Why do you hate the Jets?

You are once again, as usual, as always are totally out to lunch in your musings. You have little horse blinders on and view the world that way and cannot fathom anyone else viewing the world different. Almost without exception everyone that is on this forum loves the New York Jets and wants them to win the super bowl and be good long term. Blasting an organization that is 'getting it wrong' most of the time is not hating it. If anything the fans on here who soft coat everything and think the team is doing just swell all the time are the poorest fans because they are content with being lousy to mediocre. If you are content with being lousy or mediocre you get what you deserve. I'm sure everything I've just said will go flying by on the outside of the blinders and you will have no idea what I am talking about.

Why do you hate the Jets?

We just watched back to back 5 win seasons and are still posting here. Most of us are just frustrated that the team basically keeps ignoring offense in an era where the game is skewed towards scoring touchdowns and that the great level of investment in defense isn't resulting in, you know, a good defense. Most of all, if we knew how to quit the Jets, we wouldn't be here. So you're stuck with us. And perhaps, more unfortunately, we're stuck with you as well.

Cousins is the only one with multiple bidders. All the other QBs mentioned are bidding against themselves Cousins will become the highest paid QB because of that Fans will shake their fists, complain, but it's just the reality. If you don't get cousins you have to hope the rookie QB pans out..... In 3 years when you may not have a job anymore. If the Jets sign cousins, it will be amusing to see all the armchair GMs that would have been able to get him for less.

    Cut Robby Anderson NOW

I hope he is prosecuted to the full extent of the law. It's tiring how often famous people get off when the rest of us, in the same spot, would get screwed hard. He choose to do what he did, now he should face the full consequences for what he did. His being a Jet or not does not make a bit of difference to me in this issue. I'd feel and have felt the exact same when it was players from other teams. Only the worst kind of hypocrite would want different treatment of him because he's a Jet.

Think salary caps are a joke. But the drop in TV ratings, what ever the reasons, should be cause for concern. Rights fees for the first time ever may not be going up for sports programming across the board. But the NFLPA, s poorly run as it is, would rather cut off limbs than agree to a cut in the cap. May not happen soon, but it's out there as the broadcast contracts expire. If ESPN/Disney is losing money of Monday night and the Thursday games are a ratings disaster, that is an earthquake crossed with a hurricane debacle for the NFL's long term bottom line. Some things they can change-stand for the anthem, perhaps(as an aside, the demographics-middle and working class white guys- of the NFL audience has made this stupid; with a commissioner with half a brain it could have been addressed)? But others, like the crapitude of the games, and young people cutting the cord and not watching TV sports, those may be long term realities. Taking a huge step back though; Cousins is not coming here if Arizona or Denver or some other south or west based team offer him big money. If the money is all roughly the same (without NJ taxes) this is an awful situation for a veteran QB.

They’re not trading him. There aren’t 5 players on this team as it is. The last thing they’re going to do is trade one of them while his trade value is at an all-time low. Plus the odds are his max suspension number is likely around 4 games. If there was - or if it turns out there is - video, then possibly a couple more, but my guess is 2 games or 4 games. I’d also just like to add this is where it might have been useful if we had drafted some young receivers that warranted more playing time than other teams’ castoffs...or a HC who put them out there for more plays just to give them snaps and targets just for the sake of getting them snaps and targets. Panic meter might be a bit lower.

If you had a child who constantly gets into trouble, under-performs, and squanders all their potential when they have all the support they could ever want, you'd understand what its like to love something and still be critical. Not saying my kids. My kids are great. Best kids ever. Stop looking at me like that. I mean, they're turning things around now. the future looks bright. And prison isn't that big a deal--lots of people go! Some of them really like it! so. yeah, not talking about my kids here. At all. You're just inferring.

