  1. Hell of a job by Joe Douglas in year 1. Known players: 1) Mekhi Becton - already an elite LT. Huge score here for Douglas. 2) Denzel Mims - looks to be at minimum a strong #2 type with potential for more. Another hit. 3) Ashytn Davis - Man he showed a lot tonight. Physical. Fast. Instinctive. He's the kind of player that will get better and better every year. I'm a fan. 4) Braden Mann - excellent punter that can change field position and kick off. That's 4 hits with future starters. Perine looks like a contributor at a minimum for years. Zuniga, Clark, Morgan an

  2. Here come the purity tests. Yes. I’m delighted. Put yourself in a position to get the franchise QB. Whether Lawrence or even Fields are to bust I’d rather swing and miss than to have no shot. We’ve cost ourselves a ton of elite talent over the years with meaningless wins. Nice selective examples too. Lawrence is a better prospect than Mayfield ever was.

  3. Jets finish the season 0-16 or 1-15 with the #1 overall pick. The Jags are the biggest threat to the Jets in terms of #1 pick but based on how we saw Luton play I think they squeak out a game over the course of the rest of the season. Woody Johnson comes home and fires Adam Gase, taking the heat off of Christopher Johnson and Joe Douglas. Coaching Staff HC - Greg Roman, he's a NJ guy (Atlantic City) and has had a hand in developing/designing offenses around his starting QBs most notably Andrew Luck, Alex Smith, Collin Kaep, Tyrod Taylor, & Lamar Jackson. Has never f

  4. Amazing what happens when you have a QB under center who can diagnose a pre snap blitz and read more than half of the field.

  8. This. Darnold isn’t the answer here. He may be the answer for someone else down the road but we desperately needed to look respectable on national television and still lose and I think we nailed that.

  10. Whew, that was close!!! But JAX and their fans got punched in the mouth as the Jets pulled out a last second loss to continue their quest to the #1 pick. Let's take a look: - It really stinks Mekhi Becton got hurt because he was putting on an absolute clinic at LT. Totally sealing off that side in pass protection and throwing defenders around like ragdolls in the run game. During the interviews for the next OC and OLine coach, if they don't have a definitive plan on building their line schemes around Becton they better not be hired - Loving the growth I'm seeing out o

  11. Yes As a matter of fact, I want to see 7 more losses exactly like this. Competitive, close games that come down to the wire...but the Jets lose in the end. At least last night was fun to watch, unlike the previous 8 weeks.

  13. Meaningless win vs. the worst Patriots team in 35 years or a real franchise QB? hmmmmmm tough decision

  14. Anyone not rooting for the #1 pick is not a true fan. The long term interests are more important than a meaningless game between two dead teams.

  17. Absolutely. Jets looking capable all game, Mims making a couple plays, Pats looking like a shell of themselves with talent that appears to rival the pitiful Jets AND the Jets managing to lose and preserve their perfect season at the time time was the absolute PERFECT outcome. Anyone wishing we had beat up on a pathetic Bradyless Pats, like that will somehow start to make up for the past decade is delusional and shortsighted to say the least.

  18. My self respect as a Jets fan died a long time ago. And I have Mehta and Cimini to remind me of how much sadistic pleasure the world gets from my tortured existence. I am well conditioned to suffer until there is a light at the end of the tunnel. You can call me a disgrace all you want. I'll keep my eyes on the prize.

  23. Becton has been playing banged up all year. You gotta give him credit for fightng through it. This draft class does look promising. I think when they feature Perine more he's going to show he can be a quality player. Unfortunately that's only going to happen if Gase is fired.

  25. I've been waiting for someone to post this so I guess I will. Perriman played very well tonight. If he can stay healthy, he could be worth resigning, for less money than the big name receivers will be asking for. Maybe add one mid level free agent receiver and draft another to go along with Mims, and Crowder. The guy has talent; he just has to stay on the field. With him and Mims on the field together with Crowder, there is going to be some mismatches and a better quarterback will be able to fully utilize them. These next 7 games are real audition for him and also a chance for Mims to ge

  26. f*ck defense. I want to score points. I want a big offense. I want to score over 30 points per game. It's loooooong overdue. One reason that I actually enjoyed watching this garbage team last night is because we suddenly scored touchdowns. So fun.

  28. This thread cracks me up, the people all bent out of shape because some fans want the tank. What good does winning a meaningless game with Joe Flacco do for this team? 1-8 and a win over a terrible Football team is suddenly going to send a shock waves of winning vibes through the organization? 1 win and suddenly we have a culture of winning? lol And how long do those good feeling last when you're lucky to win 1 of the remaining games this season? Just bonkers, my dudes. There is no good in winning this season and this is coming from a guy who believes that you do need to learn how to

  34. The Jets were competitive because the Patriots are horrible, and they had a lot of guys out with injuries. The Jets will go either 0-7 or 1-6 the rest of the way.

  35. Over half this team wont be here next year, including Flacco but yeah, momentum. Oh and remember when the Jets finished 6-2 last year and carried all that momentum into 2020!!!!!!!!!!!! yeah, exactly.

  36. Couldnt agree more. Thats why although I have no clue what to so re Darnold and the top overall pick, I do have faith that Douglas knows what he is doing. Becton is an absolute beast but this season is not leaving me with a good feeling regarding his ability to stay on the field. Did he have injury issues in college? I'm happy it hasnt been his knees, but I was a bit concerned about a man that size and his body being able to hold up and he certainly isnt making me feel any better about that. Love what I'm seeing from Mims. I think he is already showing the talent of a high end #2,

  37. He's the only competent man in the building. What if the Adams trade becomes as pivotal a decision as the Knicks GM getting a hankering to move Willis Reed to center and trade for a guy like Debusschere? Or Stick Michael deciding that Paul O'Neill looks good in right field? Great personnel people make good things happen. Douglas is painting with broad strokes. We just can't see the results yet.

  39. The tweet is a logical fallacy, if Lawrence gets drafted by the Jets it implies he must have declared for the draft and therefore is ineligible to return to college. Also Steve young can EAD.
