What does arguing with people on the internet all day do to the old blood pressure?13 points

Quinnen Williams has like the 56th snap rate in the league. We're looking for defensive line depth. How can these two things both be true at once? We have like 37 rotating defensive linemen12 points

Zach could seriously exercise those demons by finishing a qb scramble towards the p*ts sideline, lowering a shoulder and taking the old cheating scumbag out somewhere late in the second quarter. I mean like bring-the-cart-out-to-wheel-him-off type hit. Just level the old evil ****er. It would be like his Luke Skywalker vs. Palpatine moment. Let little Stevie finish the game on the sidelines...8 points

The situation with Fields is no different than Wilson and any other young QB. Everyone wants instant gratification, instant results, fantasy numbers, and if they don't deliver, they are a bust and the team should move on after an absurd short amount of time. Players and especially QB's need time to develop, they need reps, they need to learn from mistakes, if patience and time is given, many can figure it out, and develop into good QB's. But in the age of fantasy sports, if they don't deliver within 1 year they are a bust, it's ridiculous!7 points

Did anyone else notice how well Sherwood filled in for Mosely? He was only in for a few series but had 3 solo's, 1 assist, and .5 sack.7 points

How fun would it be if the Jets could win the division by beating Miami in the last week of the season5 points
-
The Jets - and quarter of the league - tried to claim DL Jerry Tillery, former 1st round pick of the Chargers, who was waived this week. I suspect this means that Rankins will be out for a while (probably headed to IR) and the Jets are concerned about interior DL depth. Might see JD revisiting his Linval Joseph interest, or bringing in another veteran depth piece, within the next day or so.4 points

I'm a Jets fan because I love NFL football. Fields is great for NFL football. I would have loved it if the Jets drafted him. I'm not having buyers remorse. I don't get tearing him down. He's been great for the game. A lot of the "elite" NFL QB are on their last legs. The league needs new blood. It's all good.4 points

Robert Saleh spoke to the media on Monday and was asked what his message to his team upon their return. Practice was good. It was well-needed. Just going through and communicating and doing football stuff, but knock on wood, we’re as healthy as you could possibly be at this point. I felt like the guys attacked the day as we needed to. Injury Updates Corey, we’ll continue to go day-to-day. He worked real hard. He didn’t go anywhere. He stayed here the entire week, so he’s been working hard. We’ll see how it goes throughout the week. Plan on opening up Max Mitchell’s practice window. George Fant will not practice this week. Sheldon Rankins, he’ll be out. Elijah Moore Status Without giving up too much from a schematic standpoint, Elijah’s a special football player and we’re going to continue to find ways to get him going. It’s not as easy as, ‘Alright, let’s just start throwing him the football and throw him into a certain spot.’ Our offense is very multiple, the advantage of our offense is that we can take receivers and move them anywhere we need to. But at the same time, Elijah is a good football player and we’re continuing to try to find ways to best utilize his skill set to get him the football. When it comes to Elijah it will be interesting to see if wide receiver coach Miles Austin can help get the young player going in the right direction again. Zach wasn't taken at 2 because he was NFL ready. He was taken at 2 because they love his QB skills, he's demeanor and they felt they could develop him into an elite NFL QB. Your timetable is irrelevant. I think the coaching staff and Douglas are absolutely thrilled that Zach is managing the games and the team is winning while showing flashes. I don't think they ever thought this was a 1 or 2 year project. Fan expectations have little to do with developing a quality QB. Granted if the team sucks the pressure on management might well force their hand. That's being put to bed by actual signs of competence. Sorry you're expectations are simply unrealistic drivel. The team isn't abandoned Zach unless he completely sh*ts the bed and he's not doing that.4 points

The reason you can’t challenge under 2 mins is because they want everything to be reviewed even if you are out of challenges. Not reviewing that catch was outrageous4 points

He's 100% right. Very silly simplistic narrow minded view. Not considering attempts, not considering weapons, not considering that it actually doesnt matter at all how you gain yards. What is more important is scoring TD's and the garbage Bears, lead the league in scoring. Oh and your cute little list, he's thrown more TD's passes than those guys on less attempts. Efficiency matters. Fun fact here, Zach Wilson has 13 TD passes in his entire career, Fields has 12 this year. The hate on this board is out of control ridiculous. Holy sh*t.4 points

Low scoring. No way Mac-led-Pats run away with this one. Saleh's D is just to complete. Probably grab 2 ints when Mac panics and gets careless. this should be a 17-14 Jets type game. But listen, if Zack/LeFleur get on a roll, this game could get ugly. Like 38-17 Jets.4 points

Wilson is the Jets’ QB.He will show how much more he’s improved over the rest of this season at a minimum. Hopefully by the end of this season he makes that assessment ridiculously easy, one way or the other. If he’s looking like a FQB, no problem. If he’s looking like garbage, they’ll bring in some veteran they’re comfortable (or comfortable enough) starting the season; Wilson will then have to win the job or be the QB2 next year. Right now we’re 6-3. Miami has a bye so with a win next week we’d be tied for 1st in a killer division with as many as 3 teams at 7-3 - neither of whom has played like a paper tiger this season - and the “cellar” team at 5-5. Further, the 7-3 record would notably be with a 6-1 record with their young QB. In that instance I’m not going to play the conveniently unprovable game of “yeah well we’d still have won every game we won with Wilson, plus one more,” when in practice there’s every likelihood the record would’ve been either no better or worse (including the first 3 starts from Flacco). I don’t know when this opportunity will come around next. I’m choosing to enjoy this time around. If Wilson does visibly blow the season, the team won’t be blind to what everyone else can see.4 points

Hes right. He also believes that any and every play or call should be eligible for review. I heard him speak on the issue many years ago in an interview and he was 100% correct in his views on replay. NFL needs to stop the bullcrap and lift the restrictions on types of plays/calls/no calls eligible for review. And hes damned right a coach should get to call for a review in the final 2.4 points

As a rookie he was the greenest, most out of place player I think I’ve seen in 25 years. Didn’t belong on an NFL field. Yes, he was making a position change, but he was so bad you might have thought he was changing from shortstop to linebacker. what an improvement. Score 1 for Saleh and JD. The investment year paid off. he still struggles to get off of blocks but he reads the play so much faster his athletic abilities are coming through4 points

It's nothing short of a miracle what JD has accomplished with the o-line depth. In years past the season would have been over a long time ago with all the o-line injuries we've suffered. This year we're pressing for a playoff berth. It's amazing. Anyone who wishes for JD to be fired can't be rooting for the Jets.4 points

The Jets were clearly the better Football team than the Patriots in the first meeting. I expect them to exercise the demon quite convincingly. I'm not calling for a blow out, they're not that type of team but I think the Jets will take care of business, take a lead into the 4th quarter and do what they do, own the 4th and pull away. 27-16 Jets3 points
