  2. I've missed you crazy sumbitches! I've set out to check in here a few times but life has been rather busy. Had a kid ...he's absolutely the greatest. Life is good.

  3. Maybe it’s just my wishful thinking but there sure seems to be a ground swell of Rodgers talk specifically tied to the Jets.

  4. He sent a picture of his dick to some intern in the building *gasp* Wasn’t just the Arizona game, we also beat Brady and the Pats in Foxboro when they were at the height of their dynasty after we had been repeatedly sh*tstomped by them throughout the previous 5 years. We beat the Titans when they were considered the best team in the league, etc. Not saying Favre is some saint, but he’s a legitimate HOF QB and it was pretty sweet to see him doing Favre sh*t in a Jets uniform, for however briefly it lasted.

  5. I think that for the people that have just seen Sauce on TV it is obvious that he is a great player but will never really understand how ridiculously good he is until you see him in person. Take this play It looks like a solid pass deflection. However on this play seeing it live in Green Bay, it was an entirely different thing. At the start of this play Sauce is 10 yards deep in off coverage. Dobbs rubs straight at Sauce who is backpedelling and does a comeback route in front of Saunce. The instant that Dobbs starts his turn Sauce flips his hips and from still 5-6 yards away closes so fast he is able to make what looks like on TV to be a tight coverage PBU. It was maybe the most athletic play I have seen on a football field. Literally every other corner in the NFL gives up a completion and first down on that play from off coverage. Sauce is the best CB in football as a rookie, a position that is considered by many to be the hardest (outside of QB) to learn in the NFL. He gave up one touchdown and that was on a miscommunication. And then with our second pick we choose a receiver that is Top 15 in the NFL as a rookie with the worst OC in football and not even a mediocre QB. What a draft.

  6. If we sign him, I’m definitely going on one of those ayahuasca retreats before the season starts. Get my head right.

  7. I haven’t heard Zach say sh*t since the end of the season. What is this pill popper talking about?

  8. He slots in after Aaron Donald and ahead of everyone else because of his age and level of play. The question is what is the number because there is a lot of real estate between Donald and the next highest paid DT. I think Q will come in around $25 million average per year with total guaranteed around $60 million.

  9. Key difference between the two is their coaching style and focus. Johnson has a background working with QBs and has experience developing QBs, running an offense, and calling plays albeit at the collegian level. He also is extremely well versed in the RPO offense and how to implement it into a more pro-style offense. He's more of a hands-on type with the QBs that will be the QBs crutch and put a heavy emphasis on their fundamental work while asking other coaches to do some more heavy lifting in other areas (i.e. game plan, scouting, etc.). Patullo's more experienced at the NFL level having coached under a variety of different offensive minds. I think Patullo is kind of how the Jets view Rob Calabrese right now: he's not necessarily a positional coach in the sense that he'll invest all his time and energy in improving the players he has, rather, is a bright mind who has a good understanding of playbook/play design, scheme, strategy, and game plan. He's closer to what Mike LaFleur was for us, but would be a lot more flexible in terms of what our scheme looks like and how we implement our players into it. The allure to get Hackett on the staff isn't just experience or his ability as a play caller, rather, is more about bringing in someone who is the "anti-Mike LaFleur"... someone who emphasizes building relationships with the players, bringing a level of energy and enthusiasm in practice and meetings, someone who is empathetic with QBs and willing to provide that hands-on support to the QBs, while also being able to contribute with game planning, scheme, and concept. This is why I figured he was someone they're more keyed in on in a senior-level position who can help support the OC/playcaller, rather than taking it all on himself.

  11. We recently bonded over our shared belief that Zach Wilson sucks and also being highly-talented 6’2” sociopaths that people generally dislike.

  12. You can argue the best QB play we've seen in the past 25 years came from past their prime retreads - pre injury Favre in 2006, and Vinny in 1998. Fitz in 2015 was also good up until Buffalo.

  13. I’m may get flack for this, but Aaron is absolutely in that conversation for me. It’s similar to how a lot of older people I spoke to about football growing up used to tell me that Dan Marino will always be the greatest QB they ever watched, despite the lack of a ring/rings...except Aaron does currently have one, along with a Super Bowl MVP. Rodgers is, by far, the most gifted passer I have ever watched, is someone I emulated when I played the position, and I would absolutely love to have him QB the Jets.

  15. If we get Lamar, Rodgers or Carr, all you posters calling for free agents all over this message board can just give that up right now. Not only can you give it up with FA's but you can also get ready to say goodbye to our Number 1 draft picks the next 2 years as well. Carr can be doable while keeping our first rounders but high end FA's are out of the question. The only way we can continue to build this team is to work a deal with Mike White and Ill explain. We need a big possession WR that's going to cost money. You are not getting this with Rodgers/Carr/Lamar We need at least one more good to great player on the OL Once again this does not happen with Rodgers/Carr/Lamar I see people want that last piece for the Defense FS the kid from The Eagles.... Johnson ... Not happening with any of those 3 QB's With MW at QB a guy who the team loves and has proven he's capable and the game is not too much for him and you can at the very least do 2 of the three above. Plus keep all your draft picks. If you guys think going into the playoffs vs teams like the Bengals and the Chiefs and the Bills with one of those QB's makes it a given while your team has weaknesses at essential positions you're dreaming. If we keep White, Sign a big target at WR, Dump Corey Davis grab a FA OL and grab Johnson from Philly along with having our first round draft picks we will be a better over all team for it. White Played good without AVT or Breece with these players back White will be able to get the ball out quick like he likes too and this team will be explosive once again. Its not all about making that big QB splash when you already have a QB that can move this offense and play with what would be the number one defense in the NFL with Johnson added.

