  1. I don't know about bust, but people are talking about him as if he's predestined to be this great MVP caliber QB and I just don't see it. He's basically a rich man's Jameis Winston
  2. When exactly should we hold Darnold accountable for his poor play on the field? All I hear around here are excuses for him. I saw plenty of times this season where he had ample time in the pocket and just made plain stupid decisions with the football. He's very cavalier with his passing. Was in college, hasn't changed in the pros. The guys we could have drafted instead of Darnold are: Jackson(2019 MVP), Mahomes(2018 MVP, 2019 AFC champ), Watson(2X Pro Bowler, 24-13 as a NFL starter). I know everyone here is heavily invested in having Darnold be this great QB... but what if he just isn't? There's a lot of data to suggest he'll never even be as good as Watson, forget about Mahomes or Jackson.
  3. I knew this thread was coming. I wouldn't really make too much out of that silly drill in the Pro Bowl. If you watch the games he clearly puts the ball in positions where WRs can make plays on it. Can Darnold: - stay healthy a full season - actually have a good season before comparing him favorably to MVPs? Thanks in advance.
  4. You just watched SF get to the Super Bowl with a running back pulled from our PS who ran for 220 yards. Running game is all OL and scheme. You can find guys to run the rock anywhere.
  5. Fun facts from this season: The Chiefs D allowed less points than the SF D. The 49ers O scored more points than the Chiefs O.
  6. I'm comfortable saying that Mahomes is a better player than Darnold will ever be(regardless of situation) and passing over Mahomes to draft Adams will go down as one of the worst decisions the Jets have ever made --- and that's saying something considering how many bad decisions this franchise has made.
  7. We could've drafted one of these new age QBs, however our old GM thought a strong safety was more valuable.
  8. Targets and who will actually sign are two different things. I give a blank check to the best OL that will take our money.
  9. Winning a useless game last year vs Buffalo cost us Nick Bosa..... but Quinnen Williams is almost as good right guys????
  10. Metcalf, McLaurin and Brown all pretty much had the same season. They could only pick two. Player 1: 52 rec, 1051 yards, 8 TD Player 2: 58 rec, 900 yards, 7 TD Player 3: 58 rec, 919 yards, 7 TD
  11. I think if you don't give the MVP to Jackson(which is absurd), you have a real argument to give the MVP to Wilson. That team's garbage without him and they were 1 yard away from winning the NFC West. For all the people choosing Henry - are you aware that the MVP is a regular season award? Look at Henry's game log: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/H/HenrDe00.htm Giving the guy the MVP for a 6 game stretch is ludicrous. He was utterly mediocre the first 9 games of the season.
  12. Burrow throws a beautiful deep ball. The Bengals are very lucky.
  13. 100% yes. I think Burrow will be a better pro than Darnold and he'll be under cheap team control for longer.
  14. NFL MVP is a regular season award, it's easily Jackson from Baltimore. Best player, most impactful on a 14-2 team. What happened this weekend is irrelevant to that.
  15. Titans are going to try to implement the same game plan they used vs NE, batter the Ravens with the run game, shorten the game, keep Jackson on the sideline. Ravens win but Titans cover.
  16. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/201812090buf.htm Bowles' last F you as Jets head coach. We lose this game, Bosa is a Jet right now. But we have Q, so all is well, right?
  17. Bosa already applying pressure. I'm so glad we beat Buffalo in an absolutely meaningless game last year to move from 2 to 3.
  18. Will Darnold ever be MVP of the league? Will Darnold ever lead the Jets to the #1 overall seed in the AFC? He's got a pretty high bar to climb.
  19. Redskins just drafted Haskins and the owner loves him. They're not going QB at 2. Stafford's not the answer at QB for the Lions but he's good enough for the time being. Patricia and Quinn are going to be out of jobs if they don't win next year, they're not going with a rookie QB.
  20. It's mindboggling the Jets still haven't figured out how to replace Abraham.
  21. Defense is a part of football, no matter how much the NFL tries to legislate against it. How about stopping a team from getting in the end zone?
  22. The Saints went to OT with the Rams last year in the NFCCG. Saints won the coin toss. Who won that game?
  23. Drew Brees was awful in the WC game and Cousins out-played him. I'd say Taysom Hill was a more impactful player for the Saints than Brees was today.
  24. Results-based decision making isn't the best course of action. If the Saints want to throw the ball, use Brees.