QB - At least two. We need a starter (even if the team decides to being back mccown) and for sure a backup, I see no viable backup between petty and Hack. Oline - Absolute minimum of one, that being Center which was atrocious last year. I actually think we need two more good pieces this year but an arguemtn could be made that the Guards and Tackles are good enough for another year. RB - At least one. It will be a disaster if the team retains Forte when we are hearing about wanting to run more. TE - At least one. Whether we retain ASJ ore go in another direction we need at least one starting TE. WR - At least one. The Anderson thing just opened up a hole on the team. I don't think we had a true #1 guy before but we for sure do not now. DL - At least one. Mo wilk is a goner so we need to get at least one staring dlineman, which is a sad indictment of the team after what we have put into the position. ILB - At least one. Davis is a FA, we should not over pay or more importantly over term this guy even if he had a good year last year. In any case with him a FA now there is a big hole OLB - We have had a hole at pass rushing OLB/De for years and years. This is a gaping hole. CB - At least one starting quality CB. Even if we retain Claiborne we have a huge hole on the other side. Amazing that we have so many huge holes that have to be filled. These are must haves, the would like to have list is larger.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins celebrates a milestone -- sober for a year Tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins, who spoke publicly throughout the season about his battle with alcohol, celebrated one year of sobriety on Saturday by posting an inspirational message on his Instagram account. their belief in me, not as an athlete but as a human. My friends who knew when to keep me in line and would keep me constant. The fans from all over the world who although I may not have responded, their stories of being sober inspire me more than words can describe. And as I put the final X through number 365 I did the same thing when I started this journey; reflect. Reflect on all the blessings that I have. Reflect on the fact that I’m not the only one out there battling this and I’m not alone. Reflect that I have a platform that has allowed me to inspire and be an example. Reflect on the next 365 days of continuing to be sober! . . 📸: @sam.maller . #365#Complete #Sobriety #MyThoughts #MyWords #Growth#Blessed #Thankful #LaserFocus #ODAAT 5 HOURS AGO Seferian-Jenkins, one of the bright spots last season for the New York Jets, recounted the past year with this interesting detail: "I wrote the numbers 1 through 365 down on a piece of paper as a countdown. Giving myself the reminder that I needed to take one day at a time. That it was a journey not just a chapter in a story. I reflected on all those that I had hurt and the person who I had been hurting the most through it all, myself. Each day I would put an X through the day of sobriety I was on. Today, number 365." He goes on to thank his family, the Jets organization, coaches and teammates for their support. The Jets took a chance on Seferian-Jenkins, claiming him on waivers in September, 2016 -- only days after he was arrested for DUI in Tampa and immediately released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After a nondescript 2016, Seferian-Jenkins set career highs with 50 catches and 357 yards last season. He becomes a free agent on March 14.

The concept that a 5-11 team passed the ball too much is the most ludicrous thing I have ever heard. Winning teams have a higher rush percentage because you run the ball when ahead and pass when behind in the 4th and good teams are ahead in the 4th and bad teams like us behind. Holy crap I cannot believe that we extended the complete dullard of a head coach we have.

The shrine game is considered to be 4th through 7th rounders. For the big guns the senior bowl is next week. We’ll be able to see Baker Mayfield and Josh Allen at the senior bowl. With that said some good players play in the shrine game. I remember when Leon Washington was the star of the game and jimmy garopolo started at the shrine game too. It’s for the diehard draftnicks to watch the shrine game but I know many on this sight are just that.

Why do you hate the Jets?

I started out liking the team about thirty years ago. That like grew into a genuine love. The love manifested into obsession. Unfortunately that obsession has turned into hate after the team continues to flounder decade after decade. I refuse to quit them though. I know it in my heart the second I do, they’ll win it all and I don’t want them to win without me.

Why do you hate the Jets?

