The Black Keys - El Camino
If that was actually eligible this thread would be shorter and less depressing. Cloud Nothings, The Men, Japandroids, Ty Segall, White, Hives, Godspeed, Burial, Chromatics, Spritualized. I guess. Crap year.

The guy who plays Al Capone in "Boardwalk", Stephen Graham, has a small but important part. I had no idea he was a Brit. In "TTSS" he sports a 1970s red fro. In fact he's part Jamaican. If you look at either character in these roles hard to believe it's the same guy.

This is awesome.

This list wears a keffiyeh and drinks PBR.

Ah yes. TML2. I believe that's the stat that the Philadelphia Sphas used to rely on.
It's highly correlated with neck tattoos.

That has everything to do D'Antoni's offense still being huge part of what Woodson runs and really nothing else.
Right. It's Mike D'Antoni's fault we shoot too many long twos. Seek help.

That's because Chandler can only make shots at the rim. Chandler knows his limitations and has essentially mastered them. The benefit of it is that he has worked on his FT shooting over the years so teams can't simply foul him to stop him.
If he only shoots at the rim and the stripe then he only takes good shots and it doesn't really matter why. Carmelo takes lots of bad shots. So does Felton. So does J.R. So does Rasheed. When Amare comes back, he will too. Good shots are free throws, three-pointers, and shots at the rim. Crap shots are everything else. You really don't even need to look at actual points scored to figure out who's good and who isn't.

NBA Geek is going to favor Chandler over Melo in their measurements because they favor centers heavily in the way they weight it
WP48 weighs Chandler over Melo because Melo takes lots of bad shots and Chandler never takes any.

That's one heck of an argument. So you're saying that really good players cover up for players that aren't as good as them on basketball rosters? You're crazy. You're crazy man. I like you, but you're crazy.
I guess it doesn't say it all to everyone. Mostly what I'm getting at is that even though Chandler and Kidd aren't going to maintain their current pace (I mean, just by definition; they're 1-2 in the league in WP48 right now), there's enough room for improvement in terms of playing time allocation that this team can get significantly better anyway. You can pretty much figure out which of those are going to happen and which aren't.

Kidd (last night excepted) and Chandler (last night especially) are playing absolutely amazing and it's covering for a lot of bad play and bad decisions.

Pretty much says it all.

Look at that lineup, lol.
God that's rough. But for Lee I think this would have to warrant serious consideration for the actual worst NBA starting five I've ever seen. I guess that's how you get to the floor for seven bills.
-
Who cares?
I'm a little perplexed that making fun of Pat Riley is suddenly something to get all upset over, but I don't especially care.
-
What's fool's gold? Ball movement and making open shots?
It's what Riley calls three-pointers.

ouch. i should just shut up, huh?
The point more specifically was meant to be that you need to do a better job of picking your spots for the Pollyanna sh*t.

i know this is unlikely... but it's possible

I don't get Camby at all. Even at his age for a big, this heavy of a dropoff seems crazy.
Really? I would have thought that this would be the rule and a more gradual decline the exception. I guess there's a little bit of hope, but when we're letting Rasheed play his way back from retirement, it's tough to buy Camby's merely not being in game shape as a legitimate reason why he can't crack the rotation.
-
Said it before and I'll say it again. The reason I respect Grunwald's effort is that he went all in on the next 3 years on experience and some size. Nobody is competing with Lebron in the East and this is as competitive a shot as you're gonna get.
Too bad we're not getting anything out of the frontcourt rotation. What happened to Birdman with that jailbait stuff? Sheed is a great mascot and everything but having him out there for major minutes is a joke.

I know that no one on the FO staff thinks anything but that Sanchez has a bright future ahead of him
Lewin's numbers said he sucked, Lewin liked him anyway. FO's numbers said he sucked, FO liked him anyway. What is it with this goddamned kid?

I hated basically everything about this movie. For starters, fast-forwarding to 1865 totally misses the point of the book. The passage of the 13th amendment definitely gets short shrift in the history books, but the main focus of the Goodwin book is how Abe played a bunch of really smart political cutthroats like so many fiddles. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to just skip to the part where they're all under his thumb already. I don't think DDL's approach really works for Lincoln either. No matter how faithfully you try to adhere to the historical record, you're still talking about a mythological figure here. You can't method Batman. Fields's performance was cheap hysterics, and Tommy Lee, Straithairn, McGill, etc. were all basically just playing themselves in period costume. Also don't think I've felt so bludgeoned by a director's lightning choices since the first Godfather. The whole thing is like a caricature of the Big Deal Movie blueprint. This is probably unfair, because Spielberg directing Day-Lewis in Game of Rivals is a total expectations trap, but I really did hate the movie.

Unless somebody can figure out another way to get rid of Rex and keep Pettine, Westhoff's retirement is going to last about five minutes.

The forum folks have criticized my work before and I usually don’t respond cause they are entitled to their opinion even if it is different than mine but do not accuse me of stealing material, that is not fair to me and I will than fight back not just accept it.
See, Jason's article is like dun-dun-dun-dundundun-dun, dun-dun-dun-dundundun-dun.
And yours is like dun-dun-dun-dundundun-dun, DA-dun-dun-dun-dundundun-dun.
You're both so proud of yourselves that I can't figure out how it matters a fraction of a flash what anybody else thinks anyway.

Do you think Wikipedia mentions Santonio Holmes became a free agent in 2010?
I'd certainly hope not.
