  1. Ian Rapoport‏Verified account @RapSheet FollowingFollowing @RapSheet More New #Jets coach Adam Gase is on the verge of a big hire: Former #Browns interim coach Gregg Williams is in talks with Gase to become their new defensive coordinator, sources say. Things are progressing in this direction, and those involved believe it’ll get done.

  2. Gase and Williams...anyone think we’re still going to have players showing up late for meetings or missing them entirely?

  3. We are going from Gladys Knight to Slayer in terms of coaching personality.

  4. Brian Schottenheimer has been employed by a major football organization since his mid-teens, but it’s the conspiracy to protect the five working African American coaches that riles @Jetster up.

  5. On the one hand we have Romo, Peyton and Sam saying gase is a good hire On the other hand we have Twitter, people who make a living giving hot takes on the jets, trolls and that guy you know at work saying it was a bad hire Who ya got?

  6. I went to bed last night depressed, Chris and mac had managed to do the most Jetsy thing ever and mess up getting McCarthy. I stared at the fan and couldn’t sleep but then I started thinking... 1) we got a guy who is offensive minded and had been a head coach in this league before. Monkey, rhule, Kliff I was a hard Pass on all. We needed a guy who knew how to lead team, even it wasn’t always perfect. 2) I realized there is a reason McCarthy wasn’t getting interviews. He apparently burned a lot of bridges and maybe wasn’t adjusting with the league. In a rapidly changing and younger league that could of become problematic. 3) Gase needs no schooling up on the AFC east and our rivals. He also has had a pretty good division record in his last 3 years. 4) this hire puts pressure on mac to win now and spend money. He knows gase in some ways was gamble and will be held fully responsible if it doesn’t pan out. 5) we always seem to like our hc hires like we liked Bowles. They never pan out, maybe the guy we didn’t like at first will.... I feel better today. I feel optimistic I am ready to Jet up again! 2019 we coming! Jet up!

  7. Most important stat is that his name is not Todd Bowles

  8. Too late Capt Douchebag already hire Dildo Baggins as OC.

  9. After watching the sh-t show of a staff Bowles assembled here, I think Johnson had every right to question Rhule's proposed staff and nix any job offers if he wasn't satisfied. I mean the dude had to carry Bowles for 5 extra weeks vs. firing him at the Bye because there was no one on Bowles' staff remotely capable of running the team as interim coach.

  10. I like Rhule, and I understand his desire to pick the staff. But I also understand the Jets ensuring that Darnold has a good coach given the lack of experience with Rhule in NFL. If Rhule's option was Kevin Gilbride's son for OC, (TE coach for bears currently) as was rumored that may not have sufficed.

  16. How come the 7 other teams didn't hire Mike McCarthy? Why are fans and media bashing the NY Jets for doing what 7 other teams did? Let's give Adam Gase a chance here. joewilly12

  18. Have to hand it to Maccagnan, he survived a miserable 4 years and was able to hire a new scapegoat for the next 4 years. All the attention will be on Gase now. Everyone is demanding to win now and if that doesn’t happen it’s all going to fall on Gase. Mac will draft one good defensive lineman and the Johnsons will give him a 5 year extension. Great times...

  20. Really good video breaking down the future relationship between Gase and Darnold. They make it sound like it has a lot of potential. I enjoyed it anyway.

  22. That is a part of the process., whom will you hire and what are the qualifications. It appeared that may have been a deal breaker. maybe with an experienced coach, they get that lee-way. A new coach, I can understand the Jets qualms. I also get Rhule's perspective. There just wasn't a fit. Both move on.

  26. The Jets won and I figured they must be good. The wife and I love New York and had been there a few months before. With the Jets winning I figured they must be decent. Turns out I was wrong, but hey ho. Where’s the fun in always winning? 😂 My soccer team (West Ham) even sing a song about “fortunes always hiding, I’ve looked everywhere” and “and like my dreams, they fade and die”. Jets are about right for me. Those who experience failure, appreciate victory much more.

  27. Remember at the end of the movie they said what each of them went onto in life? Yeah you know where I'm going with this: Kent Dorfman: became OC of the NYJ lol

  28. Seriously love this. Love it. You have to switch styles when you change regimes. And having Kacy run a defensive meeting vs having Williams run it, yeah that's an upgrade.

  30. Fair point but it's still .734 higher than any of ours and he's marrying Miss America. Good dude, decent athlete. Kinda cool to see a nice guy finish first if you ask me.

  32. If it was me, and I felt so strongly about this, I wouldn't be posting about it like a Drama Queen. I'd go find another team. But not you. You'll stick around and complain all day every day. Because that's what you like to do.

  34. Damn, poor kid. Admit sometimes he talks too much - just my opinion, but he appears to be a good guy and a fantastic player. Every team needs a Jamal Adams, and he certainly takes the pressure off Sam as a vocal leader. Kid is still young, and he’s passionate, bet Sam loves the guy, and that they will work together well as co-leaders.

  35. I love that Gase can focus solely on the Offense and Williams on the defense. I love that both are absolutely no nonsense, in your face, get after it, Alpha males. Jamal Adams is going to love Williams. Trumane is going to hate him. People are underrating Gase as an offensive mind. If we have a good free agency and draft we can turn this around quick.

  37. If you are going to potentially hire a coach to run your entire team, but don't trust him to hire his own staff, then why are you talking to him in the first place?

  38. Rhule will be a good coach in the league and somebody will get lucky to have him. Totally understand the Jets apprehension because we have everything riding on Darnold

  39. I want Gregg Williams, so if history is any guide, the Jets will hire Rob Ryan as DC.

  40. Fangio is the Dodge Stratus of this list. Hes the Toyota Camry. Zero risk. Zero pussy. LOL Lets stick to the car theme. Because I'm bored... Kingsbury is a rad as **** BMX bike. LaFleur is a Chevy Camaro....with the eco package V-6 and automatic transmission. Arians is a Cadillac CTS. A 2008 CTS. Kitchens is a sleeper late 80s body Mustang with a supercharged big block built by a meth addict. McCarthy is a BMW 7 series. Nice, reliable, untrendy. Gase is a Ferrari. Bad ass when its working, high maintenance, pain in the ass shop queen if its out of tune. Taylor is my 9 year olds Green Machine....

  41. I'm not sure how meaningful those stats are. If in 2018 he was 28th in pass calls and 25th in run calls - when obviously those are the only 2 choices - implies that everyone is all bunched up close together. Also, the league averages for passing was 50% in 2016, but 47% in 2017, then 50% in 2018? Again, that variation makes me think that stat isn't that useful.
