  1. So we know the team is bad. We know they were bad last year and the year before that. Everyone has a right to complain and voice their opinions. But at the same time, people have a right to be a fan of this team. They have a right to say what they feel good about. Some posters are making the site painful right now, turning everything into a "well nothing matters because Zach sucks" site. We don't censor football opinions but let this serve as notice to the few people that are ruining thread after thread after thread. We are going to clean things up and soon so that people can start talking about things again. If your commentary is taking threads off-topic or just is the same thought over and over again, we don't need to be beaten over the head with it. Tough season, no doubt. I will be there on Sunday, the day after Christmas. Right now people on the site would say I am an idiot for going. We all have our opinions but the hate that Jets fans are receiving, for rooting for the team is over the top. Thanks everyone, and go Jets.

  2. Thank you so much Captain! Tellingly my father whom I had been taken care of during his ongoing battle with memory loss passed last week and he was the one who made me into a Jets fan. His motto was simple, “life will not go your way most of the time and it is up to you to decide to make whatever path you take a path of courage and caring, so stay strong!” Hence I will never give up on the Jets because my father never gave up on me! Stay Strong fellow Jets fans… Stay Strong!!

  3. Maybe I'm just missing it, which is possible, but I don't see those persistent optimists injecting themselves into discussions about other team areas/players, derailing that discussion as an opportunity to bring up their optimism regarding Wilson. Or anyway if there's even an isolated exception post it's just that; it's hardly been the norm like in the other direction. Also it's his site .

  4. Good thing we have straightened this out now. Woody has given the reigns to Joe Douglas and Joe knocked it out of the park w/ the Saleh hire. Hang in there Jet fans. This will turn around soon.

  5. We all know I am not a whiner who begs for the flag on every play, but where was this administrative intervention when myself and @SAR I were trying to stay optimistic about the Holy Martyr Adam Gase? Huh? We were pilloried, but no one from management came to our defense! Is it becaise, like Zach, Wilson supporters are cushy.soft beta males who need to be shielded from fair competition whereas Objective chroniclers of The Gase Era are tough, hardcore self-sufficient adults?

  7. People love to sh*t on Fitz, and he did suck in 2016, but his one solid season in 2015 is the only decent QB play this team has seen in 13 years.

  8. There’s legit criticism, and then there’s the ceaseless banging of your own drum over and over again, day after day, post after post, thread after thread …for the sole objective of shouting loudly to everyone and anyone how right you think you are about something!…anything….everything…. putting your fragile & delicate ego ahead of the Jets or genuine informed debate is tiresome and childish and not surprisingly, p!sses people off. We are all prone to the odd outburst of frustration, goodness knows we’ve had enough of it with this team, but far too many people exist here to be right about something and take far too much joy and pleasure about it when the team struggles or their oft stated position is affirmed by something because….look at me! If you don’t get why we don’t all come here to worship at the alter of your misunderstood genius, your under appreciated brilliance, your all-encompassing knowledge of everything then fair enough, but maybe all of us could do with a wider appreciation of those around us, a greater sense of self-awareness….as human beings we are programmed to want and react to affirmation, a thumbs up or an agreement with your view is what makes us tick. It’s ok to have someone think we are right about something. But when that tips over into a board-spamming obsession because you’re worried we didn’t all hear you the first time then….yawn for balance, the principle applies across the board and just as much to those who see only relentless sunshine as it does to those who love to live in misery. When every completed pass is a sign we are destined for the Super Bowl and woe betide you for not seeing the greatness is just as frustrating. Some of us just want to be informed, enlightened and to laugh and we realise that we come here to be educated as much as to add to the debate and collective wisdom it’s entirely possible to see very little, or even nothing, to be positive about with this team yet still contribute something of value to the debate and the wider knowledge, but negativity alone is not the issue, in the same way as positivity, or choosing to see the glass half full rather than half empty shouldn’t be considered a crime of stupidity or blind faith.

  9. Holy sh*t you guys suck, it’s pretty obvious what he’s saying. We don’t need to every thread to turn into a ZW sucks thread. It’s pretty much accepted across the board, with the exception of a slight few, that he has had a terrible year. Chances of him turning it around not great. And a few other negative points that are probably more right than wrong don’t have to be brought into every discussion.

  11. I've looked at threads that have gone off topic. Spent a few hours reading. The only motivation I have on a normal day is for there to be more posts. So all things being equal this would normally be a good thing. But the team has a 22 year old QB that people are threatening physically. And you can't talk about anything without someone telling you he will never be a good QB. If people want to root for the team and believe Zach will be good, they are allowed to do that.

