  1. Pretty sure this is ban worthy. Time for a vote.

  2. I liked what I saw from him this preseason. He needs to keep the gunslinger mentality because it allows him to play to his strengths. The kid has a special arm and if he can continue to learn to harness it and put the ball in the right spots he can be on track to getting a shot at the starting gig.

  3. I am a member of several Jets Forums and since JI went AWOL, IMO this is the best board for Jets information and intelligent conversation. I feel most confident here that I can post my opinion without being ridiculed and / or attacked personally by people who I do not know, nor who know me. Also, there is not nearly as much bad language used here as I have seen on other boards. Some of the language they use is downright offensive. I am by no means a Pollyanna, I curse as much as the next guy/gal, however, there is a time and place for everything, not where children can read what you write free

  6. This regime is cutting bait no matter where your were picked. That's how you keep relevant, keeping players that suck based on their draft position is a recipe for disaster. Go Macc, go Bowles, go Jets. My made up nephew who said he worked for the Jets but I don't think he did, said Amaro was out of shape & came in thinking he was all it, was finally cut. I told you guys how my made up nephew who never worked for the Jets said how out of shape he came in as a rookie. Once they jettison Geno all of the losers who my nephew said were dumb out of shape sh*ts will finally be cast off off t

  11. True But there is also a difference when your LT takes a nap during the play. Petty has shown a few things that whether he is playing against 1's or 3's is still true. He has a very strong arm, and can throw upfield with accuracy on most occasions. He keeps his head when being pressured. He really got battered from his left side all pre-season. Still stepped thru his throws, and took the shot while delivering nice throws. I don't think he saw most of his passes completed as he was knocked to the ground. This is a hard thing to teach, and a lot of QB's never get it.

  13. I like what I've seen from Petty right up until that worthless pile - Brandon Shell - almost got him killed. I think Petty could become a legit starter - Brandon Shell should have been cut in my opinion, I haven't seen one good thing out of that kid and he has cement blocks for feet.

  19. By claiming four players, the Jets will now need to free up four roster spots to make room for said players. This could spell trouble for running back Dominique Williams, tight ends Kellen Davis and Brandon Bostick, along with cornerback Dexter McDougle. Some background on the claimed players: Braedon Bowman (TE)— An undrafted rookie out of South Alabama, Bowman caught three passes for 32 yards with Jacksonville this preseason. Two of those grabs and 28 of those yards game against the Jets in the preseason opener. Bowman stands 6-4 and weighs 244 pounds. Brian Parker (TE) — Pa

  21. Jet fans. 2015: 'We suck, they need to get better, we have no depth!' 2016: 'Bring back Kenrick Ellis, Darrin Walls, and all the depth players we had last year! Don't cut the guys who've made zero contributions since being drafted yet!' Not sure if idiotic, psychotic, or both.

  22. Yes, the $0.00 we saved by cutting Milliner will be very useful
    4 points
  23. Milliner was waived-injured ... looks like the Jets will put him on IR. Makes sense; they're paying his salary either way, may as well keep him theoretically on the roster so if, by some miracle, he signs a qualifying contract next offseason, he counts towards a compensatory pick.

  26. Not agreeing with you doesn't mean I'm rationalizing. I agree with notion that we have needs, just not with idea that they needed to be filled and reflected in this cut. Roster should be fluid, meaning today, you keep the best guys/investments you've got. Tomorrow you keep trying to fix those holes. Im glad they kept better prospects rather than sh*t players that meet needs. This doesn't preclude them from still addressing needs as season progresses.

  28. You all will love this guy, if you haven't seen his videos, watch, they are true. The guy has instant acceleration and hits the holes hard, either passing or hitting defenders. For the life of me, I can't figure out why he was cut in favor of Prosaise, or Collins who were no comparison. My guess is they thought they could sneak him onto the PS. It could be too, that he's a Thomas Rawls clone and, well we already have Rawls. I'm betting he'll be your starting RB sooner than later. Good luck with him, he's electric and exciting.

  32. He actually looked good in the preseason finale. Forte is not a great rb anymore, he's more of an all purpose guy. Powell will be seeing more touches than most are predicting.

  33. No, he doesn't suck but we also don't know how he'll do with starters and we haven't seen enough to determine whether he's definitely a possibility to lead the starters next year. I don't love having four QBs but I think the second Petty is healthy and the coaching staff determines he could limp along at least as well as Geno then Geno gets traded or cut.

  34. Well there were unknowns. He didn't run a huddle, call plays, read defenses, or drop back in college. He checked all the boxes he could. Perfect amount of humility, and confidence, with a very likable personality. Size, arm and athleticism. This year he showed poise in the huddle, good footwork, pocket awareness, and stood tall and delivered the ball. Again he checked all the boxes he could. Next we need to know if he can read real NFL defenses consistently. We'll find out. I can tell you if he can he is going to be a huge star.

  38. Just want to put out what I've seen from our new RTs, and why I think it's been so difficult for our coaches to pick one. Ijalana looks very comfortable but gets beat too often. He is the better athlete but does not have the same strength as Qvale. More of a finesse type. Qvale looks as if he is working on new footwork. He has widened his stance, and really doesn't look like he's completely comfortable with it yet. The thing is that I don't think I've seen him get beaten cleanly all preseason. He gets the job done though he may not look as good doing it. His upside is higher, and he

  39. It's every person, group or special interest group won't allow anyone to voice a contrary opinion these days. I believe it's called social chaos and don't "disrespect me" People and society have become so Politically Correct that no one can say anything unless you're a minority group, or have an "alternative" lifestyle that conflicts with Judeo-Christian teachings. But, alas, who am I.... just a privileged, racist, bible-thumping, intolerant jerk who although my Grandparents were immigrants is a hypocrite.

  41. Short version: no one in my family watched football, ever. My father wasn't around, my mother worked all the time, and a 32" Magnavox TV raised me. I used to spend Sunday mornings watching karate flicks on Channel 11, then right after the karate flicks, football would come on. This was the era of the Parcells Giants, whom everyone liked at the time, particularly my Italian neighbors, whom I disliked because they were loud and wore sleeveless T's and screamed at their wives in the street. This was the suburbs, where we all worked at being polite and yelled at each other quietly, and always insi

  44. You're welcome to your opinion but you aren't welcome to your own set of facts. No criminal investigation or prosecution occurred because Paterno died months after the story about Sandusky broke. The state does not posthumously pursue criminal prosecutions. However, there was an extensive posthumous investigation done at the request of Penn State which concluded Paterno covered for Sandusky. You can disagree with the findings but you do not get to disregard the existence of the investigation or its findings to wage war on the media.
