  1. Regardless if you've been positive or negative towards the Jets on this board, all of you are true fans. Enjoy the day. We all deserve to enjoy a football Sunday...even if it only a couple of times a year ....because of our dedication. I'm proud of you all for sticking with it. Enjoy the week my fellow idiots who refuse to give up on this team. I love you all

  2. CJ Mosley is the tone setter and culture shifter the Jets thought Jamal Adams would be. Say what you will about his contract or the importance of his position but he is 100% in on this thing. One of my current favorites.

  4. The Jets have sucked for six consecutive seasons, and we've lost sight of what Same Old Jets used to mean. The Same Old Jets as we knew them were laid to rest on January 3, 2016 when the 10-5, win and they're in New York Jets sh*t the bed and lost to a Bills team that only had pride to play for. Same Old Jets didn't always mean unwatchable, hopeless football. On the contrary, the Same Old Jets would invent new and exciting ways to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The Same Old Jets would motor into the 4th quarter with leads only to go into the dreaded prevent defense, which for the Jets meant that it prevented them from winning the game. That, or they would play for the FG instead of staying aggressive and trying to score a TD, and then miss the FG attempt. The Same Old Jets would beat teams that they had no business beating, only to follow it up with an absolute stinker. The Same Old Jets would surprisingly be in playoff contention until late in the season, and end up with a 7-9., 8-8, or a 9-7 record. The Same Old Jets would go 10-6 (playoffs), 4-12, 10-6 (playoffs), 4-12. THAT is what I remember the Same Old Jets being. The Same Old Jets did NOT mean six consecutive seasons of futility with the worst 7-9 season in football history. (The Same Old Jets did rise from the dead for that ONE game against the Bengals) Here are my top 5 Same Old Jets moments: 5. Doug Brien misses two makeable FG's that prevented the Jets from going to the AFC Championship Game. Herm Edwards goes ultra conservative and doesn't try to get better field position for FG attempt. 4. Ryan Fitzpatrick throws three interceptions and loses to Bills, and misses playoffs 3. Jets start the season at 8-3 with Brett Favre, and end the season at 9-7 missing the playoffs 2. Bill Parcells decides that a Leon Johnson halfback option was a better choice than letting Neil O'Donnell take the Jets to victory in Detroit. 1. Mark Gastineau spears Bernie Kosar on an incomplete pass that would have resulted in a 3 and 18 in the 1986 AFC Divisional Round of the playoffs. This was the most traumatic loss I have experienced to this day. If this were truly the Same Old Jets, the 2022 New York Jets start the season 6-0, and end up missing the playoffs by one game, and that game is lost against a practice squad QB who is only starting because the top two QBs went down. We are watching the New Same Old Jets which is much less fun version of this team. At least the Old Same Old Jets gave you that false hope, which at the end of the day was still hope.

  5. For the uninitiated: 11 = 1 RB, 1 TE, 3 WR 12 = 1 RB, 2 TE, 2 WR 21 - 2 RB, 1 TE, 2 WR Our top two groupings are 11 and 12, pretty standard for NFL teams but a big change from how things worked in SF. 11: 61% of our plays. Squarely in the middle of the pack, ranking 16th in the league. 12: 32% of our plays. This ranks fourth in the NFL. LaFleur loves his two TE sets. 21: 1% of our plays. We've ran five all year. For 12, the top two teams are MIA and ATL but these stats are misleading as Gesicki and Pitts line up wide or in the slot frequently and are TEs in name only. In truth, those are 11 personnel for those two teams. DAL is the third team above us, who feed Zeke and have a solid TE in Schultz. Then there's us: a team who can't run the ball and has subpar TEs trotting out this grouping a third of the time. It's malpractice. For 11, while we're in the middle of the pack in terms of usage, we rank second in the league for pass rate out of 11, dropping back 79% of the time. Granted there are many variables to consider (us being terrible and behind frequently thus needing to throw the ball, etc.) being one of the more predictable playcallers isn't something you strive for. Now let's look at the success of these two groupings. 11 Passer Rating: 75.4 TD: INT: 4:5 YPC: 4.6 12 Passer Rating: 28.7 TD: INT: 1:6 (!!!) YPC: 3.3 In short, LaFleur needs to throw 12 personnel in the trash. We can't run the ball and we sure as hell can't throw the ball out of this grouping. I get that he wants to help his OL by having two TEs out there but Coleman and Ty Johnson are capable blockers and it gives you more flexibility and a great chance to keep the defense on it's toes. I'm sure that 12 is a shock to Wilson's system too, coming from the college game. For those curious, how this compares to SF. Last year, so we have a full season to look at. 11: 44% (29th) 12: 12% (27th) 21: 32% (1st) 2021 11: 45% (27th) 12: 11% (29th) 21: 32% (1st) LaFleur left the 21 grouping in SF. Now SF has had a nice stable of RBs for years, but they also pick up guys off the street and turn them into productive players. I believe it's more the system than the players. The Jets clearly likes Carter, Coleman is a vet with experience in the system and both guys can catch the ball. Not that this will solve our woes, but it's interesting that LaFleur has left a sizeable chunk of their playbook and system in California.

  6. First 400 yard game by a Jet QB in 20 years. Both great and pathetic at same time.

  7. The asked coach does Mike White have an opportunity to keep this job. Answer. Anything is possible. He has a huge opportunity here. Lets see what he does with it. It is official. This is not Zach Wilson's job as long as Mike White plays good and wins games. Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Nobody wanted to start the game thread, so here we go. Mike White will get his first NFL start. CJ Mosley and Davis should have the defense looking much better. Can the Jets pull off the upset? Let's go Jets, I will be there in a few hours hoping they have a shocker in them (hey now). Let's go Jets.

  9. I hope that idiot scrub James Morgan is happy. Jets draft him give his scrubby butt a chance in the nfl and after getting beat out cashes his chips as soon as he can. Enjoy rotting in carolina you tit.

  10. No bullsh*t, Zach Wilson needs to be taking notes. Mike White isn’t playing spectacularly but he is finding the underneath guy every time he needs to. That is exactly what Wilson’s game is missing

  12. To me yes it does. Shows to me there is talent on this team We just need experience. Just need to start showing consistency and it will come.

  13. He is. CB1 is no longer a need. To be quite honest, I’m not sure CB is a need at all. Carter is also a keeper. Echols is raw, but the talent is there.

  14. Yes if he throws for 400 yards and 3 TDS the next two weeks he can keep the job

  15. We beat cincy by out scoring them and beat Tennesse and just get rolled by other teams. The NFL is a strange league indeed. What a great pleasant surprise this game was.

  17. IDK. We have to give it a couple more games. Mike White looked descent when he first got into the game in NE and today he was really good. It does appear that Zach is huge issue. We didn't have Corey Davis either. Today just gives me hope.

  24. Anyone notice where Mike LaFleur is? He’s up in the box, instead of on the sideline. It’s where he wanted to be before Zach had him hit the sideline. He’s seeing the game better, therefore the play calling is much better. Could be that simple. Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app

  33. The catch rule is so convoluted. Possession, two feet, an anus pucker, and a penis twitch are required for it to be a catch.

  34. Mike White made some bad throws but they weren’t terrible and the interceptions were just unlucky. He’s still playing way above what we’ve seen from Zach.

  36. I think my spirit finally broke, I opened the fridge last night and saw my wife made fresh bean dip and restocked the beverages. I felt guilty! Up until that moment I was planning on installing a new battery and getting the cars ready for winter while listening to the radio broadcast. Now I better pretend I'm in to it. I've got a great wife and dont want to rock that boat. Let's go D, let's White wash the Bengals!
