Not enough of these stories are shared. This one is beautiful. Must be cutting onions or something around me...idk but I love this story! Not sure how this is going to paste but you can follow the tweets and IG story to see pictures and an interview with the family but kudos to Anthony Harris, he's got a new fan. Last year, 11-year-old Audrey Soape unexpectedly lost both her father and grandfather. It's been a hard time for the Texas middle schooler, to say the least. So, with her school's "Daddy-Daughter Dance" on the horizon, her mother Holly decided to do something special. She reached out to Audrey's favorite football player, Eagles safety Anthony Harris, on social media. "It's kind of far-fetched...it's a big ask," Holly told ABC News. "I just asked if he would come—if he'd be willing to come. And he said, 'not only will I come, I want to make sure she feels like a princess.'" Harris not only flew in to Austin for the dance, he also covered the cost of Audrey's dress, shoes, hair, and makeup. "He had a car with a driver, come to the house and pick her up," Holly told ABC News. "He really wanted to make sure she had the best possible time." Harris, who originally hails from Richmond, Virginia, told WCAU that he was "just trying to be a human." "You gotta cherish these moments. You never know how long we have here on this Earth," he added. "So, the people that you care about, and you love, show support for them." In an appearance on Fox & Friends, Holly expressed gratitude for Harris' incredible act of kindness. "I was so anxious and excited for her because she just had the most terrible year," the mom-of-two said. "For someone to show up and to teach her that people do show up for you, it's just been beyond a blessing. Just the power of God and how he makes these situations happen has just been unbelievable and remarkable."15 points

Perhaps, but a Parasite we can all utilize. Direct TV is not available to many of us (in my case because of trees), and they restrict their online version too. At least with Disney, they'll happily just take my money and not deny me. Why would they be any worse than Direct TV?11 points

not worth it. how many actual fans of the teams are there? rather hang out with actual fans, can spend that money more wisely on a party at home or at a bar10 points

It's truly sad. And with the Schmooze retiring, the last vestiges of what made the station special are now gone. That said, sports media is pretty similar to what's happened to all media. You can stay in a team-specific zone of blogs, commentators, etc. for your team and never have to deal with the commentary of the broader leagues if you don't want to. But dollar for dollar, Rich Eisen is probably the best commentator out there today and it certainly helps that he's a Jets fan.10 points

I finally got rid of DirecTV this past summer right before season started... I had DTV for about 13-14 years and only kept it for Sunday Ticket. so I paid around 1,800 a year in DTV bills to have the privilege and ability to spend another 400 for Sunday ticket. there were a few years they would reduce price of Sunday ticket and a couple years just gave it to me for free. but I finally said f*it... dropped DTV and I would happily pay ESPN a similar Sunday ticket fee in the $200-500 range for all the games to be able to watch the JETS and some other games instead. @Patriot Killa its well overdue and should have happened years ago.10 points

Not sure if anyone still listens to it. The only time I ever turn it on is for short trips in the car when running errands. But even for that short amount of time I can't bare to listen, it's so awful. Probably 75% of the time I tune in they're not even talking about sports. This morning, I heard Gio talk to Boomer about shotgunning chili. I immediately turned the radio off. Almost every time I turn on Carton/Roberts it's even worse. Who in the world listens to this crap? And if people aren't listening, what is management doing? I used to really enjoy the station. Now it's a disaster.9 points

Antonio Brown was on a Hall Of Fame pace, playing all over the field, and he is only, roughly, listed as 5 lbs heavier than Moore, at the same height. Elijah will be just fine, especially in this scheme, operating in similar fashion.8 points

You would have a fit? Seriously? I’m totally on board for Thibs or hutch being our first pick if they’re available. But if not, what else are you picking? A freaking safety? Did you guys not learn anything (Jamal adams)? A constantly injured CB, did you guys not learn anything (dee milliner)? The correct and only answer is keep pouring assets into aiding Zach so he can prove, without a shadow of doubt, that he’s the man or he’s a bust by end of next year (or early 2023). That’s the ONLY THING that matters for this damn team. We haven’t had winning QB play and a respectable offense in generations. And yet, people still drafting safeties. It hurts my brain.8 points

Francesa was the best, ever since he retired the station is unlistenable now. Say what you want about big Mike and his takes but at least you knew he was going to be talking about sports!8 points

I hate that we may spend both firsts on OT and WR, 2 positions I would have considered solidified in August. That being said, I am 100% behind Ekwonu at 4 if the board falls like this. Guy is going to be a mauler at G in the NFL with the flexibility to have more patience with Becton's 5th year option and Fants impending contract after next season.8 points

