hahahaha. I was gonna take drugs for entertainment today but your posts are much better. If only Nancy Reagan had you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  46. Yeah, he looks built for the league. It's going to come down to him being able to learn the game. Fingers crossed. We're due.
