  1. Great job by Benigno, cut that hack "reporter" right off his show. Hope he never is invited back. Virtually all of the Jet beat reporters just carry water for the Jet Owners, they might as well be employees of the Jets. McCarthy should have been named coach. I don't care about the calls that the "game has passed him by" (Green Bay had had some awful drafts that left the team without a Defense), McCarthy built Aaron Rodgers from "the ground up", totally changed his mechanics until they were perfection. Gase's virtual only "success" in the league is being a coach on a squad that

  4. IMHO This is the NY Jets #1 epic failure of the 2019 season. Above all else the Jets signed one of the best RB’s in the NFL. Once again who is to blame? Gase or the roster or both. Last week against the winless Bengals who were ranked close to last in stopping the run game Bell had 10 touches for 32 yards running mostly at the middle of the line. The Bengals least vulnerable avenue. Gase has not found a way to use Bell to the Jets advantage after 12 games. Sorry I forgot it’s not Gases fault, it’s our crappy O-lines fault. If Gase is the Offensive genius he thinks he is I would ex

  5. So the NFL 100 thing hasn't been all that great because they chickened out on ranking 1-10. But they just did Ed Reed, and Belichick basically called him the best player of all time. Have never seen Belichick so enamored with a player...anyways... The Jets, Rex story was interesting. The first Jets practice Reed was at was a walk through (Reed was done at the point keep in mind)- all of the Jets players were dicking around, wearing headphones...just not taking things seriously....and he went ballistic . Cursed out Rex, the players etc and walked off the practice field. Everything in Colli

  6. My favorite NFL defender ever. People poo poo on his time here, and yea he was definitely a shell of his former self. But because of Ed’s presence/covering his backend, Dee Milliner recorded dpow and a dpom awards playing alongside Ed. Otherwise, his entire career was a bust. That’s a microcosm of just how special Ed was. Raised the level of the entire defense, and was a complete beast himself.

  7. Can we wait until the kid has a decent OL before we give up on him. He is only 22. When the kid does have decent protection he looks really good. He even looks good when he doesn’t which is a lot. He has made mistakes but he is still a kid learning in a bad situation. Also everyone crying about Mahomes needs to understand that he was brought in a great situation immediately, a really good team. If Mahomes was drafted by the Jets he probably wouldn’t be nearly as good that’s just being realistic

  8. I used to love Benigno and his wife Terry LOL! But seriously.. these days he is an uninformed mountain of misinformation. He certainly does not represent ME as a Jets fan. A few years ago Joe started throwing out names of players and was clueless to whether or not we drafted them or they were free agents or we traded for them. He's half a Jets fan these days. Your career has been absolutely Stellar bro!!! Now it's time to retire...please.

  11. I don't know why everyone is so worried that Benigno doesn't represent them. I don't care about any of that. I just get a kick out of listening to him because he's really passionate about the team and I don't think it's an act. I think he's over-the-top sometimes (like this one) but isn't he on a station called "The Fan"? Btw, does Jerome From Manhattan represent all Yankee and Knicks fans?

  14. Above all of the ills of mccagnan you can place the CJohnson for not firing him when he fired bowles and letting him have one last draft and fa period to screw the jets for a few more years. All the ills of this franchise can be traced to the top of the food chain.

  16. 1- Trumaine Johnson (and it's not even close) 2- Drafting Lee/Hackenburg back to back. 3- Ignoring OL for years 4- Letting Demario Davis walk in FA 5- Drafting Quinnen Williams. Trading up for Sam Darnold belongs nowhere near this conversation, that's simply trolling. Out of 13,000 mistakes Mac made and you want to put him on a top 5? GTFO

  20. There was a longer convo that isn't part of that link. Costello said he doesn't think Mike McCarthy (who Joe wanted) would've had a better record than Gase. However, isn't that ignoring the job that Brian Flores is doing in Miami? They have less talent than us and have traded away key players but they've got 3 wins (including 1 over us) and we'll see what happens against them Sunday. Basically the idea is that a better HC would've done more with this team. I agree with that. All things considered, Gase has done a very poor job this year.

