While the ASJ "review" was egregious, the call that really changed the momentum of the game was the retracted personal foul penalty when Anderson was hit in the head. The refs threw the flag, Anderson was clearly hit in the head, and the refs then picked up the flag. Rather than a punt that would have put the Jets in scoring position up 14-0. Kind of big deal that no one is really talking about b/c the ASJ play.16 points

The refs gave the Cheats a TD from the phantom PI call on Gronk. Then they took one away from the Jets. Figures. First game I allow myself to get a little emotionally invested in this season... and all I am left with is rage.14 points

Seriously, WTF was that? Never has officiated looked so blatantly corrupt and suspicious. WTF is up with Todd Bowles predictably going all super conservative after up 14-0. Did he f'n expect to win 14-7. We are playing the **Cheatriots and Cindy. WTF is up with our "veteran" "gives us the best chance to win" QB making asinine rookie mistake after stupid rookie mistake burning not 1 but f'n 2 crucial TOs because he cant snap the ball in 40 seconds WTF is up with taking sacks in the 2 min drill? Not like you don't have 4 downs. Throw it the F away How in all the F's in the world do you throw a INT with 30 seconds left? How? WTF is up with Matt Forte actually getting carries?? I mean seriously there is a fry cook some where in Skokie. IL that is probably a better runner than Forte right now. WTF is up with Mo and Leonard? Could they be more f'n invisible WTF was that "PI" call against Gronk. Seriously he pushes off blatantly and then gets a PI call. WTF was up with picking up the UR flag Seriously F the NFL. F the blatant favoritism showed to the cheaters. F the NFL again Someone in that f'n replay office needs to not only be fired but publicly shamed F the Refs F the NFL...it's not about kneeling its about officiating f'n ruing the entire game. They need to seriously looking at the motherf'n rules on fumbles because in no place in the Universe other than Cheatriot land does that even resemble a fumble. It makes no sense. On any level F the NFL. F the officials. F the replay guy F the *Cheatriots Just FUUUUUUUCCCKKKKK12 points

Last week the "pro tank crew" was in full voice about how awful it was that the team was winning. And how we were doomed to mediocrity unless we put a full effort into losing games and getting the highest pick possible. But now after a frustrating loss to NE those very same people (who will go nameless) are in an uproar on how/why we lost the game. So do you want the team to lose or not??? I'm confused9 points

Topic title says it all. Today was IMO the worst and most lopsided officiating I've ever had the displeasure to witness. From picked up flags, to phantom calls, to the criminal nature of the "no, not a TD, it's a turnover, lol!" play, there is no chance that the outcome of today's game was fair. Not saying we'd have won, the team has much to apologize for today. A major opportunity was blown. But that does NOT change that the officiating, at multiple key moments, made massive game-altering shifts via exceptionally questionable or outright fraudulent calls, that had a material outcome on the result. I hope this franchise at least has the balls to call a bag of dogsh*t what it is, and file a formal protest with the league. We all know they won't win....but ffs sake, stand UP for your players and fans, because both got unwelcome anal intercourse today from these Refs.7 points

Jets are the same mediocre team whether they win that game or not. They are definitely playing hard for the most part, but it just puts in display how much different a game like yesterday would be if they had a real qb, a real #1 wr, and a running game where the runner doesn't get initial contact 5 yards behind the los every short down.7 points

Some good things happened around the league after the refereees handed the patriots their not deserved w. The broncos, ravens, jaguars and raiders all lost. Yes the Dolphins won and that one stings but a whole lot of teams sitting at 3-3 (and remember we have the tiebreaker with the jags) jets need to shake this off and respond big with the fins next week. I still smell playoffs the way this team played6 points

Brian Hoyer was benched in the 49'ers game for CJ Bethard, who you ask? He was the 49'ers 3rd round pick who everyone laughed at for taking. CJ was allowed to throw a forward pass in a Football game. He played fairly well. They almost came back and won the game. Meanwhile in Jets land...6 points

I'm not mad about it but it's hard to not feel a little foolish still letting this crap tug at your emotions. It's at the " ignore the man behind the curtain" level with the NFL. Won't be long before fans have to accept it like the WWE entertainment product it has become or Move on. Even the picked up flag for an illegal hit was by definition an illegal hit. He clearly hit the receiver in the face with his helmet. Not hard but still satisfied the criteria. Yet we see lesser infractions called all the time. But to pick up a flag and to make up an over turn in the same game like that? A little much. The NFL is no more real than Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy at this point.6 points

