  1. I dunno. Keller doesn't play or produce at a first round level. He's a JAG. Not an outright bust, but a forgettable draft pick nonetheless. I'm sure Tannenbaum is leaving Keller's name off the ol' resume these days.

No way. We traded up for 12 points below chart price!

  2. Edit: it is pretty funny how Werner gets the label as having a high motor, when that's one of his bigger knocks.

I like Mingo but Werner is better. We're not getting either of them. High motor is just words. Werner knocks down an awful lot of passes for a guy who's somehow lacking in effort or concentration. He looks a lot more active now that he's down to 255.

  3. #3 seems like a stretch. FO has us at 5th in the running game and 30th in pass protection which seems a lot more reasonable. A lot of that latter number is Sanchez, but Mangold and Moore really weren't very good this year, Howard is only good in comparison to Hunter, and Slauson's pass protection is only good in comparison to his run blocking. PFF's stats are faux. Anecdotal evidence expressed in numerical form is still bullsh*t.

  4. i am not giving up on him either but long term the Jets have Kerley, Hill and no one. it's not exactly a reason to avoid WR in the draft. it's one of the thinnest positions on the team. most good teams have multiple options

Allen is a really exciting player and I haven't heard anything that makes it seem like the knee is a problem going forward. Seems like fine value at 9 plus it doesn't really preclude doubling down later on because there's going to be crazy value at the position in round 3/4/5.

  5. There's gonna be a run on DE and no QB's picked before the Jets slot, that's just how I see it.

It does look pretty brutal. Besides Kansas City everybody in front of us needs pass rushers.

  6. Werner would play a position they have just drafted two guys at the last 2 years and he's not going to be the impact pass rusher the Jets need.

Wilkerson and Coples would be reasons not to draft somebody like Sheldon Richardson or Shariff Floyd. Werner plays a completely different position. You're probably right that he wouldn't be much of a pass rusher if we tried to make him a tackle for some reason.

  7. They shouldn't be thinking of Werner either. They have too many holes on O.

There are zero offensive prospects in this draft that are anywhere near as good as Werner is. He's at the top of the Jets' board for sure.

  8. What I like about Bark Mingo going #2 is that he actually fits their defense. Having him play the 7-technique or 9-technique is where he'll shine. Bringing a slight-of-frame pass rusher here to play OLB is rolling dice.

Playing 7- and 9-technique is exactly what Mingo would be doing for us. Don't get hung up on terminology.

  9. the risk is ok at 9 because Jarvis Jones is probably the best defender in the draft. If he's totally clean he goes 2 like Von Miller. They aren't reaching like Ansah pick likely would be.

Jones is either not there or not draftable. Ansah I just don't get. Like the whole case for the guy is Jason Pierre-Paul this, Jason Pierre Paul that, but JPP didn't go top ten himself and Ansah doesn't really even look like he's in that class as an athlete anyway.

  10. i dont think 1 QB goes before 9, let alone 2. this Qb class eats balls.

also Jarvis Jones at 17? no way the Jets pass on Jarvis Jones.

Obviously Werner isn't actually going to be there at 9, but I'm pretty sure if he is there's no way the Jets are even thinking about Jarvis Jones.

  11. yeah maybe... but not the Jets boards. No one ever has a bad enough chart to get off the jets board.

The dude is a ticking time bomb and he's going to be an old rookie to boot. I don't care if the team doctor is James Woods. Drafting a guy because you hope he can last three years is insane.

  12. The article lists: Marcus McNeil, Michael Irvin, Chris Samuels, and Sterling Sharpe as being probowlers that ultimately walked away from the game because of this condition.

It's not just ultimately that we have to worry about. Stenosis is bad enough. Unlike McNeill, who played basically every game in college, Jones has already had complications. I think after the combine he's going to be off a bunch of boards.

  13. DeVito--Ellis--Mo--Coples on the line with Draft Pick--Davis--Harris behind them is probably the easiest way to get their best front seven personnel on the field at once, and I think Mo would really dominate in that scenario:

Wilkerson, Pouha or DeVito, Coples, draft pick on the line is the best. Having two guys in Wilkerson and Coples who can play 3- and 5-technique interchangeably and stay on the field for third down is the hard part. Get the pass rusher and you can throw whoever out there at linebacker.
