  2. Since I nailed the first two days, here is day three. You are welcome for me single-handedly turning this franchise around.

  3. I challenge you to find me a more perfect draft class, and I’ve followed this team for close to half a century. Douglas will be questioned no more without a swift e-kick to the ballsack by yours truly.

  4. One of my favorite draft classes ever for the Jets, I guess the trick was for me to stop paying so much attention.

  5. How about we quit while we’re ahead before Joe Douglas demands $30 million a year? Gardner, Wilson, Johnson, Hall and Ruckert? I couldn’t have even pulled this sh*t off in one of those silly ass mock simulators. Let’s quit while we’re ahead, mmkay?

  6. Rather than having to value every single draft pick, because they needed to just get bodies, they were able to use this draft to target the exact players they want as Jets. When you start with zero, as Douglas did on this job, you have little wiggle room to but to fill holes with anything. That changed this year. It actually is a process.

  7. Congrats to the Ruckert family. It’s very cool that the guy is from Long Island, actually wanted to be a Jet, and the Jets obliged him. That’s the good stuff.

  11. I agree. Its over. Post UK Woody, Douglas and Saleh are all made men moving forward. Its time we appreciate them and send them nothing but love. That goes for on this board, on twitter etc. Its time for Jet fans to back our leadership because they are building us a Super Bowl Champion.

  12. Lol, I think you just enjoy being miserable. This was the last position where the Jets could draft an impact player who will either start or be a major rotational piece from day one. This league is all about offense, and the man brought in new a #1 WR and RB. It’s an exciting pick because it’s a good one. Breece Hall helps this team immediately.

  13. When they made the trade to move up 2 spots, I thought it was an over aggressive move with Walker also being available. Both have great speed, both are bellcow type RB's but after reading more about both, it just seems Hall is a better fit. Walker is mauling type back who excels at running between tackles and breaking tackles and I love that kind of RB where Hall, even though had not been a rugged type, is a threat pass catcher and doesn't have the knock on him as a pass protector that Walker has. In this O, I think that is big and made Walker a sqaure peg we would have been trying to fit into a round hole. We would be hoping Walker develops into a pass protector and pass catcher (only caught 18 passes in college). Hall to me seems like a ready fit who can do what we want out of the RB position on day one. It would have been nice to have a bruising type runner since Carter isn't built for that but at least when Hall is in there, the D won't be sure if it's a run or pass. Credit to JD for being aggressive and getting a player that already fits.

  14. Woody gets more involved in the draft, and we go off. Never leave us for jolly old England again, Woodrow. Your place is here. Running our drafts.

  17. Guys Ruckert is one of us, he's suffered like us. Kid bleeds gang green and I can't think of a cooler thing than a talented player with roots in a team he's playing for. Will be rooting for the kid for sure!

  21. If there was any doubt as to Becton's future, that was put to rest the past two days. If Becton were a question mark, the Jets would have used a day 1 or day 2 pick on the numerous LTs available in this draft. The Jets picks pretty clearly indicate that all the hand wringing about and criticism of Becton on this board the past 9 months was unnecessary. Fant and Becton will be the starting tackles. The Jets would not add a CB to a deep CB room and a WR (or try to trade multiple picks for a vet), and a RB, and a TE (with two TEs added in free agency) , and trade extra picks to move up twice only to leave a large gaping hole at LT or RT. It is clear the Jets are putting Wilson in a position to take a huge leap and succeed and are emphasizing offense. There is no way JD would jeopardize that with a big question mark at OT. The draft and free agency clearly signal Becton will be back and will be starting.

  22. I suspect the Jets never had nearly as much of an issue with Becton as the narrative here would suggest. The click-hungry journalists and some of the posters here had to find somewhere to turn their hate-lasers once Jamal and Sam were gone, and Becton and JD became the next targets to paint, with Mims and Quinnen drawing some fire as well. Well JD has now put on a suit of reflective armor and is completely impervious so Becton is going to continue to draw fire until training camp starts. It's kind of a sad viscous cycle. Random Twitter feed wants clicks. Pick a player to bash. Random people who love nothing more than to find something to drum up a baseless theory on so they can be first then repost it ad nauseum. Then they start beating the drum to trade said player for a late pick so they can 'be right'. Meanwhile, there is absolutely no evidence to support any of it. If we still are taking guys like Cimini/Florio/Pauline/Hughes as fact-based gospel, we deserve it. And I feel it makes this place less pleasant. Honestly, it's fine to post opinions that are negative. Certainly well-deserved in many cases. And there have been plenty of well-presented arguments about why things the team has done are stupid. All good. But attacking a player based on nothing but internet rumors without acknowledging that there may be context or information you don't have? Without even acknowledging that it's an opinion and that you just might be mistaken? That's the worst part of this place.

  28. JD's draft is looking like one of those unrealistic mocks drafts that you achieve on the simulators. Then you bring it back to the board and everyone tells you how unrealistic your mock is.

  29. I think we’ve all made a lot of assumptions about what might or might not be in JD’s DNA, based largely on his first draft which was really all about adding as many players as he could to fill needs at virtually every position on the team. Last two drafts have seen him target players and trade up to get them. I suspect this is very much in his DNA. He goes where he perceives value, whether it’s up or down.

  30. They’re rookies. They did a great job drafting but they’re not making the playoff next year. Give it a few year before this kicks in. I’d be happy with .500 or over.

  31. 1. Hall 2. Wilson 3. Johnson 4. Hall I have to be honest, this is ridiculous. This is an absolute grand slam! JD deserves all the ******* credit in the world. I am a huge Zach Wilson fan but I’m not listening to any excuses this year. The offensive line improved with Tomlinson. We added two pretty good, big bodied tight ends. We added the best RB in college. We added arguably the best receiver in the draft. He needs to be ready and I think he will! Enjoy this Jets fans. This is awesome.

  32. This is going to be a smash mouth power football team with a two headed RB tandem. It's the perfect setup to take the pressure off Zach and allow him to develop without having to carry the team. Play action should be pretty fun!

  35. It is kinda crazy considering he somehow drafted the highest or second highest rated player at all four positions. All four positions of needs, three of them key. Yet, getting the best running back in draft in the second round? Icing on cake! Thank you Joe Douglas, thank you.