What was actually worse was the decision making at the end of the first half where after escaping a scoring scare with a missed FG Bowles had his sketchy quarterback throwing the ball. Instead of going into halftime with a lead, the game was tied and you knew it was all over. SAR I6 points

If the refs had somehow stupidly called that play as a fumble through the end zone on the field MAYBE you uphold it, but to make that call on review, there is literally NO evidence he fumbled the ball over the goal zone and in addition CLEARLY regained control. MAYBE he is down at like half yard line but even that is impossible to call. They simply intentionally screwed the Jets there, no other possibility.6 points

The Jets lost today for the same reason they have lost a lot of games under this coach. They get a lead and shut it down to sit on that lead. They go into this scared, play not to lose, ultra conservative offense and it costs games time after time. They had NE on the ropes at 14-0. Ok you aren't going to shut them out, but how's about a few first downs after they score? How many times do we run slow Matt Forte into the middle on first down? First down is always key. After they went up 14-0, they went 3 and out for the rest off the half, which included several failed 3rd and 1 stupid running plays up the middle. I don't know, while I never expected to beat NE, we had them. They were extremely beatable today (seems like we always say that after they beat us) and again we $hit the bed.6 points

Damn, people. Even the league has now jumped in to help the Jets tank when they obviously cannot do it correctly for themselves. What more do we need to see to know this is the right course?5 points

Step 1. Get franchise QB Step 2. Get consistent Edge rusher Step 3. Get #1 wideout Step4. Buy playoff tickets Its not that we haven't done ALL of those it's the fact we have done NONE of them.5 points

The skill position players are fine, IF the god damn QB could make simple short throws on 4th, and short, stop under throwing easy TD passes deep, AND stop missing the wide open WR's for TD's multiple times a game like yesterday the Jets score about 30 points yesterday, the play calling has been very good, the scheme has been very good, yes it would be nice if the O-line could get a push on plays where everyone knows it's a run on 3rd, and short, but other then that everything else falls on the QB's limitations plain, and simple. Kearney, Anderson, ASJ, and Kerley are more then enough weapons, and IF teams had to respect the QB's ability to hit the open WR deep that would open up big holes for the running game it's a trickle down affect.5 points

Don’t agree, you need points to beat the Patriots. McCown threw a bad pick, the fault rests with him. You play to win, you don’t play not to lose.5 points

Yes some of this really irked me. The zero passion from Todd on the Touchback fumble Bull sh*t. The face mask to face mask picked up flag. The BS PI calls. It's the NFL way. I think the Big name franchises get to much of this, it's why people are switching off, we want new teams to emerge, and not the same old 5 or 6 teams every year winning it. It also makes it so much tougher, when the refs are this bad, and show obvious bias.5 points

No they were not. People are going to score. Is that what brands Adams play dogsh*t? Because one of the most prolific TE's in the game scored a touchdown on him? Give me a break.5 points

how does one quantify "coaching their ass off" In another close game the Jets flushed their timeouts down the toilet in the 3rd qtr. This is coaching 101.5 points

make no mistake Todd Bowles is coaching his ass off with this team they are a talentless bunch of nobodies with no QB and they are .500. If they finish .500 that's a coach of the year effort out of this sh*tbag roster.5 points

They couldn't run the ball. McCown throw a big INT. Buster dropped a big INT. The refs took a TD away from the Jets. They had several 3rd and 2's that they didn't convert. The O\C was getting a little fancy but I think they will learn from that and keep it simple. Would have like to see more jumbo packages on 3rd and short.5 points

I expect the rule to be changed to "any player recovering the ball outside of the original ball carrier after this year". One thing to move the ball back to the 20 another to call that a ******* turn over. Honestly, will be the worst call of the year and def as mind boggling of a call i have ever seen in football.5 points

Interesting.......... What about Morton having the most limited QB in the entire NFL don't people understand this. That's not an excuse that is reality!!!!! There is a reason why McCown has lost wherever he has been and it hasn't been an accident. The coaching staff has been good. The defense and the offense have performed better than anyone in their right mind could have expected. To say that Morton is calling timeouts just to call timeouts is disingenuous. Stupid timeouts are being called because McCown has zero sense of the games and clock management after SIXTEEN years in the league and tells you all you need to know about McCown; not the coaching staff.5 points

The only winner today was the Refs. Today was hands down the worst officiating I've ever seen in 35 years of watching the game.5 points

