  2. This system makes stars out of nobodies. Watch Ty Johnson rush for 1000 this season. It’s both crazy and well within the realm of possibility.

  3. No more, "why couldn't he convince Joe Thuney to sign with the 2-14 Jets over the back-to-back AFC champs?" Or, "remember that time he took a backup QB with the second of three fourth rounders? I'm still not over that!" Or, "I can't believe he's signing guys who might not even make the final roster. Why doesn't he sign eighty-five starters?" Don't worry, kids, your time is coming! With this draft, the Jets will be cemented as Joe Douglas' team, for better or worse. He's got his hand-picked head coach. And not just the only coach who would take his calls, but a highly so

  6. Caveat, we all know the draft is still in the future and will factor into this question then. But so far, what has already happened and who we already have, what excites you about the forthcoming 2021 Season? 1. Saleh - For the first time in a long time, we hired a guy who I think might actually work out as an NFL Head Coach. Saleh seems to have his head on strait, is very well-regarded, knows him limitations and weaknesses, and has filed those with other minds who are also well regarded. Unlike our last guy, Saleh doesn't seems like the kind of guy who is going to end up a joke o

  7. As a devoted Jets fan for 52 years and running, I want to thank Sam Darnold for his 3 years of service to our NY Jets. He was always professional on and off the field, never threw his teammates or his coaches under the bus, although I truly wish he had. As he was getting pummeled on the battlefield on the gridiron, surrounded by players that couldn't protect him (32nd rated offensive line in protecting the QB), wide receivers who couldn't get open most of the time, a 38 year old running back who never fumbled but never really helped, and a coaching staff who should never have been allowe

  8. Love him hosting. He has the right mix of humor and gravitas. Want to see other hosts, but as it stands now, I'd be ecstatic if he landed the permanent gig.

  9. Way to cut straight to the point. Sam Darnold fits that new offense like a glove.

  11. @Verbal’s primary purpose in Mafia is to shoot his nemesis, 80. Since that wasn’t possible this time around, he had to find his purpose in another way. That came about with his partner, @Barry McCockinner. Through thick and thin, these 2 strangers joined forces and became fast friends. But when Barry fell, Verbal was stricken with grief. He’d lost his purpose. So when infection and sweet, sweet death arrived, he didn’t mourn. After all, he was re-joining his friend, among the dead (thread). Verbal is dead. He was a Town Maso

  12. Ty johnson looked like our most explosive player on offense every time he touched the ball. I have no idea how durable he could be or anything like that, but I have no doubt that he could have big games in this system.

  13. Was thinking the same thing after tonight’s episode. He’s been great! Just like how he plays QB - smooth, few errors. It shouldn’t come as a surprise, as he’s one of the all-time great QBs, but it’s pretty impressive that he studied game film of Alex to prepare. Aaron Rodgers studied game tape of Alex Trebek to prep for hosting 'Jeopardy! “I wrote down all the different ways he would take it to break,” he said. “I wrote down the stuff that he said coming out of break. Literally, I studied for this like no other. I wanted to absolutely crush it.”

  17. This is an interesting added chapter in the football analytics digest. RAS (relative athletic score) pits them against 30 years of prospect measurables.. (Probably breaking my own cardinal rule posting this here vs Draft Forum) Thought you would all want to take a look given that it may be a reasonable predictor of value with Jets/JD You'll notice a few things ^^ here that are of interest, but i wanna hang a lantern on Nate/Nathan McCrary ...there's so much Jeff Wilson to his game and he fits our scheme perfectly.. SUUUUPER deep sleeper though.

  18. Just a general observation guys. At some point, we have to stop talking ourselves out of drafting guys who could actually score touchdowns.

  19. With the 74th pick the Washington Football Team select: QB Kellen Mond, Texas A&M I'm going to go with Chris Simms on this one who says Mond is the 4th best QB in the draft. I think Mond won't get passed the early 2nd round in the real draft and might get selected by Pittsburgh, NO or TB in the 1st. This is a great value and need pick for Washington and he can sit a year behind Fitz. @Dcat is OTC @TomShane is on deck

  25. Typical bullsh*t reasons for taking defense early in this draft. We have drafted defense for 10 years straight We have a defensive coach We spent more money on defense than offense in FA Yeah lets go get that shiny pass rusher that got 4 sacks last year because he tested good. Oline group is deep so we can get them later like Winters Edoga, Shell, Clark Fck that.

  27. JVOR, who had just been doing the game a favor and stepping in for the @GATA-bot, was at peace with town's decision to off him. In fact, he made things all the easier for them, taking his own life in the process. He yodeled all the way down. The echoes of his full-throated ejaculations... Ahem. 28. For years the Broncos would just throw the next guy into the RB role and the next thing you knew he was a household name on espn regularly. A great oline can open holes for anyone to run through.

  29. I'd LOVE to somehow walk away from this draft with Wilson/Pitts or Wilson/Chase, but I just think we have too many holes to give up that much draft capital. Pass.

  30. There will be a wave of FA signings after the draft, and I don't think the Jets are done adding veterans once that completes. Players that are probably fits for us: QB Brian Hoyer QB Alex Smith QB Nick Mullens RB Duke Johnson RB Jerick McKinnon WR Marquise Goodwin TE Trey Burton TE Richard Rodgers TE Jordan Reed DE Adrian Clayborn LB KJ Wright LB Kwon Alexander LB De'Vondre Campbell LB B.J. Goodson LB Alex Anzalone LB Patrick Owuasor CB Richard Sherman CB Brian Poole

  31. Football is a simple game. If you can rush 4 and get the other QB you can stop anyone. If you can protect your QB and open running lanes, you can score on anyone.

  35. lol - I mean, I just dont understand this blind confidence I'm supposed to have and apparently a bad fan because I dont have extreme confidence and optimism in a team that gives you no reason to ever be optimistic. I just watched the worst Jets Football team of my life time and I understand fully that JD's not all to blame but I dont think he should be completely absolved as well. IMO he had 1 job last year, build around Sam Darnold and he failed, miserably and put one of the worst products I've ever seen around him. The roster got worse, somehow and that's just unfathomable because i

  37. Far more of a rule that top CBs are only found in the first two rounds (and overwhelmingly round 1 at that) than RBs. I was looking it up the other day at the last 3 seasons' all pro and pro bowl CBs -- there were 14 different players. 12 of the 14 were 1st & 2nd round picks (mostly 1st round at that). The only two exceptions entered the league back in 2011 (Sherman and Harris Jr). In today's league, a high draft pick RB is a finishing touch, not a building block. Really, how often does a team use a 1st round pick on a RB and then go on to win the SB with that back? Hardly ever

When I saw him in the litter he looked just like the Grand Champ dog. Dog kept me sane until I got my kids back. Dude sat at kitchen table every night with me for dinner. Have had at least one pit Bull ever since.

  41. That is the truth of the matter. Anyone think Lamar Jackson would've won an MVP on the Jets? Or Mahomes would've been to a couple Super Bowls already? Josh Rosen is on a trash heap and Josh Allen is a franchise QB. You have to have a team around these guys.
