  1. Stop being such a bunch of hypocritical pussies. All I kept hearing was that we need our own coach and QB. We need to start from scratch. That we need to develop younger players and stop wasting time playing vets. Just this past season the board was overrun with posts complaining that Bell and Gore were on the field. 2015 is lambasted as a disaster because we didn't make the playoffs and developed nothing. The board almost universally complains about late season wins because they cost us draft capital. People would rather go 0-16 than 8-8. Now they are doing what you asked and you whine like my son avoiding "rest your eyes time" at pre-school? Suck it up. Things have looked bad. That is no guarantee of success, but it is not a guarantee of failure either. Andy Reid started off -0-4 in Philly. He was an offensive genius brought over from the Packers and his teams scored 29 points over the first 3 games including being shut out. Sound familiar? Kyle Shanahan, with these very guys on staff, started off 0-9 in SF. sh*t may look up and it may not, but Douglas was a well respected hire. He was not some dunce that couldn't handle a press conference brought over because he was the only guy willing to take on Rex. He was not some coffee addled protege of a guy who goes to the wig store and asks for the Moe Howard. He is a guy everybody said would right the ship and play the long game. He is playing the long game. Live with it. Barring some real insanity he gets this year and next. He should.

  3. I go back to 1964 with this team, and I think I might have finally had enough. I moved out of the NY area 10 years ago, but always made an effort to watch the Jets play every game… until about 4 games into last season. This year I wanted to buy into the new HC, QB thing, but it just never got me excited. it felt like just more of the same, just with new faces and a GM who I just don’t have a lot of confidence in. The last couple of years seem like Groundhog Day. Bad GMs, bad HCs and obviously bad teams. I read this board after the draft, and it felt exactly like the Spring/Summer of 2018. The new QB was throwing dimes in practice, had the arm of Rodgers and the head of Peyton Manning. The WR we drafted was going to be the next Jerry Rice and he was going to fit perfectly with the WR we drafted last year and our heralded new FA WR. Yeah… not so much. The HC and his staff haven’t impressed me in the least, yet I can’t honestly say I expected much with the roster this GM has put together in his 2 1/2 years here. Things are looking as bad, if not worse than they ever have for the NYJ, and I’m becoming numb to it. Instead of going out and watching the team I rooted for all my life, I stay home and watch my local team, the Panthers. It’s funny to see a team with so many old Jets and a HC we almost hired play well, and it makes them an easy watch. Will I turn my back on the Jets? No, I can’t do that. If they’re ever on down here I’ll watch, and I’ll keep up with what’s going on with them here, but I’m done watching for now. If things ever turn around, I’ll be right back to watch every game but for now, I’ll follow the Panthers every week, and a couple of other teams I enjoy watching, like the Browns and Chargers. It took 57 years, but this last 4-5 year stretch has me totally apathetic about this team. I just refuse to watch any more football like this organization has given us for the last 19 games.

  4. Almost no one is beefing at all in the least about us losing games. People are beefing because most of the 'promising' players we have gone out and got or drafted look like garbage. If we were losing but Elijah Moore was looking good, Michael carter was looking good, Zac Wilson was making some great plays and having errors. Becton was not hurt all the time. The offense though not producing big points as looking creative and promising. That though losing all world Quinnen and mosley looked good. The team flat out looks bad, the offensive scheme looks bad. Realistic fans know the jets will stay the course as douglas and saleh are going no where for at least3 more years. People totally have the right to be pissed, the team is almost unwatchable right now. Win or look good losing.

  14. Woody knew the plan thats why JD got a 6 yr contract and not the normal 4 for 1st time GMs. Idzik got 2 years not one. his first year was 8-8 and after that he didnt sign any FAs. i forget the exact number but it was high amount of money he left. many thought he was trying to screw Rex so he could get his own HC. plus Idzik wasn't in a full rebuild like JD is. we were 2-3 years removed from back to back AFCCGs. we didn't need to tear it down. we needed a few key draft picks and FAs to get back to the playoffs. but he blew that. when Saleh was hired he and JD decided to go young. play all these draft picks the next 2 years. and it was going to be rough at the start. there is no way they did this without Woodys ok. and why dont we give the 21 draft class more than 3 games before we say JD cant draft.

  16. Part of the reason these teams are ranked high is because they have played the jets, no? Now having said that people on here got caught up before the years talking about how the jets were not going to face many really good QBs while forgetting there are two sides of the ball.

  17. No but he's on the hot seat entering next season. The reality is whether fans like it or not, JD pitched a 3 year plan to this ownership that including trading anything of value, hiring a rookie HC, and drafting a QB #2 overall. When you gut a roster to accumulate picks, ownership is going to let you see it through. JD received approval to trade Adams and Darnold and part of the pitch why, was it's going to help acquire assets in the future to make the team better. You dont abandon the plan because 3 games into a destined to be ugly season is, well, ugly. This was all expected, like it or not.

  19. Having a scheme that relies on two TEs I am totally fine with, now just go out and get two TEs that are not among the worst in the league.

  20. I went back to work in a sweaty kitchen four months before I had to just so I could have Sundays off to watch this garbage. It's very hard to get Sundays off in the restaurant industry, so I jumped at the chance. Also bought season tickets for the first time. I need to take up meditation...or medication.

  22. So if I am correct (and I seldom am) at Week 3 of the season we are currently without our starting: LT (key contributor) DE (key contributor) Both safeties (one key contributor) ILB (key contributor) 2 of 3 key WRs RB (Coleman) Also lost 2 or 3 key reserve pieces on our O Line That's 9 or 10 key players we were counting on. Was gonna always be tough sledding but now we are looking at climbing the Materhorn each week. Gonna be a looooong season...

  27. I've also been a Jets fan for 57 years...1964. However, I was 16 years old at the time. Like Savage, I was into the old AFL in those days...wide open football compared to the slow type offense of the NFL. I'm too invested in this team to change at my age now, but if someone had showed me the future after the Jets won the SB and we would be this bad going forward, I would have dumped the Jets back in '69. But, those MOFO's that control the future didn't let me know the future. So, here I am until I meet Savage once again...I am sure when we meet up he'll remind me of what a compiler Curtis Martin was.

  29. 53 carries for Derrick Henry. 7,613 yards. 47 TDs. Denzel Mims starts and records 1 catch for -3 yards, then pulls his pants down revealing a Ken Doll crotch and the internet explodes with corn-filled diarrhea - metaphorically speaking.

  34. The funniest outcome would be Mims going 8-139-2 TDs this week, then getting benched next week because of some lackluster effort on kick returns in practice.

  38. Usually a nice snarky “ don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out” remark is fun. Sometimes “ come on man, it’ll get better is appropriate.” All I can say at this point is,” I feel you brother, it’s been an angry bumpy road.” I’m going to go drive golf balls this Sunday and I don’t even golf. Find some green and white ones and smash those little bastards.

  41. Apathy has infected many of us. Mike Vaccaro wrote a nice piece in the NY Post about how the Jets and Giants are losing a generation of fans again. My nephew won’t watch this team. I am not a parent, but how many of you can’t get your kids to watch either? Or do you even want them to invest in this dreadful franchise? https://www.google.com/amp/s/nypost.com/2021/09/28/lousy-giants-jets-risk-losing-another-generation-of-nfl-fans/amp/