There are no "moral victories" in sports you either win or lose. So even though the Jets put up a good fight their inability to take advantage of opportunities led to a frustrating 24-17 loss. An offensive "brown out" and an unbelievable TD reversal that left me speechless were just some of the key plays, let's take a look: - Josh McCown had his best statistical day and started out on fire. But after getting up 14-0 he allowed the offense to "brown out" on four drives before halftime: * Drive 1 - Seven yards on first down, two plays later they punt * Drive 2 - Seven yards on first down, two plays later they punt * Drive 3 - Eight yards on first down, two plays later they punt * Drive 4 - Just before half time they are almost in FG range and he forces a throw to Robby Anderson which leads to an INT. A minute later the game is tied at 14 instead of the Jets leading 17-7 at least It appeared as the game went along McCown focused more on Anderson than other receivers. NE never had an answer for Jeremy Kerley, Jermaine Kearse, Austin Seferian-Jenkins and the checkdown pass to the RB's. A more diverse approach may have helped continue the momentum the offense had early on. Also for a 38 year old QB it's inexcusable to waste two timeouts within three plays in the second half. - The OLine had no push in the running game, the pass protection was decent but with NE having no speed in their front seven it should've been better. The penalties have got to be cleaned up they are committing too many "drive killers". - Matt Forte is basically a "one trick pony" right now. He's still excellent in the screen game but he shows no burst to the hole when running the ball. Bilal Powell needs to get healthy (when???) and the run game needs to be turned over to him and Elijah McGuire. - As stated before excellent games by Kerley, Kearse and Seferian-Jenkins they needed to see more balls. I didn't want Kerley back because I wanted the young WR's to get more reps but he has been outstanding. - What's to say about the Seferian-Jenkins TD reversal? It's like the review official was looking to influence the game. I could understand if the ball came out of his hands but he bobbled it and re-gained possession. Credit to Seferian-Jenkins for the way he handled after the game, no whining or crying. - The defense did a good job early on holding NE in check and forcing two turnovers in the first half. But the DLine was bad in both run defense and generating pressure. No impact from Muhammad Wilkerson again and for a guy whose 6-3 and 330 Mike Pennel isn't as stout as I would expect from a NT. - Buster Skrine had an impactful game with an INT, a fumble recovery and decent coverage on Hogan and Amendola. But the INT that he dropped was a killer, it would've given the Jets the ball at midfield with a 14-0 lead. Instead a few plays later NE scores their first TD. When you have NE making mistakes you have to take advantange. - Darron Lee flashed today with a forced fumble, a couple of nice open field tackles and some nice coverage on NE RB's. But he has to have better ball awareness when trying to cover Gronkowski. - Jamal Adams got his introduction to Gronkowski by giving up his first TD and just missing on a PBU that would've prevented his second TD. - You have to love Ardarius Stewart's aggresiveness on kick off returns but he has to learn to stay in the end zone on "lob kicks".4 points

This is a young team with talent, character, and chemistry. I'm very optimistic to see what the team will look like next year after another good draft and what I assume will be a lot of activity in free agency. This can be a very good team in the next couple years without the #1 pick in next years draft.4 points

Your cherry picking pictures that suit your case. Your on an island on this one, you and Shane. Even Blandino and Pereira who are far more knowledgeable on this stuff than any of us disagree with you.4 points

THIS. This game would have had a different outcome if the Jets had better players at the skill positions on offense. Too many holes on the team at key positions 3 years into Mac's tenure = bad job.4 points

I am in my mid 40's, and have been a die hard Jets fan for as long as I can remember. My moods went up and down with Jets victories and losses for a few days into the week. In 1st grade, I had to go home sick the Monday after the AJ Duey debacle, yep, 1st grade I went home sick. I grew up in a house that bled green, had season tickets for years and years and years, went to every game, missed important functions for Jets games, traveled to road games, and on and on. And this is the point I am at now too. For the last few years I hadn't watched a single non Jets game, when historically I would watch every second of live NFL games I could. They are sucking the fandom out of me for many reasons. Yesterday may have been the last straw. I may become the type of fan I have historically hated. The one who will jump back on the bandwagon if the Jets ever do get good again, which is probably not going to happen. I have come to realize I enjoy talking to other Jets fans about the Jets more than I actually do watching the games anymore.4 points

This is why I don't care anymore. I still watch Jets games but don't watch any other NFL anymore. I'm close to giving up on the whole thing. I seriously don't put any energy into it anymore.4 points

