  1. Jets fans on internet message boards want to trade Darnold for a 3rd round pick and draft Zach Wilson #2 overall, who was considered a 3rd round pick until roughly 3 months ago, yet there are possibly (probably?) multiple respected GM’s out there like Chris Ballard, Mickey Loomis and Kevin Colbert who would be willing to give up a 1st for him... What does that tell you? Adam Gase and Mike Maccagnan were f*cking poison of the highest order. If the Jets would’ve tanked themselves into Trevor Lawrence or can somehow pull off a trade for Watson that doesn’t involve cutting off their

  2. This is Schefter people. This isn't a rumor. This is the most credible voice in the NFL making a big statement. Great news.

  3. Sam is a mush. A true beta male. SoCal avocado toast. A simp. A twink. A surf-brah. A sub. A gimp. A weakling. Nice guy, but all the leadership traits of Pauly Shore.

  4. It would make zero sense to trade him for less than a 2. Zero, and it doesn't matter who who sign or bring in or trade for. People let emotion get into this thing far too much, they are mad at the player for not panning out so they say get rid of him for anything. A good number of people would be happy to just cut him. Good gms and good teams keep this kind of emotion out of it.

  8. Agreed I can get why some want to move on from Darnold but it seems like there’s a segment of the fanbase that will trade him off for whatever we can muster and will take absolutely ANY alternative. That’s just stupid The kid is still immensely talented, is still younger than some rookies coming out and has been a consummate professional the entire way, even though he’s been dicked over seven ways to sundown ever since he first entered the league. Now he’s in a system that is tailored to his strengths with a coaching staff who knows their asses from their elbows and his sup

  9. of course he would the ******* psycho, and that's why he's not GM anymore. To be fair he drafted DBrickshaw, Revis, Harris, which is way better than the turds the last two gms got us. I actually like Tanny, its just he loved highly leveraging the Jets.

  12. Damn. What a terrible disease. I hope they have some way of communicating his legacy and the huge number of people who love him. What a cruel fate, to be robbed of the precious memories that make up one's life.

  13. I know that everyone wants the Jets to be great, and not just ordinary great but multiple SB winning great. And to do so, you need a great QB. I am right there with you on that, but I am not sure if people understand what a tall order that is. And I wondered if great QB's are simply born, or if they are borne of being placed in a great situation. So, I took a look at the historical records. This is the 55th Superbowl. That makes 110 opportunities for a QB to start a SB. 42 QB's were one and done in making it to the SB. Of these 42, Marino is the only loser to make the HOF. The one and don

  15. The kids most competent coach to this point has been Jeremy Bates, who was previously out of football for 5 years walking mountain trails in the wilderness and since being let go along with Bowles and Co. I would assume has been doing the same thing ever since. Darnold was always known as a raw prospect with a metric sh*t ton of upside. The kid was playing LB until a year before he committed to USC, and they were originally recruiting him as a LB as well. I’m not going to sit here and pretend that playing in a Shanahan WCO with an improved supporting cast is going to suddenly transfo

  18. For the people that want to keep our picks instead of trading for Watson and especially those who want to build a dominant OL by using #2 overall on Sewell, there is actually a live model of this plan right now - the Colts. When the colts traded out of 3 to move back to 6 they received 3 second round picks. They knocked their first 2 picks out of the park with the best guard in the NFL and Darious Leonard, an elite LB. They took Braden Smith (more OL) who has been a solid starter at RT and occasionally guard and then drafted 2 pass rushers with their other 2nd's who havent been great.

  21. Jets fans for two weeks straight: Trade 4 first rounders! Trade Quinnen! Jets fans upon hearing Mike Tannenbaum would make the exact same move: What a ******* moron no wonder he isnt a GM anymore. Got it.

  22. He is the Josh Allen of this draft. If he goes to the right team that can build around him properly and develop him, he will be a dangerous weapon- eventually, with a game very similar to Allen's. He's actually much more accurate than Allen but I expect that accuracy to drop and INT rate to skyrocket in the NFL, at least his first few years in the NFL. Does he make sense for the Jets? I dunno. If JD trades down and takes him at 8 or so, I have absolutely no issue with it.

  27. This is a pretty awful list. Awuzie, Sherman and Verrett are the only reasonable options. We're going to become more of a zone/match team why would we sign a bunch of man coverage guys?

  34. In case people are still doubting how seriously the Jets are considering keeping Darnold: despite all the calls they've received, they haven't told teams whether or not he's available nor have they expressed what it would take to land him in a trade. Criticize the Jets all you want, just don't shoot the messenger.

  35. I said 2 weeks ago this would Implode and that Douglas should just be patient and he has been. If the Jets truly want Watson they should let this continue to spiral out of control and we get more and more leverage. What Houston should be doing at this point is also shopping JJ Watt because they will have to go into full re-build mode as this will probably destroy their locker room a well.

  36. I agree. I am in the trade for Watson camp. Damn if they could trade Darnold there and have that count as decent comp, give them the # 2 and a # 1 next year? I know I am dreaming, we could throw in Bless Austin. But if it doesn't work out for Watson and Joe D and company want to go with Sam...I fully support it.

  37. I have no doubt that is part of it. How many games did we score on first drives and look good early only to collapse offensively over the last 3 quarters. Also, it becomes harder to throw late in games when you are trailing and the defense is not worried about the run. But at the same time, the QB has to take some responsibility. I want a QB who is capable of making plays when the other team knows you have to throw. Which is something I have never seen from Darnold.

  39. Interesting. Thanks for posting. I can't help but wonder how much of that can be attributed to the lack of offensive adjustments in the 2nd half (after an opposing D adjusted to what we were doing) that we probably all wanted to scream at Gase about? I'm not looking to shift blame from Darnold, just an honest question. I'd be curious to see those splits year 1 vs years 2 & 3

  41. I find it hard to believe. I would be ecstatic if we trade Darnold for a 2nd. OK with a 3rd even. Maybe what they say is true. One man's garbage is another man's treasure. Or maybe beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Not saying Darnold is garbage but i appreciate Schefter talking up his value.
