  1. Someone tell me again ... what offense does Mike LaFleur run again ?

  2. Of course he's in limbo. That's hardly inappropriate if one looks at the situation objectively instead of as someone who specifically wants it to be Darnold for emotional reasons. letdown rookie season letdown second season letdown third season lots of film - and don't think Douglas hasn't seen it - of Darnold repeatedly making a poor situation look much worse by his play the Gase excuse is real, but as much as that's the case with Tannehill getting much better away from Gase, people see that Tannehill wasn't nearly this bad under Gase and that he didn't have ne

  5. Are you paying him 40 mil a year? If so, no. I'd just take Fields or Wilson if that's your preference.

  6. I think you need to come off this. No one is arguing that Darnold isn’t a fit for our new scheme, the argument is that he isn’t a good QB or at least he isn’t the best option given the QBs available at 2. Frank Gore was a scheme fit for Gases offense, were you happy with him as our RB1 last year?

  7. Has there ever, in the history of the league, been an example of a QB with 3 years of starting experiencing turning it around from bottom 3 in the league to suddenly a good QB? I cant think of a single example. Sam Darnold aint breaking that trend. Dudes a bust.

  8. No, he's really good at football and may help our QB, not our thing. Hard pass.

  13. I think there's only one thing Jets fans can't stomach. Seeing Darnold throw more jaw-dropping INT's in a Jets uniform. I GURANTEE if the Jets roll with Darnold, pass on a QB at #2 (take someone or trade down) and Darnold falls flat on his face. EVEN IF THEY SIGN A COMPETENT VET BACKUP. Jet fans will be pulling the hair out of their heads because we will be going into the 2022 draft with a lot of draft capital but no FQB QB, out of reach to draft one, picking 15th or 16th (an 8-8 team having improved on the strength of JDs investments in FA and the draft as well as MUCH better coaching).

  14. Like everyone else on the board my head is spinning on our path to a qb next year. Watson? Darnold? Wilson? I have bounced back and forth like a ping pong ball at the pros and cons of each. I finally got to thinking logically instead of emotionally and it come down to Wilson. Everyones first choice is Watson but the Texans being the Texans will try to rape us and they have already let the situation drag on too long. JD not wanting to bend over for anyone will let it go to the draft then do what he needs to do. So Darnold vs Wilson will come down to restarting the clock. With huge salar

  15. According to Bitonti though he is below aveage in everything so I guess he just played against scarecrows dressed as football players. Could not possibly be that he had the best rating because of elite skills. Just not possible. He's small. Mormon. Baby faced. Injury prone. Weak armed. Mormon again for his 2nd prom date. Not a Captain. (see pic) Played scarecrows. Weak armed. Bad footwork. Had the worst game of the college season again Coastal Carolina Terrible against elite teams. Trust fund baby that will leave football. Stays too long in pocket. Only throws to open receivers. Sucks against

  17. People around the league actually realize that Gase and his crew were the worst coaches in the league and that having chris hogan and josh malone as your top two WRs and Frank Gore as you bell cow RB is iffy .

  19. No doubt about it the long time after the superbowl and the new league year is torture. Especially with no combine this year. We have hashed and rehashed every Jets related info to the nth degree.

  20. Because QBs are never ranked solely on the numbers they post? Funny, you ask why is he not projected ahead of the non Trevor Lawrence QBs. His numbers are better than Lawrences, why arent you asking why he isnt projected ahead Trevor Lawrence? Actually you kind of answered youre own question

  21. The 3 guys I tend to really note their opinion on QBs are Simms, Greg Cossell and Jermiah Simms evaluations have been exceedingly accurate. Almost scary accurate. He loves Wilson. Had serious concerns about Darnold. Cossell really likes Wilson. Says he has elite traits. Says not all teams draft on traits want skills. Hated Darnold Jeremiah Most tuned in to actual GM opinions. Close friends with JD. Has Wilson as #2 QB 4th overall. Did like Sam though

  22. I know we're all super dumb compared to these professionals, but, I mean, if the forum posters were in charge we'd have Deshaun Watson, Dalvin Cook, a 1 and 3 2s. But hey, building a SUPER UNIT at safety and seeing what we have in Hackenberg is certainly a viable option too.