Thank you.... For example....... People out here drool for Sean Payton and the Saints consistently who under perform with Drew Brees under center. Just think if Payton and the Saints were starting McCown instead of Brees; and even better what if Brees were on the Jets? It is a good possibility that we would be undefeated! Yea Bowles is coaching the heck out of this team and a poor tackle or inopportune timeout calls by McCown doesn't change that...4 points

They literally did everything they could to get Hack to take the job. He's still 3rd string. And, they've completely given up on Petty. McCown is the best QB on the roster, by a lot. The good news is we got Jamal Adams instead of Deshaun Watson, so no big deal.4 points

Bowles horrendous clock management cost us about 40 seconds and a 2 min warning clock stopage. You always take your TOs on plus side of 2 min warning that is coaching 101. By "saving" the TO we started drive with 1:52 and the 2 min warning lost to the change of possession. Had he called TO after 1st or 2nd down we would have gotten ball back with about 2:40 and the 2 min warning. That's indefensible and embarrassing for a 3rd year coach. I would hire John Morton as head coach and fire Bowles at the end of the season. No matter how much Bowles "overachieves" with a at best 8-8 record we will always be at a disadvantage with him leading the team.3 points

The overall lack of young talent on the roster coupled with starting a 38 year old QB is not ideal. The new safeties have a combined 1 interception between them and have both been burned for multiple touchdowns. Williams has been invisible all year. Hansen and Stewart are behind Kearse and Kerley. Mauldin and Jenkins are stiffs. Burris was just benched for an UDFA. This is year 3 and there are bandaid players all over the roster on short contracts with zero promising players behind them. Not to mention, passing on Watson. And then there's even the two second rounders who have given completely nothing aside from a backbreaking fumble 2 years ago against Buffalo. The win variance right now is out of wack. Mccown is a good dude and I like having him here, but what the hell are we actually doing? Poor drafts, no QB, a massive contract to a player who turned into a Haynesworth, a coach who still cant manage the clock correctly. Pardon the negativity I guess.3 points

Culture of Losing (tm) seems to be a popular idea amongst some. Losing begets losing and continued decline. Competitiveness begets improvement. People want an easy button. There is no easy button in the NFL. Sam Darnold will not turn this team into a "20 year" 12 win a year team like some seem to think. If only it were that easy. Fans should reject the culture of losing IMO. It IS better to be mediocre (i.e. 8-8) and try to build on that than perennially be 2-12 and praying THIS year the draft will save us/be the miracle/etc.3 points
-
I really do like how the team has responded to the call. Not to beat a dead horse because the guy isn't even in the league anymore but under Rex you could see this team playing the whole victim, woe is me card. Instead the team has come out and said acknowledged that while they think it was a bad call they had plenty of opportunities and that call would not have guaranteed a win. You can get on Bowles for some of his in game time management, which don't get me wrong is still a huge part of being a good coach but I will say this. The guy has been successful at changing the culture, he has a team that is playing hard for him and thinks they can win regardless of the noise and that says a lot.3 points
-
I agree... The Jets announcers after the game were saying to Jet callers; " what you think that it is a conspiracy?"; and "they must have seen something we didn't" ... Well it is now the next day and there aren't any other VIEWS OR SHOTS OR VIDEO that justifies that FREAKING CALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NFL stooges they are until their sycophantic behavior destroys the game we love...3 points
-
uh the time management was when mccown was forced to call 2 time outs because he couldn't get the play off. even if your recollection is right the series was two patsie runs followed by an incomplete pass. that brought them to 2:05 when the patsies punted. the jets took over with 1:53 left. so where's the beef? at that point in the game they only had 1 time out left due to mccown.3 points

I was so mad that I got 2-3 hrs of sleep and have school and work today...ugh Big downfall of the time diff in the U.K. I don’t usually get this mad about losses anymore, but I was beside myself with some of those calls.3 points

How is there no offensive PI call on Gronk for pushing Adams and then covering his face/grabbing him in a headlock while he’s tracking the ball?3 points

Watching the game for obvious reasons today and pulling for you guys to beat the Pats. That turnover is prob the worst NFL call I have ever seen. I hate pointing at the refs but this game should be tied at a minimum. The PI on you DB was BS, Gronk should have been called for offense PI. The picked up flag on a helmet to helmet hit was also crap. Fix in in. Just wanted to share my frustration. Good luck the rest of the way guys. Really happy to see you guys balling this year BTW.3 points
