The thinking is that OT is a coin toss ... 4th and 1 is a better % chance of winning than taking it to OT.

It's still the right choice, even if it didn't work out.  If you stick on 15 against the dealer's 6 in blackjack sometimes the dealer will get a 5.  But it doesn't make it the wrong choice to stick.

  2. Fant is a strong pass blocker and a below average run blocker.  When Becton comes back, I would tell Moses if you want to stay on the field we want you to play right guard.  Put Fant back at RT and Becton at LT and that's our best five.  Normally I don't just assume a tackle can move to guard but Moses's skills seem like they would translate well.  And this would get rid of our weak link (Van Roten) and improve our running game dramatically.  I know Moses would probably be resistant but if the alternative is the bench, maybe he'd come around.

Geno needed to be punched. He had the most entitled “already arrived” attitude teams had ever seen. He’s made a nice career as a backup. Teams may tolerate dbag QBs who start and are good (see Rodgers) but they ain’t taking that crap from a backup. After a couple drinks he’d probably admit that it — and getting let go by Giants for losing his playbook and not telling anyone about it all year — was the best thing for him.

I had never heard that story about the playbook.  That is crazy.  The dude is a QB; you might think he would have to look at it on occasion.

Well, its well known he does like to drink

And other stuff, too, I think was the story I heard?  Owning an NFL team must be the best job in the world because you can get away with anything.  If anyone doesn't feel that some people have too much money, here is an excerpt from his Wikipedia page:

    Notable memorabilia collection[edit]

Outside of football, Irsay has made significant investments in music and memorabilia. In 2001 Irsay purchased the original manuscript of On the Road, or "the scroll": a continuous, one hundred twenty-foot scroll of tracing paper sheets that Jack Kerouac cut to size and taped together, for $2.43 million. On May 5, 2018, he purchased an original printing of the 1939 book Alcoholics Anonymous with notes handwritten by the author Bill Wilson, cofounder of AA, for $2.4 million at auction.[16]

Irsay has purchased guitars originally owned by Elvis Presley,[17] George Harrison, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Jerry Garcia ("Tiger"),[17] Prince, Les Paul’s 1954 Black Beauty[18] and other notable performers.[19] His purchases have set records: in 2014 he bought the electric guitar that Bob Dylan played at Newport for just under US$1 million[20] and in 2017 he paid US$2.2 million for a Ludwig drum set belonging to Ringo Starr.[21] On June 20, 2019, Irsay paid a record $3.975 million for a guitar, known as The Black Strat, formerly owned by Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour.[22]

Whatever happened to green eggs and ham?

If this is a real question (which I think it is) he became extremely absorbed in defending the honor of one Sarah Palin (no, I'm not kidding).  He overreacted to some good and not so good-natured ribbing.  Lost his mind and threatened to kill (or at least beat the crap out of) some posters in DMs.  Was banned, I think, or maybe he wasn't (because he was a Moderator?) which caused a lot of people to leave, pre Scout.

    No doubt.

Highest upside, high pick, will be here for years- don’t piss him off but more so he’s literally our best LT. He showed that last year. Will help in the run game too.

keep Moses starting at RT. Fant swing tackle.

Moses's strengths are well-suited to guard.  If the coaching staff goes to him and says we would like to try you at guard or you're going to back up Fant at RT why would he say no?  And he couldn't be worse than Van Rotten.
