  1. And no this isn't in reference to what Joe Douglas is doing to the Jets roster. People are fighting. Personal attacks. Name calling. Ruining the board. This is a general statement and a final plea for everyone to just use the Ignore feature if there is someone here you find that you don't agree with. We run this site in a pretty relaxed manner (try to) by design. That means we ask people to treat each other with respect. Unfortunately there are many cases were that isn't happening here right now. 4. Thank you. We're in position now to grab a high end QB prospect. (Thanks largely to our previous QBs poor play) Now is the time to take advantage of that. What really drives me nuts is those who advocate passing on a QB to "build the team" will follow that unflinchingly with "well, we can use the capital we amass to move up and grab a QB in the future" Friggin what?!? How could spending multiple 1sts to move up to the position you're in right now be a more effective approach? Take the QB. Only this time, spend a pick or two on a line and some playmakers for him.

  5. This is only said by people who love Sam Darnold and are pissed he is not the qb anymore. They are the same people who hate zach wilson and joe douglas as well. Anyone with a brain knows we have 21 picks in the next 2 years to build this team.

  7. Hell everyone else does it so I might as well. #2 overall. Zach Wilson. This isn't even close imo. The coaching staff has the perfect system for him. The receivers are big and his down field accuracy will come in handy with receivers like this. They are going to stretch the field a bit. #23 - think this pick is going to get traded. Maybe they love a player here but I see Douglas turning this pick into two players. Other than that get a Guard and Cornerback in here with the next two picks and let's have some fun! Personally I love the thought of Travis Ettiene at 23. But I

  13. You're aware that the Johnsons who own the Jets do not control Johnson & Johnson or the vaccine, the company, right? You're also surely aware that (so far) the problem is 6 individual women out of 6.6 million vaccines so far completed. And that the reason they're stopping is to look at it further, to determine if it was caused by the vaccine or not. Sure, of course you knew all that.

  14. Ive heard from some people here and on social media that the Jets can’t draft a Qb because there are too many holes on the roster and/or Wilson would be put in the same situation as Darnold.. First off we aren’t contending this year anyway so if we can’t fill every hole this year it’s not the end of the world.. it’s about how we continue to build.. I don’t get why some people think if we draft Wilson we will have no ability going forward to improve the team at all and he will be stuck with this exact roster for his whole career.. We have enough assets and flexibility wheter t

  15. I think the Jets certainly can draft a QB at #2 and still improve the team with their remaining picks and the picks next year. The concern seems to be whether the Jets are willing to do something I've somewhat advocated for - forego additional investments on Defense right now in order to properly protect and support the rookie QB they're about to Draft. There are holes all over this team on both offense and defense. The Jets needs are numerous - OL, LB, WR, CB, TE, etc. We can't fix them all in one year. So what should the plan be? I'd argue the Jets need to hold their noses and

Aggressive, young GM, new highly touted HC, the 2nd pick in the draft to be used on an elite QB prospect... WE should all be united behind the fact that things are looking up... But... Instead... 29. I was down with riding with Darnold this year, trading down from #2, collecting the riches and building a football team. Unfortunately the offers didn't come, and the decision was made to take the QB while they have the #2 pick in the draft and two QBs they'd be really happy to have. Having everything in place first would've been nice. I'm also not thrilled with the Rookie head coach, rookie offensive coordinator, and rookie QB all hitting the ground at the same time. That's a lot. I think one year to get the program up & running before taking the QB would've been the better path. But

  30. The Jets drafted Becton and Mims last year, already miles ahead of help for a young QB from past regimes. As some of us on here have been bleating, offensive line is what buys you time in adding things to the offense and still have a young Qb that does not get killed. If Douglas does not draft oline early and often in this draft he is just another in a long line of guys that just pays it lip service since we totally struck out in signing any impact oline Free agents.

  31. This. This this this this. Take a QB at 2. Then use the next few picks on guys who can help him. Don't use your next pick on a project DT from a D2 school.

  32. We actually have more than an entire extra draft of picks, both in number and value, in this year's and next years draft. We have so much draft equity we should be able to completely overhaul the team, especially WITH Wilson. I mean it is pretty incredible how many quality picks we have the next 2 years.

  36. I'm old enough to remember when you said that keeping Darnold was the cheapest option (only 5M) next year, so that's what the Jets would do. That a rookie QB plus Darnold's dead money and trading for Watson were the expensive options, so what the Jets would not do. It's almost like you have a conclusion, and then backfill the narrative to get there. Oh, and here's a post where you advocate for the Jets passing on Sam Darnold's option, after correctly predicting a trade via a 2nd round pick: And here's how strongly you felt about Sam Darnold at the end of this season:

  38. The Jets new 4-3 scheme requires very different linebackers from a 3-4 scheme. Instead of players who can run, play in space and put their hand in the dirt to challenge the tackle the 4-3 places its emphasis on guys who can run, tackle and cover. The Jets never did find the outside rush linebacker that makes a 3-4 scheme work. We did try - I will not soil this post with a reminder of failed attempts. Remember your Parcells on 3-4 linebackers - "It's hard to find guys who are big enough." Instead, the 4-3 requires three very different linebackers. The most important and hardest to f

Just got the first shot of the Pfizer. I mean, things are lookin' good. Errbody should be happy that the country is about to open back up and the draft is deep with offensive lineman. Obligatory super saiyan gif:

  42. This is a SOJF take. There is no reason to STILL believe that we are a bad franchise. The owners are hand off now which is HUGE. We have a new FO and CS, both seemingly having good pedigrees. There is no reason on earth except for angst to think that is franchise is now bad.
