The talent on this team is really special right now. Just exciting to think about how much fun it's going to be, to be a Jet fan the next few years!!!!!!

I think the general feeling is that this team is ahead of schedule and that we should lower expectations this year. Tbh, I kind of feel that way myself. But when I look at it a little more closely, I see something a little different. I think most people agree the defense is championship caliber and the ST is solid enough. So that really only leaves the offense in question. QB: This has been discussed plenty on here. We're still seeing what MW is but the early signs look good. ZW has potential though it feels like he's lost right now. RB: Despite losing Breece Lightning, we've seen the emergence of Bam Knight. MC is talented too and Ty Johnson isn't bad. James Robinson can add something too if he gets healthy WR: GW is a star and getting better each week. Eli Moore has under-performed but has potential. Corey Davis runs hot-and-cold but has ability. Mimsy has ability too. TE: Conklin has been up-and-down (though down lately). Uzomah is a decent player (with a great attitude). I still think Ruckert can be an ace-in-the-hole kind of guy if given the chance. Let's see OL: We've been decimated with injuries in this unit but we still have Duane Brown, Laken Tomlinson, Connor McGovern, Nate Herbig and George Fant. (And LDT as a backup). That should be good enough. OC: MiLF has not been great but I remember I was also really down on Ulbrich at one point too. Now things are the reverse. So let's not give up on MiLF just yet. VERDICT: Overall, I don't see why this offense can't be good enough to get the job done. While we're far from perfect, we're NOT badly lacking in any area. We're a defensive team first but there's no reason the offense can't be competent. Imo, it can be better than just "competent" as long as MW continues what he's been doing so far. And when you look at things that way, there's no reason why this team can't go on a deep postseason run.

Book it. Statement game from the New York Jets. Defense steps up, Mike White delivers a solid game solidifying his role as QB1. Josh Allen throws another couple picks. NO ONE is picking the Jets to win this game, just like we like it. The Jets are winning Sunday boys.....strap on in for the ride.

The problem with this is you don't know what will happen next year. Yes the team is ahead of schedule, but we don't know what injuries will occur, rookie regression (sophomore jinx), QB situation may still not be resolved, etc. I never look ahead for these reasons and just stay focused on current season

Lets say Mike White does well enough to get this team to play offs and maybe wins a game. Zach demands a trade. Jets get a "highish" first rounder. (Why? Because he may still have more value to teams vs. the QB's coming out this year) Do you draft a QB high/ trade up for another QB? - We can still roll with White and develop someone.

Sam Darnold was a better QB than Zach Wilson and had less to work with. Is there some reason you think Zach would be considered more valuable than Darnold?

Based on what I heard we’d have to wait til after June to trade him to avoid a monumental amount of dead cap. After that though, maybe you get a 2nd if a team really believes he can be the guy and they know how to fix him. Other than that maybe a 3rd+. Jets have no reason to rush a Zach move unless having him in the locker room is a liability. I think they end up holding onto him for another season no matter how things play out.

“Integrity of the game” LOL The refs call whatever the freak they feel like calling whenever they feel like it. When was the last time a Jet QB benefited from a “Brady rule” or illegal hit to the head or roughing the passer or late hit call? Maxx Crosby was being freaking held on every single play of the game on TNF. Refs kept flags in their pockets during the final drive though. Better TV, better story, better ending for big-market LA and Mayfield. An NFL game on TV these days consists of about 1000 ads trying to get you to bet on games in one form or another. There’s got be at least one Tim Donaghy actively messing around in the league. He just hasn’t been caught or outed yet. Brady gets every freaking call conceivable and on the rare occasions the flag hasn’t been thrown, all he has to do is throw his arms up in the air and the sycophantic zebras like Jerome Boger eagerly oblige.

Add a great QB and with these two, you just need to keep replenishing the O line and having solid contributors around them to have a great O for the next 8 years. Also, Breece is looking pretty good since his surgery last month. The kids a beast and I think he's the type of guy who will make the most of his time off the field. He will undoubtedly be in the best shape of his life when he returns.

At least the team is set at RB next season.

Say what you want the fact that MFW got rid of the ball about a full second before Zach ever did had a lot more to do with the OL looking competent than the amout of time they played together.

To me what Baker did Thursday night was amazing. Barely on the Rams 24 hours and pulls out an amazing comeback to win.

I have to ask are you a Jets fan or a Zach Wilson fan ? Because every time I post something about Mike White you neg rep the post . You either root for the team that's out there or go find another team to ******* root for. Its sad Zach didn't work out or probably will not work out but learn to be a grown up about it.

@T0mShane If they traded him in March (i.e. before his next roster bonus payment) then the ‘24 hit (from his original signing bonus) would accelerate to ‘23. On the other hand, $0 would hit in ‘24, so it’s 6 in 1 and half a dozen in the other. They could just restructure someone else instead (have $5.7MM of someone else’s hit get moved to ‘24+ instead of ‘23). Total is the same in the end. Some have trouble with that because it disrupts the senses to see that line item on screen, but it’s the same dollars getting allocated to the same player(s), where the only difference is how much has one or another’s name attached this year vs next. A dollar paid is a dollar that must hit, though. Therefore if he’s traded they’d want it to be before that payment is made (unless, like with Leo, that’s part of the deal, and the team is in-effect buying a higher draft pick with cash/cap space).

This is true, I think. Simply as a prospect, you’d rather have Zach Wilson instead of Stroud or Levis, and it’d be tight with Bryce Young because of his size. As bad as Zach has been, he’s shown a lot of tools and put some stuff on tape that didn’t reflect hopelessness. Some team would convince themselves that Zach, playing in the Shanahan offense in the NYC market, was just a bad mix and he’d be better somewhere else. That said, only two teams will be in position to have less than zero at the QB spot and have a first round draft pick they might part with—The Texans and the Bucs. The Texans have the first overall and the Browns pick (currently 13th, but should drop a little) and the Bucs are at 19. This presumes Brady walks to retire or play for the Niners/Raiders, etc. If the Jets can move Zach for one of those, they should absolutely, 100% do so. They cannot go into 2023 with both Zach and Mike White on the roster, and unless White plays himself off the field, he’s coming back. As to what to do with picks ~18 and ~25? I’d draft an OT or TE with the first pick and desperately try to trade the other for a 2024 first, which will presumably have better QB prospects in it. They can roll with White in 23 and, if need be, draft a better QB in 24.
