  1. My father lost his battle with cancer this past Sunday night. He was the toughest man I know, and put up a fight until the end. Unfortunately we did not get to watch one last game together, but I was sure to let him now that they did win two in row for him. He is the reason I am a Jets fan (yes, its fault lol, but I would not change it for the world). Although we moved to FL when I was young, we would often spend summers back in NY, and one of my fondest memories was when he took me to Hofstra for training camp in 86. It was the first time in my life that I met any professional athletes i

  2. The subject says it all. I hate doing these threads. We prefer to let people sort things out. Simply put, there are too many people fighting and attacking each other. So, we have no choice but to be more heavy handed. Welcome back warnings, locked threads and banned posters. We don't want to do this stuff. But the mods have been instructed to just ban those that can't follow the few rules we have: No politics, no religion, no cursing\nudity and NO PERSONAL ATTACKS. Thanks!

  3. Bell has been arguably one of the best team players on this roster. His running style doesn’t match the blocking scheme and that’s on coaching. Gase still hasn’t used Bell in the passing game a lot, something I think most fans thought would have happened. The line is terrible and Darnold had struggled his first few games back from the Mono. A couple wins isn’t gonna make me change my thoughts on Gase. Offense has looked a bit better but once he actually starts incorporating the best player he has on offense, maybe then I’ll consider it.

  7. It’s not just the childish bickering, it’s also the same posters spamming each thread with the same garbage they’re posting in every thread. It’s gets old and tiresome. From my perspective, that’s where this all starts. You can’t have a single conversation with those select few ruining each thread which leads to this nonsense taking over every topic. It’s a hard board to participate in these days. That said, thank you @Maxman and the mods for doing something about it. Thankless job but it needs to be policed.

  8. So when you signed up I knew you were a fake account. You don't make a big effort at hiding it. Many of your posts gave it away but as long as you were getting along with everyone and playing by the rules no worries. You post this and I say okay, I will take the two and a half minutes needed to figure out who you are. Figured it out and as you predicted in another post in this thread, you are no banned permanently. You will sign up again. You will send 50 emails begging to come back like you did each of the last 5 times you were banned. But I want you to know I take your words s

  10. I’m just spitballing here but, what if an “offensive genius” quit trying to square peg this round hole roster and designed an offense around the strengths and weaknesses that it has? I’m probably just crazy!

  11. I saw a Sports Illustrated article about how the Jets have a lot of money on IR so I decided to graph out all the teams in the NFL. I included the PUP and NFI list as well however I did not include Dead Cap which would swing the graph slightly, especially with the Colts and Dolphins. Thought you guys may enjoy it, not sure if it tells us anything though. edit - Numbers provided by OverTheCap.com edit 2 - Added a second graph that removes Big Ben, Alex Smith, Cam Newton and adds in CJ Mosley. It's easy to see why those teams are bad since they are missing their QB, we ha

  13. His running style doesn’t match the personnel we currently have. He was never a speedster, his greatest ability is patience and vision. As we upgrade our oline, you’ll be thankful we have him. Plus he’s an amazing receiver

  14. Quinnen Williams. Rookie. #3 overall pick in draft: 347 defensive snaps. 20 tackles, 10 solo tackles, 1.5 sacks, 2 TFL, 4 QB hits. Kyle Phillips. Rookie UDFA. 375 defensive snaps,, 31 tackles, 18 solo tackles, 0.5 sacks, 6 TFL, 4 QB hits. We are getting more production from a UDFA than the 3rd overall pick in the draft. Quinnen will likely be the better player someday, but its not unreasonable to have expected more out of him than we have seen so far. And credit to Kyle Phillips for playing his ass off to not only make the team as an undrafted guy, but to be regular part o

  16. Here's a nice rule I've learned about commenting and such on the internet: Take 90 seconds to breathe before you reply or say something to someone... A lot of "fights" happen because people just blindly see red after the first few seconds of seeing something they disagree with. We're overcome with a sense of urgency to respond and defend... So next time you're ready to battle or attack someone (here or wherever else), just minimize the window, take your hands off the keyboard for 90 seconds and let your composure comeback. You might still disagree with the person but I think you'll

  17. Well Beerfish it’s rather easy to build around a strong safety. All you need is to add two very good cornerbacks, an elite edge rusher, another solid edge rusher, a dominant nose tackle, a hard-charging ILB, and then on offense you’ll need the requisite personnel to score 27+ points per game and then boom, you’ll have enough attendant personnel On the roster to allow your strong safety to shine. Very simple.

  22. Been here almost 7 years. Not sure I see what you’re talking about poster who signed up here last month. He’s even told Tom to cool it before and Tom is a big part of this site(LOLLLL) but really, there’s never been any rose-colored glasses or favorites around here. If you are liked, it’s most likely because you play by the rules and are a good poster. Max has no reason to turn his cheek at negative posters here. If something is burdening the community, he addresses it. It doesn’t matter who it is. A lot of these guys who have been around since JI don’t get themselves in troubl

  24. How do you build a defense around a safety? Someone tell me. They have already built it around him, he blitzes half the plays or more. When you are always blitzing a safety you give things up, often big plays

  25. This is pretty telling. It's obvious watching the games that it's brutal but it's good to be reminded it's literally the worst situation in the league. I genuinely wonder what the Darnold detractors expect from a second year QB in these circumstances. I f*cking hate Mike Maccagnan. Hate him.

  27. Banned poster gets banned. banned poster emails the site. Banned poster blames left leaning politics. I don't even know what that means. Don't explain it to me. But politics are to blame even when we don't allow politics here. Good stuff. Never look at the mirror and accept blame. That is the world we are living in.

  38. Thank you for all of the kind words and support. I do not post a lot, but I have been reading the site on a regular basis for about 9 years. I never thought I would ever post something personal on an internet site with so many people that I have never met in person. But after all this time, it feels like you get to know people and we all share a common bond of being Jets fans. I know it gets a little argumentative at times with different opinions on certain topics, but it is comforting to know that when it really matters, people will still take the time to offer support and or share

  41. Too bad for us - stuck with one of the elite players in the league. Once the line gets stronger we'll be ecstatic he wasn't moved. He's still young.

  42. Gase implemented a blocking scheme that his o-line took 11 weeks to figure out the protections (stop free rushers all game), made the o-line generally worse & doesn't fit his elite RB's running style. The same elite RB is one of the best receiving RB's of ALL TIME and he's rarely used in the passing game. Yea - Gase was right. The guy is just a terrible coach.
