  1. Friendly reminder that Mark Sanchez has more playoff wins than the last 25 years of Cowboys teams combined.

  3. The only solution is winning. It'll change when this team wins. As Fans, all we can (and should) do is to demand better.

  5. I was awoken last night by a green ghost who looked like a cross between Shrek and Don Maynard. When I asked him his name, he murmured “the Ghost of what is to come” He told me the following while fluffing up my pillow and tucking me back in. 1. That the Jets FO knows they need good players now and will not reach 2. They prefer to trade back but will not do so for future picks or 2nd rounders 3. In round 1, they will draft a WR named London. Their other pick will be either an interior OL or a CB named Sauce, depending on how they fill needs in FA 4. Surprisingly to some, they will not draft an Edge until the beginning of Round 2. They view Karlaftis as a bust prospect and Ojabo as a 3-4 Edge 5. They believe Edge and LB are deep in this draft and will add them in Round 2 (while also landing a LB in FA). Early recovery reports on Carl Lawson are “extremely promising”, he whispered 6. Tight End #2 will be taken in round 3 after Tight End #1 in FA 7. Somewhat miscellaneous, they are looking to trade Wesco for either Wendy’s curly fries or a McDonald’s apple pie. “Saleh supposedly wants him out really bad” This is how my spirit friend told me it will play out. Nice guy by the way, left chanting “Marino sucks.” Please don’t shoot the messenger.

  7. It sounded more like he was taking a shot at the cowboys. and as for him using the Jags and Jets as examples of non-playoff teams - we aren’t in the playoffs and haven’t been since the first Obama administration. So . . .

  8. Look…how can I say this as clearly as possible; we suck. When people talk about the bad teams like Jaguars, Lions throw in the Giants, we’re one of them. like someone else mentioned before, winning changes the narrative. Look at the Bungles.

  11. I get that this is a fluff piece, but there are plenty of reasons for optimism. Joe Douglas’ second draft was a lot better than his first, and I don’t think that was dumb luck. His approach was much different even though he went OL-WR two years in a row. In his first draft, he looked to make a splash with Becton’s HoF level upside over the safer Wirfs. In year two, he traded up for maybe the safest OL available - and it paid off. In his first year, he got cute with the trade down and probably missed on the WR he wanted so in his second he did the stick and pick in what looked like a sure fire trade down scenario and grabbed Moore, who also looks like a foundational piece. The entire second draft had an obvious plan to it, whereas his first was kinda scattershot. It makes sense, the team was in worse shape the previous year and needed help everywhere, but I also think the partnership with Saleh and his staff is significantly better than with Gase, and that resulted in a very targeted lottery process. The four win team still has a lot of holes, and I’m looking forward to see how they fill them. Pass rush on defense and receiving targets on offense would be my priorities. I’m hoping JD sees things similarly, and have a lot of reason to believe that he does. I’ll be disappointed if he takes any secondary players or IOL in the top ten, but over two drafts he seems to understand positional value pretty well, so I’m not overly concerned.

  14. Cooper: Oh man, I wanted him so bad in that draft. Remember actually being debated if he or Kevin White was a better fit for us. Hated that the Raiders picked him. Then everyone rejoiced when Schereff was picked by Washington, so BPA of the draft Leonard Williams fell to us. Ugh. I wouldn't mind Cooper because I think he's a prime restructure candidate, since his contract isn't guaranteed. I think they can convert some to a bonus and maybe get the numbers down after a deal. I love his route running, albeit him being not so great this year can be a bit worrisome. However, he's one year younger than Diggs, won't cost nearly as much in draft capital, and we have some cap space. 3 year average before trade: Diggs: 76 catches, 1000 yards, 7.7 TDs, 68.2 Y/G, 8.9 Y/Target Cooper: 79.7, 1056 yards, 7 TDs, 67.4 Y/G, 9.0 Y/Target They both are great route runners. It would just need the contract to be renegotiated to lower the numbers, but increase guarantees. If they can get the cap hit to the 12-14 million range, I take the shot. Metcalf: So I had the misfortune of being in auto draft for this year's fantasy draft in one league I'm involved with. Ended up with Metcalf and Lockett. Added in the Jets pick, ended up watching a ton of Seahawk games. Metcalf is weird, he's an absolute freak, borderline diva, that just completely disappears at times. Lockett was by far their more consistent pass catcher, and Metcalf seemed to always be upset on the sidelines. Part of it was the injury to Wilson, but he just seems so inconsistent, playing with a stud QB and a very good receiver on the other side. I don't know what to think of him, because his physical peak and ceiling is top 3 WR in the league, but he seems to have a lot of off games, mixed in with a few monster games. Considering the draft cost plus he's going to demand a top tier contract as soon as the trade goes through, I'm going to pass. I'd rather have Cooper with low draft compensation, and a lower salary than give up a first round pick. Essentially, I'd rather have first round pick and Cooper (at say 14 million cap hit) than 5th rd pick and Metcalf (at say 18 million cap hit). Ridley: I've already talked about him, perfect fit, but I'm not giving up anything more than the 3rd round pick or worse. Too much risk and money. I'm picking Cooper because I don't want to pay in both money and draft picks. I want a discount on one, which is the Seahawks mistake with Jamal. They paid in both.

  15. No way you give #10 overall for him. He is on the outs in New Orleans the saints are in cap and draft pick hell. #10 overall for a high price tag guy coming off his issues would be pure crazy. I don't hate the player and he is worth exploring but #10? no freaking way.

  16. Seriously. People talking about Jameis Winston and Matt Ryan in this thread. Give me a break. Everyone throws for 4000 yards now. I’d rather my QB throw for 4200, 40 TDs and 6 interceptions which is a normal Rodgers season than 4900, 25, and 12.

  31. Not trading up to get one of these guys. I’m not sold on them. I’m a partial Oregon fan and have never watched a game and said, wow Kayvon is really dominating today. Often times I wonder where he is. Hutchinson, to me, is a one year wonder. Kinda scary how ineffective he was against Georgia in the playoffs. That scares me.

  33. Sure. I'm certainly not suggesting the Bengals should neglect the OL any further. I'm merely suggesting that it doesn't require numerous high picks to make an OL work.
