  1. The rules are fine. Play some defense.

  2. The Bills #1 Defense was beaten by Offense. Offense wins in the modern NFL. Even the best Defense cannot defeat the best Offenses. The Jets need to build Offense first and foremost. A legit weapon on Offense > anything on Defense, especially given our investment in Zach Wilson last draft. Prove me wrong. If the Bills can't stop the Chiefs Offense, what on earth makes you think the Jets Defense ever will? Our only path forward is to outscore opponents, the modern NFL way to winning.

  3. I think the emphasis on offense has been obvious for a long time, but the reality is, everyone is riding high off last night's game, but it was not indicative of the weekend, at all. Teams need balance and defense is still very important. 4 games played this weekend, 2 were low scoring defensive battles. San Fran won a playoff Football game without scoring an offensive TD. The Bengals and Titans scored in the teens. And the Rams defense completely stymied Brady. The only reason it was a game is because they kept handing them the ball in the 4th quarter and the Bucs scored 14 pts in the last 3 minutes. They were stuck on a whopping 13 pts until the Rams started letting them back in the game. That game was largely a blow out because of the constant pressure Brady was under. Yes, build an offense, you need to score and it's probably the more consistent way to win but defense is still very important and can win you a game from time to time.

  4. And the divisional round of the playoffs is the perfect example of why. Josh Allen played one of the greatest games I've ever seen in my life last night and lost. Will time hold that against him? Aaron Rodgers out played Jimmy G., easily and lost a game because of his Special Teams. He's arguably the best to ever do it and his entire career has been sh*t on for 2 days straight. Matt Stafford was stuck in Detroit for his entire career, first season away from them, he's 2-0 in the playoffs and just beat that whiny POS Brady, hopefully knocking his punk ass into retirement. Does Joe Burrow win if Tannehill doesnt turn it over 3 times? I watched the best QB duel I've ever seen in my life last night. Mahomes and Allen put on a performance for the ages. Things they were doing, I've never seen QB's do at this level. This new wave of QB's, is better than the dinosaurs who are all done that owned the league the last 20 years. Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Herbert - they're better than Brady, Manning, Brees., Big Ben era. Fight me

  5. The Bengals won 4 games last season. This year they are in the AFC Title game.

  6. Mahomes, Hill, and Kelce are magic Allowing the chiefs to get into FG range (just inside of 50 yards, no less!) in 13 seconds is completely inexcusable. If they just squib kick it, a few more seconds run off the clock and they very likely win. They blew the game, IMO.

  7. Wow, wow, wow. Man oh Man. This last two weeks of playoff football (and even before that) has showcased some of the most entertaining football I have seen in years. Being a Jet fan, sometimes it is easy to forget why we fell in love with this game in the first place. So interesting that every game seems to have come down to a game winning field goal as time just about expired. I mean Brady marches is team down the field to score and tie the gam with just 40 plus seconds and Stafford pulls a Brady and gets his team in Field goal range with just 4 second left. Then I think about the Titans Bengals game. Burrow is sacked 9 TIMES and because of a tipped pass interception, he is able to get his team in range for game winning FG as time expires. Then the 49ers, not to be outdone, perform the same magic in front of the Green Bay Faithful and a helpless Aaron Rogers. All three road teams came away victorious this weekend. What an incredible follow up to a great Wild Card Playoff Weekend. I know the fans of the losing teams must be truly heartsick this weekend but for the neutral fan, this was why we watch.

  9. I don’t know. The Superbowls they lost got ridiculous, but if it’s playoffs only hmmmm. One thing I do know, it ranks 9+/10 on the comedy scale.

  10. Remember when this used to mean something? And remember when Montana's Superbowl winning drive in 1988 against the Bengals (the John Candy sighting game) used to mean something? Today, the Bills and Chiefs had about 3 of those in the final 2 minutes. It's just too easy to go up-and-down the field these days. The reason "The Drive" (and whatever they called Montana's TD drive in 1988) meant what it did was because it wasn't that easy to score. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qh8CnCVQAcY

  11. Threads like these are silly. We just fielded an all rookie team, including CS. Of course we've got a long way to go

  13. Go back three years and remind yourself what people were saying about josh Allen and how he was a deer in the headlights and totally bombed the last game. He had NO CHANCE according to everyone with eyeglasses