This times a million. Oh my god what an idiotic original post and the true definition of SOJF! This is exactly what is wrong with our beloved team, the acceptance of losing that goes on year after year. The OP guy must be stewed or something if he (or any others who have bled green for eons) enjoyed the absolute $hit show of the past 2 1/16th seasons. The fact is nobody knows to what degree a fans passions are, but I can say for myself, I once kicked in a 36" big screen TV because of the f*cking Dan Marino spike. The OP was probably too young to witness that, lucky for him. You want to call me out you fake assed fan, I dare you. I have given heart, soul, liver, kidneys, gall bladder, and my god damned spleen to this fockcokta franchise so don't you dare rail on me or anyone like me who is tired of watching crap, hates Todd Bowltite and will not accept losing like you and the entire organization does.

I don't hate the team. I hate the ownership, often the GM and HC, some of the players, MetLife stadium, nearly all of the beat writers, and definitely some of the fans. Other than that, it's just a cuddle-fest.

Today! Cut: Wilkerson, Forte, Powell, Carpenter, Ijalana, Smith, Mauldin, Skrine Cap: ~115 Resign: The kicker FA: Cousins (28, 5/90/150) - Basically a 3 year deal, the length of time the cap is flying up. Call it the cost of ~50 years of ineptitude at one position. Nowell (16, 5/51/80) - Out after 2020 Jensen (10, 4/21/40) Out after 2019 Burton (8, 4/25/36) - Out after 2020 Bell (16, 5/54/84) - Out after 2020 Tyler Eifert (4, 2/5/12) Gaines (13, 5/32/65) - Out after 2019 Cap: ~15 Draft: 1: Brian O’Neill OT Pitt - Cousins’ new Trent Williams. 2: Anthony Miller WR Memphis / James Washington WR OkSU 2: Quenton Meeks CB Stanford 3: Mason Rudolph QB OkSU 4: Marquis Haynes DPR 5: Greg Stroman/Brandon Facyson CB VT 6: Royce Freeman RB Oregon / Pick your favorite late round RB 7: Coleman Shleton C Washington QB: Cousins, Rudolph, Hack/Petty OL: O’Neill, Norwell, Jensen, Winters, Beachum, Shell, Shelton Weaponz: Bell, Miller, Burton, Freeman, Anderson?, shotgun approach DL: Williams, McLeoden, Simon, randoms, Haynes LB: Lee, Jenkins, Martin, Haynes DB: LoM, Maye, Gaines, Meeks, Roberts, shotgun approach Overall steaming hot take: Everything you need to get Los Yets ready for 2018 and beyond. There’s a highly qualified QB, a serious QB prospect, a now deep and young OL, a dangerous duo at RB with like a master/apprentice thing going, pass catchers at every position, and a bunch of pass defenders to stop other passing offenses.

The running game was inconsistent throughout 2017 under Morton, and Bowles wants the team to run more. The Jets dropped back to pass 156 more times than they attempted runs, an average of 9.75 times more per game (eight out of 13 teams that had a smaller gap than the Jets made the Playoffs). The Jets are seeking a new offensive coordinator that meshes with the philosophy that Bowles wants to implement. The person they hire will tell the tale of the offseason plans for the Jets. It’s a very simple puzzle to solve. If the Jets go outside the organization, both Christian Hackenberg and Bryce Petty are done with the team. Petty is likely done anyway. There’s another option that will tell a lot. The Jets could stay in-house and promote Jeremy Bates, a man who has been a lower level assistant in the NFL since 2002. If they elevate Bates to offensive coordinator, it will show that they still believe in Christian Hackenberg and want to move forward with him. Their biggest move of the offseason is based on who the quarterback is in 2018. This move will set that in place. Yeah, that red part is not true.

Intelligent analysis if Anderson caught his wife cheating. No excuse for his actions but his reaction is now understandable. The league will probably hit him with a 2 game suspension and he needs to enroll in a anger management course

This is where you are totally wrong, coaches do have to be baby sitters at times. Bowles has coddled vets he favours since he got here. As for Mac? Yes it has to do with the Gm because it is his job to draft guys or sign guys that are not nut jobs. He was given major cred for finding this UDFA gem, now the gem is going to be suspended part of next year.
