  1. Only Jets fans would complain about bringing in a 7x pro bowl left tackle who is in the prime of his career lmao

  2. Injury prone? He’s made the pro bowl from 2012-2018! The guy is a top 5 tackle in the league. Jets fans are something else man. Desperate for offensive line help, yet when it looks like we might land a top offensive lineman it’s a big problem from the fans lol. Can’t make it up

  3. Worst thing that can happen for this team is we whiff in free agency and go into the season with a patchwork OL consisting of rookies, veteran jags anda couple of young "cross your fingers and hope they are good" type players like Chuma Edoga, Ben Braden and Conor Mcdermott. Everyone talks about these FAs as if we can just snap our fingers and sign Conklin or Thuney or Glasgow. Its not that simple. The Jets are not a prime destination, these guys will all have plenty of options in free agency. With so many teams in need of OL help, we could easily whiff on the top 3 - 5 guys. Add to that

  4. Anything more than a 3rd and I lose my mind. I almost don’t even want to give up a 3rd for him. He’s injury prone, hasn’t played in a year, probably out of shape and wants a ton of cash.

  5. We were tied with 6 teams with 7-9 record. We won the tie break among the 6 based on strength of schedule, so we have the first pick among 7-9 tems in R1. We then cycle to last among the 7-9 teams in R2, dropping us from 11 in the first round to 16 in the second. We will move up 1 slot each round from 2-7.

  6. I hope Douglas signs Adams long term so these stupid "Trade Adams" threads end.

  7. I’m confused why people are hating on this. Hes a top 5-7 LT in the league. Good tackles play til they’re 36-38 years old. That gives us a good 4 years of shelf life, which is what every contract is pretty much predicated on. Can you get 4 years good out of this player. If we’re not giving up anything higher than a 3rd, there should be no complaining. He’s also a good locker room leader and would anchor our OL rookies and newbies..

  8. Jets in talks to obtain the best offensive player they've had in years. JN: "omg, we better not give up more then a 3rd..."

  9. Plus, people are seriously underestimating the fact that were looking at three of the premier Tackles going before 11 leaving us with a choice of Becton and the WRs. If you're giving me the choice, I'm taking Trent for a Third and one of Lamb, Jeudy, Ruggs, etc. over Becton or, even worse, Kelvin Beachum coming back + a day 2 WR.

  10. Sounds like a drag, but glad you’re not sick - which is what I’m sure most of us thought you were getting at.

  11. I am all for securing the tackle spot through FA and going Jeudy at 11. I think that gives us the best chance at transforming this offense in one year. What is more likely? The 3rd/4th best tackle in the draft playing at top 10 level as a rookie or a 31 year old All pro having two more Elite years left in the tank? Get Williams and Conklin, take Jeudy at 11, then go Interior OL with your 2nd,3rd picks

  12. WE NEED A COUPLE OF PLAYERS NOW! If you get 2 years out of him it's a good trade to protect Sam so he can play the damn game without running for his life & playing off script 75% of the time. Where do people think we're getting pro bowl Olineman? Drafting them all? Give me a break, we have no clue if the guy we take at #11 will be a PRO BOWLER. I told you guys JD will knit together vets & youth to fix the Oline. That doesn't preclude him from ALSO drafting a couple more in 2021 to develop? My god, this board is so unrealistic in their Madden GM hats.

  13. This place is going to be fun in April when JD doesn't draft 4 OL and 3 WRs. I'm not going to lie, I'm looking forward to the amateur GMs heads exploding after the first defensive player is picked....

  14. "Engaged in talks" and "serious talks" are not the same thing. Reporters use "serious talks" when the trade is all but done. I'm here to provide Sports Reporter Twitter Eneundo classes for anyone interested. Nominal charge.

  15. I didn’t realize 32 years old(age when the season starts), was considered prime in his career.

  16. This has "sign for huge money, gets hurt week 3, sues team, never plays for us again" written all over it, lol.

  17. Good god no. This would be a terrible start to the Joe Douglas era.

  18. I would, but the panthers wouldn’t. And not because Adams isn’t worth it, but because the panthers would be looking for picks so they can go get a qb.

  19. Would trading one of our #3 picks be enough to move us up in the draft to get one of the top OL? I'm guessing no but just wondering. I'd almost rather do that then get an older, injury-prone guy who will cost a lot of money plus draft capital. Ideally one of the OL will fall to us but I'm not optimistic about that happening.

