That's an interesting trade scenario I haven't seen mentioned much.  Not sure who the Vikes would want badly enough to trade up for but maybe replacing Diggs with Jeudy or Lamb is an interesting option for them.

Oddly, almost all the mocks on nfl.com have Austin Jackson as the 5th OT and Josh Jones in the 2nd round.  22-25 could turn out to be an interesting no-man's-land for the OTs if Jackson is gone.  Everyone else seems to all be 2nd rounders, not late-1st.  Still, maybe you can trade down again if need be.  On the WR front, you should have some very nice choices there.  Higgins, Jefferson and Mims all should be there at 22 (or at least two of them).

I think they're the perfect trade partner. The Vikings have 12 picks in the draft! They can't use all those draft picks. Just look at the amount of talent on their team. Here are all their picks.

    Round 1, No. 22,

    Round 1: No. 25,

    Round 2: No. 58,

    Round 3: No. 89,

    Round 3: No. 105,

    Round 4: No. 132,

    Round 5: No. 155,

    Round 6: No. 201,

    Round 6: No. 205,

    Round 7: No. 219,

    Round 7: No. 249,

    Round 7: No. 253

As stated, the problem is that they cant use all of those picks. Sure, the Vikings lost some talent, but overall it's still a pretty solid team. The Vikings have needs at CB, WR, OT, DE, and Safety.

Imagine if they were able to get a crack at getting the best WR, the 2nd best CB, 2nd or 3rd best OT  in the draft depending on how the first 10 picks fall?

The vikings dont need 12 draft picks, they need players who can perform immediately because they're still in their SB window, and trading up to pick 11 helps with that goal.

The Jets could offer their 11th, 68th and 79th picks in the draft for the Vikes 22nd and 25th and 105th picks.

The Vikings can pick the cream of the crop to add to their already talented team while the Jets now have 3 picks within the top 50 including two 1st round picks sitting in the high 20's with guys like, Josh Jones, Denzel Mims, Ezra Cleveland, just to name a few, sitting there for the taking.

We'd be able to get our starting OT and WR before we're out of the 1st round.

The great part about it, because we traded them  high picks, the Vikes can trade up some more and really get some quality in the draft.

It's a win/win. The Jets need to be talking to the Vikings.

I feel the same way. These WR’s have me giddy! I think this is why, even though I have an infatuation with Jeudy and Lamb, you can’t go wrong with Jefferson, Higgins, Pittman JR and like 3 others.

A lot of these guys are really starting WR’s from day one. It’s so impressive, man. I want two of them. We need two of them.

I really hope the Jets can trade down out of 11 and pick up the Vikings 22nd and 25th picks in the draft. If there was EVER a draft that we could trade down in and get solid day 1 starters it's this one. I'd take Josh Jones over Becton. Id' take Cleveland over Becton. I'd also like to have a couple high picks in the top 50 to spend on WR as well. This draft is going to be exciting.

What did Sam do to p you off?

Sam has done nothing to me. Sam Darnold is in a bad situation, and like Robby I wish he was in a better one.

And that's coming from a guy who didnt like Darnold at USC. I seen enough on the pro level to know that the kid has the ability, he's on the wrong team.

So when I say that he's not going to throw for 5,100 yards and 33 TD's it's not because of him specifically, it's because the last time a player did that in a Jets Jersey it was NEVER. The last time a QB had 4,000 yards we have to go back to the 1960's.

You put Sam Darnold on the Bucs right now he'd be a top 15 QB in this league today, right now.

You know other than to sell your point?

    Or because they are desperate.

I mean since apparently youve asked them

The only thing we know for sure is JD doesnt think hes a #2.  I'll take JDs opinion over a Baylor HC who as never coached an NFL team

    I said he's the #2 Wideout

The more I watch him, the more impressed I come away with him.