  13. Taylor Heineken or whatever, Davis Mills, Nick Mullins, Practice Squad trash Mike White, and a bunch of other late round throwaway picks, UDFAs, random nobodies get on the field for us or other teams and they look like competent NFL QBs... not only efficient, they're productive and fun to watch.... Meanwhile, we pick "elite talents" in the top 5 and they look like they've never played the sport before. WTF. The modern game is designed for offenses to score, and we can't even teach our kids not to run backwards 30 yards every time the pocket isn't perfect. It's exasperating.

  14. What is cool about this is how few bad long term contracts there are. Joe Douglas isn't giving them out. CJ has a big cap # but at least he is tackling people. I believe the position that is going to benefit most from playing kids before they are ready is cornerback. I believe the position that needs the biggest outside infusion of talent on the defense is a close tie between Safety and Linebacker. Mims is so disappointing if we felt better about him they could sign Berrios and be lined up nicely with WR 1 - 4. Instead they are going to need help there next year.

  18. For me, and again this is just me, the turn in the functionality of this organization was the move to bring in Tim Tebow. The Jets were on a fairly good run, and for this franchise, practically a dynasty. But Woody (and maybe Rex) could not let it takes its own course (building organically). Woody seemed to get drunk with the power of having a good football team and the marketing luxuries that come with that. He had to milk that cash cow a little bit more. Enter Tim Tebow. A marketing godsend that sings to middle America. Perfect for Woody to glom onto that, while the crest of the wave was high. Problem was, it was just not a good fit. The Jets had Sanchez, and he was just ok. But in terms of Jet qb development, he should have been given a better shot. This move undercut his knees and stability. Now you have a young qb, somewhat fragile in confidence, and you bring in this Tebow hype machine. It just seemed to upset the whole balance of the team. And I believe that Rex may have played a big part, also. The Wildcat just ate his defenses up. And in his mind, anything that ate his defenses up was sure to work miracles. That, and Rex Ryan just does not have staying power in an organization. Hhe is bound to blow things up at some point, because that would make daddy Buddy proud. It is the Ryan way. Maybe everything would have gone downhill as fast without the Tebow addition, but it sure did seem to put everything in a breakneck mode to destruction.

  21. It’s this simple. It’s referred to as spamming, and it’s the top item for me to click on when applying the ban hammer. There are different topics posted on the board. Not every one of them needs the usual suspects tangentially interjecting, “Zach Wilson is the worst QB in the league,” or, “JD can’t draft,” etc. I’m sure there’s a thread for those thoughts at any given time; probably a half dozen of them. Place your repetitive thoughts in those.

  22. Cant imagine dealing with something like that, so sorry for your loss, CB. My father blessed me with this curse as well and we talk after every loss, errr, I mean game. He's up there, so not sure how many years more we have of this but the one thing that amazes me about him is his memory is dude will call out specific downs and distance and time of the game and play call, it's astonishing. Love your fathers Motto, RIP.

  23. My own personal opinion is that this season has had more positives than any in the last half decade. I understand and respect that others don't share that, and it is a glass half full, glass needs beer debate. Opinions are like a-holes, everyone here is one.

  25. As the season comes to an end there are too many "unknowns" on the roster. And unfortunately the biggest unknown starts at the QB spot, let's review: QB - There's nothing Zach Wilson can do over the final three games that is going to make me comfortable about projecting him as a "franchise QB". Way too many missed layup throws, too many prolonged periods of "3 and outs", too many blitzes that aren't picked up and not enough checkdown/chain moving completions. I'm probably being harsh but after countless young QB's who've amounted to nothing I'm "damaged". Wilson does have "Mahomes/Rodgers" type of arm talent but can he incorporate the traits Mike White, Josh Johnson & Joe Flacco displayed when they ran this offense? RB - We need at least one RB maybe two because I'm not impressed with Ty Johnson or LaMical Perine. When Johnson had the opportunity to start he dropped every throw to him and was benched. And Perine has been so unimpressive that RB's on the practice squad have played more than him. TE - At this point we need a total overhaul at the position. I want to see Kenny Yeboah in the final three games to see if he's worth investing in going forward. LT - With two high draft picks and Mekhi Becton's injury the LT spot has to be looked at. Can Douglas trust Becton to stay healthy or does he bring in another LT prospect? WR - Elijah Moore has been dynamic when healthy and Corey Davis was a disappointment. They'll both be back next year, Moore needs to stay on the field and Davis has to earn his $$$. But we definitely need at least one high end WR free agent/draft pick. Braxton Berrios will probably be back because of his special teams ability but he's a #4/#5 WR at best. Denzel Mims has done nothing to earn the trust of the staff or playing time, I'll be shocked if he's back. DLine - A healthy Carl Lawson is a good start but we must add at least two more edge rushers in the off-season. Add in Bryce Huff and you'll have a nice four man rotation at DE. I would then kick John Franklin-Myers inside next to Quinnen Williams and hopefully terrorize QB's. LB - CJ Mosley did not catch "LeVeon Bell" disease and has been better than anticpated. Quincy Williams is raw but has shown intriguing skills. But a high draft pick should be used on a LB who can be a dynamic sideline to sideline game changer Safeties - At least two safeties need to be brought in, one veteran to control/settle down the back end. The other safety could be a draft pick but they must be a ballhawk who takes the ball away. Does Marcus Maye take a one year "make good" contract? Ashtyn Davis & Elijah Riley can be kept around to compete but we can't rely on them.