  20. First of all Mac would never be interested in OL, let alone a top LT. So no. Theyll obviously have to have some sort of injury clause and actually pass a physical etc etc. Douglas isn’t an idiot. If it’s not a good fit, he won’t do it. But you have to check into it if an elite LT is looking to be traded. Being 32 means nothing for OL. Whitworth joined the Rams when he was 36.

  21. Old, wants to reset the LT market with new deal, injury prone and we have to spend draft capital to get him? Hard pass.

  22. 4 years of a premium left tackle play for Same Darnold is well worth a 3rd round pick that is equal to a 30% chance of a decent player.

  23. So trade a 3rd for Williams, take Jeudy or CeeDee in the first, Ezra Cleveland, OT in the 2nd, a CB in the third and sign Glasgow in FA.

  24. So why exactly do people want to take a flyer on Jason Peters but not Trent Williams? Guy has played for the worst-run franchise in the NFL for his whole career. Go rescue him for a 3rd rounder.

  25. Hm. Not really. It’s a pretty good move if you give up what he states in the article.

  27. Very reasonable plan. I think the jets are pretty much married to taking an OT at 11 assuming one of the top 4 is there. RT is a critical position with darnold always rolling to his right. This should be done regardless of whether they trade for Trent or not.

  28. On the other hand, there is no guarantee that Conklin comes here. Even if we make the best offer. If we can work out a trade with Washington, we know we have our starting LT. I am not thrilled with the idea of a pick and a big contract, but at least it would give us certainty. Douglas at least has to pick up the phone and call Washington.

  29. I wouldn't make this trade, but I would trade Jamal for picks. I think after this offensive line gets rebuilt, running back isn't a priority and i'd rather cash Jamal in for other needs.

  30. You know I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a bit deflated right now. In all my years playing mafia the only time I was more sure someone was scum was when smash claimed role cop.

  32. But suddenly .. the sky begin to thunder and lightening violently. A storm? A stir appeared in the air just above the town that was growing exponentially. Wind was whipping around in a circular fashion like a tornado was descending from the heavens. In the middle of the tornado, music! and you could see the faint outline of figures emerging. A wormhole was opening and through it appeared visitors from the future. Why! It was none other than 20th century R/B group Kool and the Gang. They were here to perform their seminal post disco crossover hit that topped both the R/B

  33. One Ape, Two Ape, Red Ape, Dead Ape, Mad Ape, Sad Ape, Old Ape, New Ape. This one is a bit bizarre That one thinks he’s a mafia star. Say! What a lot of apes there are. Yes. Most are fat and all are dumb Some are town and some are scum Some are sad, and some are glad, And some are very, very bad. So which Ape do we have here? It's hard to keep track. The village wanted to know. Ape attempted to explain himself, "well you see on page 92 I was playing the new ape v2 role, but by page 97 it was more old Ape v3 with a splash of classic ape v2. And on pages 27,

  34. I give the guy a pass here...unloaded, in checked baggage, sounds like he let them know it was in there too. Tried to do the right thing and got busted for it anyway. When my dad passed away a few years ago, I knew he had an unlicensed handgun hidden away somewhere in the house. I eventually found it and for a brief second thought about turning it in to the local police department. Then I thought about it more, couldn't find anything online about immunity for turning in a gun and decided to dump it down the sewer drain. I wasn't going to take even the remote chance of getting

  35. My hot take on this is that I don’t care too much and if Williams is healthy during a playoff run where Darnold plays well, no one will care about the third rounder.

  38. Thomas - safest LT prospect, will start for a decade or more. Wirfs - awesome athlete, who may be able to become a LT or stay as an upper-tier RT. Becton - a mammoth LT prospect with very good movement skills. Is he too big to hold up long term? I'd be willing to take a shot. Wills - can be a great RT or OG, also might be able to play LT. The reports from interviews and film work at the combine are a worry, though.

  41. Good luck. I just bought a used car for my son who turned 17. Lucky for me @lawngnome o-line was selling a nice Honda Accord and we bought it from him. My son is loving life. I looked all over Facebook Marketplace and it is super sketchy out there. Met one person to look at a car and I thought I was going to end up in the trunk. Two Russian guys came out. They made Ivan Drago look small.
