  6. Not enough of these stories are shared. This one is beautiful. Must be cutting onions or something around me...idk but I love this story! Not sure how this is going to paste but you can follow the tweets and IG story to see pictures and an interview with the family but kudos to Anthony Harris, he's got a new fan. Last year, 11-year-old Audrey Soape unexpectedly lost both her father and grandfather. It's been a hard time for the Texas middle schooler, to say the least. So, with her school's "Daddy-Daughter Dance" on the horizon, her mother Holly decided to do something special. She reached out to Audrey's favorite football player, Eagles safety Anthony Harris, on social media. "It's kind of far-fetched...it's a big ask," Holly told ABC News. "I just asked if he would come—if he'd be willing to come. And he said, 'not only will I come, I want to make sure she feels like a princess.'" Harris not only flew in to Austin for the dance, he also covered the cost of Audrey's dress, shoes, hair, and makeup. "He had a car with a driver, come to the house and pick her up," Holly told ABC News. "He really wanted to make sure she had the best possible time." Harris, who originally hails from Richmond, Virginia, told WCAU that he was "just trying to be a human." "You gotta cherish these moments. You never know how long we have here on this Earth," he added. "So, the people that you care about, and you love, show support for them." In an appearance on Fox & Friends, Holly expressed gratitude for Harris' incredible act of kindness. "I was so anxious and excited for her because she just had the most terrible year," the mom-of-two said. "For someone to show up and to teach her that people do show up for you, it's just been beyond a blessing. Just the power of God and how he makes these situations happen has just been unbelievable and remarkable."

  7. He always comes off as a great person, but I never knew he’s story. My God what a tough childhood. It’s amazing that his mother and Curtis were able to forgive his Curtis’ father. Sometimes forgiveness is not about the person you’re forgiving but about allowing yourself to move forward without bitterness and anger.

  20. For me, if the AFC Championship game were at home, that would be much better than being at the Superbowl. The crowd noise and sitting next to the people you suffered with all these years would be the ultimate. If I won the ticket lottery through the team, I would go, but not paying $10,000 for them. How would you feel if you paid that and the Jets lose on a field goal with no time left on the clock? No thanks!

  21. This is where I am at. Not about the season tix, but after going to the back to back AFCCG's in Indy and Pitt, I promised my son that if the Jets get to a SB in my lifetime, we are going. Since 2010, I have been putting a few bucks away each week for tickets. I now have about $15K sitting in an envelope in the safe deposti box. My Super Bowl fund. I will probably end up leaving those funds to my son in my will and the only way I get to a Jets SB is if he takes my ashes. But as of now, I am a lot closer to the SB than the Jets are.

  27. Same. This hit all types of emotions. The situation he was in as a 4, 5 and 6 year old is infuriating. It’s amazing that he got through all of that with his head on straight.

  28. That's probably a major factor in their thinking. Jets can save $5.5M against the cap by cutting Rankins, which would cover a lot of Foley's potential cap number for next season.

  32. I agree re: the once in a lifetime opportunity. I think my fear, spending that much, is that for the rest of my life, I'll never be able to tell my wife not to buy something I think is ridiculous. "Yeah, well you spent 10K on the Super Bowl." It kind of undermines my current, "You're not getting a $1,200 a month lease on a Range Rover" position.

  39. I believe he is on ESPN Radio nationally in the am, isn't he? I'll be honest, once Mike and Mike stopped being a thing, I no longer listen to ESPN radio anymore. Way too much yelling and old unhip dudes don't seem to be the target demographic anymore. I listen to the Sports Junkies, a DC area group sorta famous in this market. Just means I hear alot more Commanders/Nationals/Capitals/Wizards talk now, and far less national coverage. Which is fine really, not like ESPN radio was flogging Jets talk very often anyway.

  43. Duuuude, I just saw his presser, holy hell! How does someone listen to this guy for 5 seconds and think he’s going to lead a group of football players into battle. This is my prime example of how this fad of hiring genius offensive minds is leading to disaster at HC. These are nerds who can figure out extremely detailed plays, but being a HC requires you to be relatable as a human being and to be the whip when needed. This guy, just like Gase for example, is just awkward and has zero ability to be a HC. Thank God the Dolphins hired him! Sent from my iPhone using JetNation.com mobile app

  44. I need to nominate this thread as the second dumbest only behind the other Berrios thread. First of all, who in the fuucck made everyone an expert on salary limits for a player? And salary limits on whether he is a #3 or #4 receiver? Second, do any of you actually realize how contracts even work? Even if we paid Berrios $9 million per, its not like he gets a flat $9 million a year. There are signing bonuses, roster bonuses, guarantees for skill and injury, likely to be earned (LTBE) incentives, N(ot)LTBE incentives which actually don't count against the cap and even workout bonuses for many players to get them into the offseason program. If we paid Berrios say 3 years $27 million with $15 million guaranteed, the cap hit in year one would be far less than $9 million and as the contract goes on the percentage of cap that goes to Berrios gets smaller against the cap even as the payouts and base increase Speaking of cap hit, third, $9 million is 4.3% of our cap for 2023, so even if we paid him just a flat $9 million it has very little impact at all if any on any other moves. Do people really think that Berrios and all he does is not worth 1/25 of our cap? Fourth, I will never in my life understand why Jets fans want to kick players to the curb that we developed them for contracts they view as "unreasonable" or above some BS arbitrary limit they came up with on their couch, but in the next breadth say we should pay some free agent whatever he wants to come here? Just bizzare Fifth, why does anyone care what we pay our players? All we should care about is that we have as many players on our team that can make meaningful contributions and if you don't think Berrios makes very meaningful contributions to this team you are just being willfully obtuse.

  45. Can someone who really understands this stuff let me know how Christian Watson isn't being talked about more? He is 6'4 - 211 lbs (senior bowl measurements) He apparently hit 23 mph on a GPS tracker multiple times in game and is reportedly going to run ~4.4 or less Apparently a great blocker (just going off some scouting reports/twitter comments so not positive here) Did really well at the senior bowl (named top WR as voted by opposing CBs) And yes he played at NDSU and faced lesser competition - but look at the youtube of his highlights he is DESTROYING dudes on there. Versatile - he was used out of the backfield on end around - looks really smooth after the catch. I keep seeing stuff saying he is a day three guy - everything I just listed screams round 1 guy - but I'd be ecstatic taking him in round three and wouldn't be shocked if he ends up going higher than that. Thoughts on him?