  29. No jets fan would think your an idiot. The Miami game was fun to watch. I know I'm the minority but Zach will be fine he just needs some help. I for one wish I could go to more games live. I usually just catch the late buffalo game in buffalo cause of family. It was great a couple years ago when we cleared the stadium before the game ended. One of my all time favorite times at a game. My girl was with me and a few other jets fan in the seas of buffalo Mafia. It was great as they all left ashamed. Love the moments

  30. Sometimes I feel like the Jets have been slowly starting to build something and then I see the whole roster right in front of me and realize this thing is still a couple years away. It's amazing how empty the cupboard is at positions like TE, LB, and S. It's crazy that the WR group still needs a pretty big infusion of talent. It's sad that there are likely no more than three real keepers on the OLine. And Michael Carter, if we're being honest with ourselves, should be a high-end RB2 and not a bell cow kind of RB1. Bottom line - We'll need every single one of these upcoming draft picks...and more importantly, we'll need to hit on a better percentage of them than we have the past couple years.

  32. Break out game for Lawrence? He hasn't had one yet? He must have been rookie of the week, no? Hasnt thrown more than 1 TD since Halloween? Hasn't been declared a bust and should be benched like Zach? What gives?

  33. Know it’s a minority opinion around here, but I’m actually hoping the Jets win. I’ll take the draft position as a consolation prize, but the better Zach and the team play down the stretch, the better.

  34. The front 7 is abysmal at tackling and the interior line can’t play the run at all. Rankins has been atrocious, Shepherd isn’t an NFL player and Quinnen is a pass rush merchant looking to pile up sacks. Mosley isn’t close to the player he was and the other LBers aren’t NFL players. The decision to bring in a bunch of lighter guys and Mosley dropping 15lbs has meant every team that plays us can just physically dominate us. It’s not like they’re particularly explosive either to compensate. The secondary is trash as well but not really relevant to why we’re so historically bad. The front 7 just gets bullied every week and it makes it impossible to compete.

  36. This is my hope. It’s pretty clear that JD and Saleh are partners on the same page. That alone is different than anything we’ve seen around here since Tanny and Rex - the last time this team had any success at all. Time will tell if the page they’re on is a good one, but I like what they’re trying to do and that’s why I support them. The forced marriages of the previous decade were disasters. This time they’re actually trying to do things the right way.

  37. I would add that our CBs coach has developed that unit and have out played their draft positions, RB coach for the development of Michael Carter, OLINE coach with AVT and pulling the line respectable after a horrific start to the season, Wr coach developing Elijah Moore and Berrios, and dare I mention that Zach has won rookie of the week twice and has made strides in scripted plays, bounce back accuracy vs Fins, cut down on the INTs over the past several games, choosing better situations to go off script, and less hero ball. There are bright spots if you care to admit it
    8 points
  38. Exactly. I generally read most posts, and I just don't see this supposed Zach Wilson is great cult that is infuriating people to spam the sh*t out of every single thread. Quite the opposite. Just about every poster acknowledges ZW has been bad, some say he's a 22 year old rookie, some say it's a crap team around him, but nobody saying he's good. But God forbid anyone says anything that resembles any form of an opinion other than ZW is the worst QB to ever touch a football at any level of football including flag football in the backyard, a few posters, one in particular decides to spray diarrhea all over the thread, and worse he sprays that same diarrhea all over any thread that he can to get the topic back to ZW as the worst QB who has ever lived. There are a few that do this, and it's making the boards unreadable. I blocked the worst of them, but others aren't far behind.

  39. I'd try and resign kroft as a #3 or #4 TE and pay him at that level, if he wants more, goodbye! I'd try and resign Berrios. I'd make Crowder and offer but if someone else wants to out bid us, goodbye! I'd make an offer to the Doctor and Moses but would not overpay Moses. I'd make an offer to Fatakusi but would not overpay, he had a big chance to earn serious coin this year and he has not performed All the rest of the UFA's can take a hike, including Maye. I mean I may make him a budget offer but no way I pay close to what he has been getting.