  21. *figured I'd go along with the current trend of topic titles... Lots of good teams playing college ball this weekend. Andrew Thomas against LSU. Can Tyler Baidasz handle Ohio State's defense? Who are the prospects for whom we should keep an eye out, this weekend?

  22. The venom jet fans have for robby anderson is bizarre. I guess the comments he had for the cops really irked people and they cant let it go. Being toung and drunk and being belligerent I can forgive. Hes been a choir boy since that incident. I am happy hes turned things around. It will be a chance for us to celebtrate when we give him a nice contract this offseason.

  30. Perhaps if our offense attempted to attack the weaknesses of opponents that would be higher? For example, last week we faced a team that has been getting abused with edge rushing attempts and Bell got none, zero, nada. They did however give him 11 rush attempts into the strength of that defense in the middle. Basically a situation where 10 year old kids playing Madden would typically have had a better plan of attack. For offensive guru Gase, we will make excuses though.

  32. Who would have thought that a RB who likes to pause in the backfield would struggle behind a bad offensive line, a 2nd year QB and no receiving threats on the outside??

  33. The Epic Failure of 2019 was trying to develop an young QB, signing a HOF RB and then taking a DT at 3 and not improving the OL which has been a disaster for both Bell and Darnold.

  35. I dont hate it, but the idea that hes an avatar for Jets fans and a model for how they should behave is definitely an issue (despite how much entertainment I get from it here) His portrayed relationship with the team is extremely unhealthy and I'm sure there are many beningo-lites who let this stupid team cause them legitimate emotional pain + trigger domestic issues. Hard to believe there was a time in my life were I thought i was justified in acting like an angry dick on Sunday / Monday because the Jets lost.

  37. Forget the "team". The most important thing right now is coaching up Darnold. No one can win with this "team" as it stands right now. Our favorite team does NOT have a roster with many professional players on it. Courtesy of Mike Maccagnan. Belichick couldn't win with this roster. Though you would see way less games lost by 10+ points, an "Adam Gase Special". I'm not even asking for good or great just somewhat competent. You know an OL that can pick up a stunt move once in a blue moon. McCarthy wanted the job to explicitly coach Darnold. Maybe now he wants to take some ti

  38. I am not a huge Gase fan but I heard the entire segment. Joe sounded so unintelligent. At one point he kept “Stop it with the roster, I don’t want to hear about the roster”. Someone needs to clue this bozo in that our roster is terrible. Then he yelled about how the team would be better off with Mike McCarthy. Really, prove it? Show me. Oh wait, he can’t. So why was he screaming about it. Then he blamed the media for McCarthy not getting a HC job anywhere. But did not provide any real back up to that. No facts. Nothing. Gimme a break.

  39. Reed was awesome. And people actually want Rex back.

  40. He is. As was I. o7 Perhaps. I'd argue no defender alone is vital to winning. The modern NFL is 100% about Offense and scoring points. Not a single pass rusher or coverage guy. Adams is neither, he's a sack guy by scheme. He's okish in coverage (so few INT's). 20-40 years ago, on a good team, he'd be a HOF'er. Today he's an extra. Nope. Adams will never be an important piece, because Strong Safety simply isn't an important piece in the NFL of 2019. They do not do enough, and much of their past power (crushing head hits and run stopping) just aren't rele

  41. Just the opposite. Douglas was there when his mentor, Ozzie Newsome, bypassed Rex for the HC job, and chose Harbough. He knows Ozzie passed on Rex because he's a clown show, and probably would never even consider bring him back.

  42. Classic Jets fans ... "I don't like what we have, so let's get what we almost had - or bring back what we used to have!" How about we just go out and hire someone that isn't a complete and total ****nut? Nobody specific. Just not a guy whose only success is tied to Peyton Manning, or a guy who underachieved with a loaded Cardinals defense, or a guy that countless organizations wouldn't give a HC job to because they knew he had all sorts of personality disorder... maybe just a competent, sane, hard-working guy... like the Bills hired with McDermott, for instance.