  17. Don't know why Favre's harassment is now a Rodgers guilt by association. Their personalities couldn't be any different. Not to mention Rodgers wouldn't be coming here (or anywhere) as a one year time-served stopover before retiring (again) to get the Jets to release him, so he was free to go where he really wanted to go in the first place to Minnesota. That means get Rodgers AND sign Mike White to a new multi-year contract. That has pretty much zero chance of happening. Not with the Jets and not with any GM in the NFL. White is not under contract with the Jets. If there's a trade for Rodgers they aren't going to have the $ to waste to sign full-time bench players, and how much would it take to get White to re-sign here knowing his next chance at being his team's starter - outside of a random game here or series there - would be at age 30? White is a better fit for a team that's drafting a QB in round 1, where he might be the early-season - and possibly full-season starter - until the rookie is ready or MFW gets injured, whichever happens first.

  18. Perhaps in a weird twisted way he wants to get traded to the Jets and do what Favre failed to do. The ultimate middle finger to the NFL world to end his career.

  19. Okay Favre is an assh0le who sent inappropriate texts to a couple of women… What exactly are we debating here? Joe Namath is revered by this fanbase and had cell phones existed in the 60’s/70’s, would’ve been sending dick pics left, right and center to every chick in his contacts with a bottle of Johnny Walker in the other hand. I’m talking about what Favre gave the Jets on the field before he wrecked his shoulder. It was pretty good. And I would like for Aaron Rodgers to do the same…

  20. I mean, we were 8-3 and SB favorites before Favre banged up his shoulder. And if he doesn’t decide to saunter away to Minnesota to go “get revenge” on the Packers, no one can convince me that we don’t win a SB with him behind center instead of Sanchez on those early Rex teams.

  21. All I know is that the last time we traded for a disgruntled, socially bizarre HOF quarterback from Green Bay that was past his prime it went really well. Sign me up.

  22. Kinda want Rodgers just for the off chance that he tells the media at some point to go fuk themselves.

  24. I’m not sure I understand your logic, guys. The reason I chose Hurts is the way the Eagles looked when he did get hurt.

  26. Not selling the farm for guys like Rogers and Lamar = good Trotting out Mike = BAD Thus that leaves us with one choice, go get Derrick Carr = GOOD

  27. I think the Aaron Rodgers stuff could impact who they hire. The Senior Bowl will give them a real opportunity to feel out the QB market (+ Packers willingness to trade Rodgers) and also complete some interviews that will impact their decision-making. I’ve always figured Hackett would be on the staff in some capacity. I still am not convinced it would certainly be as OC. If they do hire him to be OC, I would think it’s because they think they have a real shot at landing Rodgers. Unlike last year when the Broncos hired Hackett, the ball was in Aaron’s court. Now the ball is in GB’s court, and if they decide the best course forward is rebuild and Aaron is forced to select an AFC team, our situation will appeal between Saleh, Hackett, and the young talent. I still think they will hire a PHI guy and pair them with Hackett. I think the team desperately wants to incorporate a more simple offensive strategy where they kind of take the core Shanahan/WCO principles but integrate more creative wrinkles such as the RPO… you look at what PHI and CIN are doing with it and it’s so simple, I think that’s what the Jets want.

  28. Ehhh I think Rodgers has rabbit ears for criticism and he responds to it by doing weirder sh*t. He’s a narcissist to the bone.

  29. We have holes on the OL, no doubt. But I would think having a Hall of Fame QB who knows how to read defenses, set protections, check out of bad play calls, identify free rushers, hit the hot reciever, etc would help make the OL better. With a guy like Rodgerws, we won't be running inot 8 man boxes so it shoudl help the running game as well. For years, we have talked about awful OLs and QB play. I think they both feed off each other. A QB who has seen as much as Rodgers should be able to help the OL.

  30. Gotta love the NFL where being smart or actually 'intelligent' gets you labelled with a 'personality disorder' of sorts. If there is one individual that can take on and potentially slay the NYJ curse, IMO it would be Rodgers...because his 'personality disorder' or 'stuff' would allow him not give 2 f*cks what anyone else thinks of him...especially the NY Media

  31. If we get Rodgers, we are not spending money on a QB2 -- it will be Zach with maybe a day 3 pick or some other cheap camp/PS guy.

  32. They're probably thinking "Something is wrong here. This guy is way too talented to be on a team like the Jets".

  34. In no particular order, Zach might need: 1. Weekly meetings with a sports psychologist 2. Anti anxiety / ADHD medication 3. New prescription for his contacts 4. Testing for color blindness 5. A spiritual cleanse to erase the memory of his former OC 6. A restraining order to protect him from Elijah Moore & Denzel Mims 7. A test flight on Bezos' penis plane to the tip of our atmosphere, scaring the sh*te out of him so badly that playing football will now be considered easy 8. A trip to Hedonism

  35. Easily my preference; given our current situation, he's all of the things i would hope to secure in an OC