  14. For the most part the teams playing this weekend were all fairly loaded with talent and most have franchise QBs. The only outlier to me seems to be Garapolo but I'm starting to believe SF is riding both excellent coaching and excellent systems. I mean, Kittle and Deebo Samuel are great. Their RB is very good, not great, but that wide zone running scheme looks awfully familiar and has made our 4th round RB, Michael Carter, look pretty good at times as well. But the other teams.... elite QBs like Brady, Rodgers, Allen, Mahomes, Stafford, Burrow, etc. The Final 4 TEs.... CJ Uzomah, Kittle, Higbee, Kelce. 2 Elite guys, one very good, one good. The WRs that are left? Holy moly. Tyreek Hill, Cooper Kupp, Deebo Samuel, Jamar Chase and PLENTY of very, very good WR2s and WR3s. And just think about the elite talent that LOST this weekend.... AJ Brown, Mike Evans, Stefon Diggs, Davante Adams, Gronk, Derrick Henry, Aaron Jones, etc. Question - Do the Jets have one single starter anywhere near the zip code of those guys above? I'm just wondering if Elijah Moore (arguably the Jets only hopeful future weapon) would even be a WR2 on a couple of those teams.

  17. Thanks @TuscanyTile2 and I’m flattered, JN…. Really. Means more than coming from my own family. They don’t have a choice. You guys? Lord knows I’ve had enough full on Canadian meltdowns to be jeered over cheered.

  18. Why? Let’s say Zach Wilson completely implodes and gets benched by midseason next year (basically worst case scenario) - someone like white or a decent veteran backup couldn’t have success with an improved roster and hold the fort until a better long term option comes along? Granted, it sounds like the Jets want Flacco to be the backup (lol), but you get the point. Jets have assets out the ass. No excuse to not be at least decent next year. If they aren’t close to .500, it’s an F.

  19. The Packers scored 10 points. I think the "special teams lost them the game" narrative is silly. Rodgers came up small and his offense didn't score points. 3 points on nine drives after the opening TD. The game never should have been in position for a blocked punt to decide it.

  20. Buffalo were doormats for most of this century. Historically long play off drought. Two 9-7 seasons was the best they had to show for 15 years. Gaps can be closed.

  21. I understand the point of the thread.... However, the days of a squib costing a team 3+ seconds seem long gone. IMO KC would have fielded it on a knee or immediately kneeled. It probably wouldn’t have run any time off the clock unless KC fumbled it. All it would have done is maybe given KC better field position. The Bills defense screwed up it as simple as that.. 13 seconds is not enough time on a really great defense, period...

  24. Can someone tell me how these teams are soooo loaded with talent and all I hear about is how we have to play hardball with Braxton Berrios? I think we need to stop with worrying about the cap so much and build an F-ing roster that can win.

  27. Is it that much worse than the Brady Beli combo we had to watch for 20 years? And a step behind them along the way you had to worry about the Colts, Steelers and Ravens every year. Football is tough, JD shouldn't panic and make stupid mistakes. Build the team so it can be a contender for years.

  34. First off....Game for the ages! Probably one of the best football games played in the longest time I can remember. That said. This overtime rule in the playoffs. I can understand (kind of) why they have it the way they do for regular season. But when it comes to the playoffs, should both teams not get at least one possession? I mean, it literally comes down to a coin toss. Would have made that game even more exciting if Buffalo gets a chance to go down and score as well.

  35. Yeah!... Too bad a man wasnt paralyzed for life and eating out of a tube, unable to work anymore because he ran on to the field during a football game, probably because of a bet with his friends. Amiright?

  36. I agree that a great offense will beat a great defense in today's NFL. And given a choice between a great offensive playmaker and a great defensive playmaker, try to build the offense first. Especially with a young QB. Problem though is that this draft appears to lack offensive playmakers. Reaching for offense in the top 10 is how you end up drafting Corey Davis at 5, or Tavon Austin at 8, or John Ross at 9. Or Kevin White at 7. Just because we pick an offensive player does not mean he will have an impact.. If I thought this draft has an Amari Cooper or Julio Jones or AJ Green or Pitts/Waddle/Chase from last year, then absolutlely, take the offensive playmaker. A lot can change between now and April, but it does not appear this draft has that caliber of WR prospect. This is why I really hope that JD gets aggressive in the trade market. We are hearing that guys like Cooper, Metcalf, Ridley might be available in trade. We have plenty of assets to go get one of these guys. I don't think we can rely on this draft to get our #1, and I really don't want to be in position where we have to pass on a better prospect at another position because we are desperate for a WR.