Pittman is a physical high pointer and as i’m watching him, I’m seeing a ton of impressive adjustments to passes, his body control is A1 and he tracks the ball super well. Also looks like he could be a tough intermediate route runner. That’s something Sam needs. a solid #2 (hell, he looks like a #1 to me) who can go over the middle for tough grabs and make something happen. Pittman has football player written all over him man! He’s got great hands and I really like these concentrated grabs in traffic. He’s someone Sam could trust to put up the 50/50 ball on 1-on-1 coverage. He’s not a twitchy athlete but he’s got a little get up to him. This is definitely a guy I would love to see in Green/White. I’m watching him now since I have the day off and, again, I’m really impressed. He can develop into a guy who does it all dangerously. I can’t believe how much I like his film after just sinking my teeth in.

let me know what you guys think.

    This WR class is stacked.

I wouldnt be surprised if future HOF'ers are found in between the 2nd-4th rounds. There is talent to be had in this draft. Which is why we should be trading down.

Imagine coming away with drafting Josh Jones in the early 20's while being able to pick up guys like a Pittman. Bro, there are WR's that I like in this draft that I havent even mentioned Killa such as James Proche out of SMU.

I got a feeling that this draft is going to be legendary when it comes to the receivers in this draft.

You play who you play.  I’ve seen Robby tear up lousy secondaries too last couple years with Sam most notably the same Lions defense you say Perriman’s stats shouldn’t count facing against

Which is why I made sure to add context to the teams that he was playing.

I've also seen Robby torch lousy defenses, but I also know that Robby never had the plethora of top talent WR's to draw attention nor has he had future HOF coaches.

Perriman produced his numbers in FANTASTIC situations, now he's coming to the Jets where Sam will not be throwing for 5,100 yards and 33TD's nor is he being coached by Harbaugh or Arians.

  9. Aaaaaaand look at how quickly Mogglez decided to make this thread about Baker Mayfield lmao.

so the TL'DR of this is...

Doing well against bad teams is #actually bad.

Weird.  When Baker did it his rookie year, you were singing a different tune.

Just making sure that we're being consistent.  That's all.  Thanks for having so much salt about all of this that I can season my steak tn tho.

I'd say the numbers Perriman put up against those defenses were that of a first round pick.

As for Baker?  He sure as sh*t didn't play like a first round pick when asked to go against good defenses though.  That's the criteria that you feel needs to be met, after all.  THOSE are the games that #actually count.  Not the ones against bad defenses.

The tune is exactly the same.  You just wanna change it to suit your argument.

    11 minutes ago, Mogglez said:

Only Baker gets to play well against sh*t defenses Phil.

Everyone else that does it is a failed abortion with zero chance of improvement.

    4 minutes ago, Mogglez said:

Prettttty sure Darnold has more wins against top defenses than Baker, but since you absolutely despise the team you claim to root for, Im sure youll find an excuse for that.

RGIII had a sick rookie season too.

Th point is that you hold one to a certain standard because you want to collect his used toilet paper for a shrine, but will sh*t all over a guy we signed for peanuts.  Then when called out on it, always fall back on "but muh HIZTORIC szn".

You're salty about my opinion regarding this topic. Can we atleast stay on topic though? lmao.

For the record I wanted to resign Robby but Perriman has the speed and ball skills to be a good target for Sam

For the record, I believe you. You mentioned how tremendous Perriman played, and I agree. Im simply adding context to it. The man played against defense that gave up yards like that was their purpose on the field. When he played against middle of the pack teams his stats reflected what we'd generally see from him.

"You ignored my point to your opinion again while reiterating your opinion then trying to conclude the conversation with "That's all. You dont see it. Fine".

I did see you opinion, which I didnt ignore, you ignored my opinion because you can only see yours.

Im also fine with that. No need to triple down on the fact that you're ignoring my point. :-) "

Like I said.  Just making sure we are being consistent.  That's all :).

So the TL:DR of this is.

Baker Mayfield is like Perriman, except Baker is an actual Starter and had an historical rookie season...though this topic is clearly in the wrong thread.

    You failed at this Mogglez
