To all the brave men and women who gave their lives for the last 243 years so we can live in the greatest country the world has ever known, thank you!!!!Happy Memorial Da22 points

It's clear that we need an appreciation/film breakdown thread for Jamal Adams because alot of Jets fans simply dont see what Adams provides to this team on the weekly basis and the fact that he's the best player on this team. The disrespect of this guy and what he brings to the table because of Macc's poor decision making is just insane. Before I seen folks knocking him as some sort of overrated or low impact guy <<<< @dbatesman , but now folks are taking shots at his all pro status. It's time for folks to let it go already with Watson and Mahomes and stop blaming this15 points

Red Sox fans to this day still hate his guts. Pretty stupid and pretty if you ask me. My condolences to the Buckner family....9 points

Yeah I know, cool story bro and all that. I’m normally not one to get all star-struck but I admit ,I was today, If you don’t care, no worries, but for what it’s worth he was a genuinely lovely guy, very humble, very polite, very approachable(both him and his entourage of about 5 guys) was pleasantly surprised. I think I expected an absolute diva, couldn’t have been further from the truth I told him I was a Jets fan and he said: “I’ll see you week 2” And i just thought “oh sh*t”9 points

That's a really good piece, and very encouraging to read. Gase is a breath of fresh air for this team, and he is doing what needs to be done to turn the team around. Thanks for posting the link.9 points

RIP. Great ball player and one of the good guys who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.7 points

I mean if it were 12 to 4 INT's your point about 3x would be interesting, but 3-1. Meh. I like how you refer to 3.5 as "almost as many" as 5.5 but 3 as 3 times as many as 1. Doesn't seem biased at all. Jamal Adams has 100% more forced fumbles and fumble recoveries. Am I doing it right?7 points

Leo is a solid NFL player and good guy, the kind of player you want to fill your roster with. He was the 6th overall, wish he was Aaron Donald or Sapp, but he's not. The pick is done, its old news. Is he worth top 5 DT money? No, but giving him away or letting him walk for nothing is stupid. Going to be interesting, but I don't think he's Mo Wilk... Its a decision for a year from now. And no, guys, hes not a "Jag". McClendon and Pennel are Jags. CJ Mosely was a Jag. Leo is a solid, borderline Pro Bowler. This roster isn't good enough to give away guys7 points

Won a batting title and virtually always a .300 hitter....he was a better ball player than the majority of his peers. Totally unfair for him to be remembered negatively for one single play.6 points

I don't know how this Gase era will turn out, but I do think he is a very smart guy. That might not translate to wins but I'd rather take my chances on someone like that.6 points

Saw this on Insta. Armed Forces Day- The day to appreciate Americans currently serving in uniform. Vereran’s Day-The day to honor Americans who once served in uniform. Memorial Day- The day to remember Americans who never got to take the uniform off.6 points

Jet fans dumping on Jamal Adams. Cant make sh*t this up.6 points

Never gets to that point if Calvin Schiraldi doesn't peg the suck meter...5 points

I’ll always remember him as the hero that caught that baby thrown from a burning building...sure it was a Curb Your Enthusiasm episode but hey at least he embraced a failure and owned it. Not many would. RIP5 points

That's the quote that excites me most. I'm not hearing this is what we do - try to beat us. I'm hearing a HC who will game plan to each opponent and to utilize what his players do best - this is the complete opposite of the previous two Jets Hc's5 points

1, Jamal is awesome, and his numbers would be that much better on the Chargers, Bears, Vikings...this isnt even a discussion 2. Jamal's greatness will never be appreciated until the jets win games4 points

Derwin is phenomenal but @Scoop24 does have a point. Just look at the talent that makes up that Chargers defense. 1. Joey Bosa (Pro Bowler) 2. Melvin Ingram (Pro Bowler) 3. Casey Hayward (All Pro) 4. Desmond King (All Pro) 5. Adrian Phillips (All Pro) Again, Derwin is a phenomenal talent, but how much easier must it be for him to do what he does when he has a pro bowl pass rusher, pro bowl linebacker 2 all pro cornerbacks and an all pro safety? The Chargers are able to maximize Derwin's talent and ability because they have top tier talent aroun4 points

And yet they do same exact things . Tell me more tho4 points

Hope everyone has a safe and happy memorial day. Thanks to all who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we can live in this great country. Sent from my LGUS991 using JetNation.com mobile app4 points

Fine article, but what you draw from it is that Gase knows exactly what he wants reporters to hear and gives it to them in a way that's mutually beneficial, which will serve him well. Gase served up a litany of platitudes with one relatively newsy item (not hating Miami) and Breer still gave him top billing in SI. In NY, that will go a long way toward engendering positive coverage from the beat hacks--they only get mad when you freeze them out, otherwise they don't care what you tell them as long as it's something they can print before hitting the Applebee's.4 points

Look back at the 2015 NFL draft and who was picked after the Jets at 6. It was a really weak first round, if I could go back I would pick Leo all over again. 7. WR Kevin White, bust 8. LB Vick Beasly, bust 9. T Erick Flowes, bust 10. Todd Gurley, amazing but, but I also see the logic of not picking a running back at 6 with prior injury history The next really good player not a rb picked was Marcus Peters, 18th to the Chiefs.4 points

Couple things: 1. **** our media. Every single one of them can go to hell. 2. Sam Darnold wants it. Watching tape of Manning and even asking what type of questions Manning asked is impressive. I truly feel like this offense is going to fit him unlike last years offense. 3. I’m not worried about CJ Mosley’s contract. Did we overpay? I would say yes but he’s a productive player. Sometimes contracts are handed out and those players aren’t worth a a fraction of the money (see Trumaine Johnson). 4. I’m so excited for Bell. Just the thought of him going in motion with a LB fol3 points

Derwin very well could be. He put in that work as a rookie. No matter what talent is around you, you have to be pretty good to do what he did. Im just stating the fact that Adams was the only elite talent on the team, not just the defense. To put up numbers that could even be comparable shows how much Adams balled out last year.3 points

He was obviously going half speed when he tackled the Pats mascot at the Pro Bowl.3 points

Jamal is good, and a good locker room/culture guy.....but Derwin James is a much better safety for the modern game.3 points

Good thing he is such a game changer, this teams defense could have been rated 34th in the league instead of 29th if not for him. We got rid of Damon Harrison and brought in a 6th overall run stopper instead.3 points

Great read. Thanks for sharing. The more things we learn about Sam, the more it makes me think he is “the guy.”3 points

You can disagree with what he wrote but this is over the line. He was basically saying who we are as people is more important than what some people are famous for. No reason to make Mother jokes at him.3 points
-
Nothing he can do? If he makes a pro bowl and gets to double digits in sacks. 2 pro bowls in 5 years, while being coached under Todd Bowles and Kacey Rodgers.... Also, don't forget that the year before drafting Darnold, we completely tore down the roster and literally attempted to be bad so we can get a good draft pick for one of the top 3 quarterbacks. Trough all that sh*t, you would have a player who stayed healthy and good off the field, he also loves NY and the Jets. I am not sure what more a player would have to do, if he has a monster year, who ever this next G3 points

People need too forget about the #6 pick thing. What is his value now not knowing all the salaries my guess he falls somewhere in the 10 mil or just above. I think this is what a player with his talent and age would command. Just a guess.3 points