Honestly, I might have a fit if we take an OL with number 4 unless we do a lot in FA to address the pass rush and run defense. https://www.fantasypros.com/2022/02/kyle-yates-mock-2022-nfl-draft-2-0/7 points

Bright kid, really seems like he's bought in, is totally focused on football and guys who want to be all in on football. I like him even more now. Said he talks to Moore and Zach a lot. Said Zach's a good guy, he's a great athlete and an incredible basketball player. Says he easily dunks and when Bart asked him whether it was a regulation rim he said 'oh yea, 10 foot rim'. They pushed him repeatedly about the draft capital or possible trades and he was having none of it. Tight lipped, not in his lane and does not want to incur the rath of JD. Also, has literally no idea--players don't think about who may be on the horizon. A total fluff interview but he appears to be a pretty well adjusted guy. Also said nothing ever comes good out of Las Vegas lol. Did not mention Bechton being a big fat lazy slob or that Bellichick being a scumbag. To be fair, he was not asked.7 points

I think Berrios is the priority. Great returner that could be evolving into really good slot guy. And I know many here think that because Elijah Moore is short that he is therefore our default slot guy and we can't have both Berrios and Moore on the field at the same time. Simply not true. Moore is an emerging #1 WR who can play in the slot, but is also really good outside thanks to his speed/route running. https://jetsxfactor.com/2021/11/23/elijah-moore-outside-wr-slot/ The Jets and their fans marveled at Moore’s brilliance in Week 11 as he caught eight passes for 141 yards and a touchdown against Miami’s expensive secondary. Take a look at the distribution of his production in that performance: Slot: 9 routes run, 1 catch, 1 target, 5 yards, 0 first downs Outside: 26 routes run, 7 catches, 10 targets, 136 yards, 1 touchdown, 4 first downs Just about all of Moore’s damage was done from the outside. This continues the trend that had been developing over the first three games of Moore’s explosion. Here is a look at the distribution of Moore’s production from Weeks 8-11: Slot: 29 routes run, 7 targets, 6 catches, 39 yards, 1 touchdown, 1 first down Outside: 86 routes run, 23 targets, 18 catches, 297 yards, 3 touchdowns, 10 first downs And here is a comparison of Moore’s efficiency over that span: Slot (25.2% of routes): 5.6 yards per target, 1.34 yards per route run, TD/1stD on 28.6% of targets, TD/1stD on 6.9% of routes Outside (74.8% of routes): 12.9 yards per target, 3.45 yards per route run, TD/1stD on 56.5% of targets, TD/1stD on 15.1% of routes7 points

I really hope they resign Foley even though I think I’m in the minority. He’ll be much better value for money than Q will be.7 points

For decades, in the car or otherwise, WFAN and Howard comprised about 90% of my radio listening. Literally, other than if someone here posted that Francesa was going off on somebody/thing, I have not tuned in WFAN in at least five years. Looking at the current lineup of "talent" makes one wistful for college radio.7 points

Holy hell if this team drafts another OT that high, what a mess the choice to take Becton was. We make the pick, then sign Fant who becomes one of the best pass blockers at left tackle you can hope for. We sign Moses who was beyond serviceable. After that if we draft an O lineman that high that is a strong indicator Joe knows Becton will never be that guy. He needs to extend Fant and overpay Moses instead. Hate picking another O lineman that high. O really started gelling before injury bug hit.7 points

I agree re: the once in a lifetime opportunity. I think my fear, spending that much, is that for the rest of my life, I'll never be able to tell my wife not to buy something I think is ridiculous. "Yeah, well you spent 10K on the Super Bowl." It kind of undermines my current, "You're not getting a $1,200 a month lease on a Range Rover" position.6 points

I'd probably go $7 - 8K. I've been terribly obsessed with the team ever since I was a little kid. I've always said I'd be there if they ever make it. I want that memory. EDIT: And I DESERVE that memory.6 points

In this day and age, NFL Ticket really needs to move to streaming only - regardless of the provider. The idea of needing a satellite AND requiring regular channel subscription is a horrible business model.6 points

29th ranked defense vs the run, yay! lets give big dollars to the run stuffer! The dline sucked this year and constantly let plays get to our weak linebackers. Fatusaki could have been in for a MAJOR pay day this year but he was an underachiever like many others. Is he worth resigning? Yes he is but he is a disappointing player that i previously liked a lot.5 points

I get that good news "doesn't sell", but I still think we need a 24/7 "Good News Channel" for stories like these, similar to the 9 episodes John Krasinski put together during 2020: We need more stories like these and good guys like Anthony Harris.5 points

We're going to have to re-evaluate what we think big money is soon. The cap is up high this year and i have heard whispers its going to take another massive jump. What we think is big money now may look small in a year or two.5 points
