I posted this in the game thread a bit ago but it belongs here: No Mac Jones wasnt the problem last night but I'm going to stick to my guns and says his limitations are a long-term problem for New England. The great Bill Belicheat, drafted a Qb who lets face it, cant handle the weather conditions of Foxborough. Mac Jones had never seen snow, till this year. I want to preface my, Mac Jones aint all that post with, I'd be ecstatic if Zach Wilson had a rookie season like Mac Jones. That said, I've taken heat for saying I dont think there is much more to see from Mac Jones than what we've already seen this season and I think his Dec and now playoffs, plays that out. In the month of Dec, Mac Jones threw for 463 yards, 52% comp, 2 TD's and 4 INT's, 5.8 ypc, 57.5 rating. Lets compare that to October for example, when everyone was sh*tting their pants he was the next Brady. 1,300, 68%, 7/2, 7.8, 98. That is a pathetically miserable regression at the most important junction of the season. The Patriots went 1-4 over their last 5 games. Why? Mac Jones is a dink and dunk, limited passer who cant push the ball downfield and handle the weather. Peep this: Weather below 40 degrees; 58% comp. Whereas he completed over 70% of his passes in weather above 40 degrees. He also struggles when playing from behind, significant difference when he asked to throw the ball more. Everything gets worse. CMP ATT YDS CMP% AVG TD INT SACK RTG 127 175 1,420 72.6 8.1 10 2 14 110.7 185 293 2,039 63.1 7.0 10 11 5 79.416 points

We should stick Zach into that machine that turned little Stevie Rogers into Captain America and he, too, could become Josh Allen12 points

It’s our favorite time of year again. The one season we actually seem to win a bit before the games start. So as usual with two top picks I have been checking out the early mock drafts. For some reason that I can’t quite figure out almost every single draft shows the Jets taking Darryl Stingley Jr at number 4. And almost all the comments openly state what a great talent he is before pointing out much of the projection was based on 2019 tape and that he barely played in the two years after that. My question is how does this make any sense? Is it just trolling the Jets to get a rise out of us fans or do they really believe the Jets are so incompetent that they would take any player with this injury history so high? I don’t care how bad they think we need a #1 corner (though from all I’ve seen Salah’s system is much more predicated on generating a pass rush to defend the pass) taking a guy with his history of injuries at 4 or even 10 would almost be professional malpractice.9 points

Some crazy stuff from this game - First time a team scored 7 straight TDs in the playoffs - First game ever where a team didn't punt, kick a field goal or turn the ball over - Allen threw more TDs than incompletions - Bills had more TDs than 3rd downs9 points

Is Christian McCaffrey lazy and does he hate football? He missed most of the last two season with minor nicks and dings - a strained hamstring that was supposed to be a 2 week injury and ended up being 8 weeks - a minor shoulder injury that lasted weeks and on and on. Does he hate football? Did he lose desire after getting his big contract? I could name dozens of players that do not recover from injuries as expected. How about we see how he looks next season?8 points

Last season, Becton entered the Raiders game with an injured shoulder. Gase inexplicably elected to have him dress, but not start. When the back up LT was injured early in the game, Becton went in and played - injured. Not surprisingly, he injured the shoulder in the game. So - yes. Becton has given it a go at less than 100%.8 points

I’m sad I missed the game. I see the Bills Pats game went as expected. Mac Jones does not have the traits to be productive when his run game and defense is not playing at an elite level. He’s already hit his ceiling - this is it for him. Josh Allen is just getting started on the other hand. He will win a Superbowl in his career8 points

to get from 19 catches to 80 catches, 200 yards to 800 yards, and 1 TD to 4 TDs, you need to multiply by 4. 7x4 = 28.8 points

Bill Belichick has 1 playoff win in his career without @TomBrady. It was Jan 1, 1995 and the QB was #Jets legend Vinny Testaverde. #Patriots7 points

After getting rolled up on, Wirfs actually came back into today's game and "tried to give it a go". Anyone here actually believing Becton would have done this? He went off last year twice for "the sniffles" and "getting winded".7 points

This sour grapes stuff from Jets fans regarding Brady is just pathetic. Recognize greatness when it’s staring right at you. This is a truly generational Babe Ruth/Michael Jordan class of athlete that you’ll likely never see again in your lifetimes. The dude isn’t in our division anymore and his continued success makes Belichick look even more like a fraudulent dickhole. Guy is on the fast track to winning his 2nd Super Bowl in as many years since leaving New England. Meanwhile Belichick couldn’t even reach .500 last season and then this year had the doors blown off him in the first round.7 points

The people posting these mocks have zero clue about JD and how he works. I’d say there is less than a 1% chance he would take a DB at 4. He’s publicly stated the line of scrimmage and weapons are a priority. He got great value from DBs in 5th round or later. Saleh’s system NEVER needed great DBs, it needs great pass rushers. These mocks are ignorant and totally informed.7 points

For some strange reason there's a premium valuation placed on cornerbacks in a league that is largely legislating 'tight coverage' out of the league.7 points

Wilson is elusive, with a quick release and a strong arm. He’s smart, spends time at his craft, and is getting better at reading defenses by the week. He will be the FQB and some fans will always be haters lol7 points

I love how quickly you guys decide how good or bad other teams QBs are, yet with our guy “it will be 3 years before we will know”.7 points