  23. Jet Nation Dot com is full of alarmists and haters. If Sam Darnold just gets better WRs, a better OL, a better running game, stays healthy, improves his footwork, improves his ability to read a defense, improves his pocket awareness, improves his decision making, limits his turnovers, improves his accuracy, gets his confidence back, works on his arm strength, and of course, finally gets coached up, I think he'll have a Jeff Garcia type career. I, for one, don't want to see what he can do in San Fransisco.

  24. Love Golladay the player. All depends on the how the medicals check out and the price tag. He was one of my favorites in the draft that year, but we just had to have Ardarius Stewart ahead of him and Chris Godwin. Macc would have been better off listening to the draft forum regulars back in 2017.

  26. It reminds me very much of Rick Mirer. Every coach was fascinated by his raw talent and kept giving him chances to come around, despite all the available evidence that he was never going to do so.

  27. I am not sure I can think of a less important indicator of arm strength than the furthest distance a pass traveled in the air. Who rightly gives a ****? It's not how far the ball goes, it's how fast it gets there. There is quite a difference between stepping up and heaving it and dropping back an ripping a deep out. FWIW, I am sure that Wilson's arm is fine, but the ball does not seem to fly out of his hand like Fields to me. I am not complaining about his arm, but it doesn't seem like a cannon to me.

  28. I really like Mac Jones. He’s deadly accurate and anticipates the field. Watch his game highlights and zero-in on WHEN he releases ball... He goes through his reads and can hit 4.5 Najee Harris, 4.3 Smith, or 4.2 Waddle in stride; throwing before they are open. His footwork is best in class. He lead the FBS in passing yards (4,500), comp pct (77.4%), and was second in TDs (41), all while playing top competition, and only throwing 4 INTs. Oh yeah, and he’s only lost 1 game in his college career as a starter.

  34. His comparable is Rodgers. Not saying he will be as good as him but he plays like him. Extreme accuracy super fast release comfortable and accurate from almost any throwing angle. I truly believe he will be elite at the next level.

  37. Depends on the severity of the injury, was it a strain or tear of his hip flexor. But given that the Lions are almost $7M over the cap right now I can see why they aren’t interested in paying Golladay top dollar.

  38. Great post Spermy. I think some of us (like me) will have to come to terms with the fact that the Jets are almost assuredly going to draft Wilson. I think he's going to fail. But I guess I have to start hoping I am wrong (yet again).

  40. i don't think i can say anything that hasn't already been said. he's been throwing to ball vacuum cleaners in smith and waddle and has a heck of a running game with najee harris and the oline. this isn't to say he's not an important piece of the team but he certainly isn't forced to take the game entirely on his shoulders. i wouldn't be that concerned about his being a statue. i think that could be more of a reflection of how good the oline is at pass blocking and the receivers in getting open early. what he needs to have for the nfl is enough mobility to side step the pass rush or even t

  43. Just curious for those that do, what do you like about JuJu that you really want him on this team? What makes you think of all the potential options that may be available(let’s in this case assume all get to free agency...Golladay, Robinson etc) I don’t see this is a good move at all. I do not believe he is a #1, and we’re talking about possibly paying him like a top #1.

  44. Welcome! I agree Gallup is a great option and one I hope the Jets pursue. One issue is that the Cowboys basically cannot keep him unless they move on from Dak, so the Jets in theory would be able to sign him in FA next year w/o giving up draft capital. The benefit would be if a deal were to be ironed out this year during the trade, they wouldn't need to outbid everyone else, and in theory the extension he signs this off-season should theoretically be less given the drop in cap space. As it pertains to other trade targets - I think a few that could be interesting are: Marshon Lattim
