they have Tanny covering on the MKS this week and yesterday he said he would not sign him cause he hasnt participated in a offseason program yet this year. then he brought up Ryan Kalil as an example. also said there is a reason nobody has sign him and its Aug.

i hope hes wrong but its something to think about

Tanny is a good listen. That guy Dan Grassa is unlistenable, however. FWIW, no matter how you feel about what Tanny did here, the three guys going into the Ring of Honor were all his picks.

This is the one player I really disagree with you.  I think that Marshall is the prototypical run stuffer that the Jets need to keep, and if put on the practice squad or cut, would be picked up in an instant.   I just don't see that happening.

Totally agree. There are two guys in his position group I would cut before him.....Sheppard and Rankins.

Luck is the residue of design. What they did is modeled the approach that won the Giants 107 games last year. They chose players with certain splits, and rather than attempting to make them every day players, decided to use them in match-ups that take advantage of their splits. And that is what you are seeing. Only Lindor, Nimmo, Alonso and Marte are every day players now. Every one is is an interchangeable match up mash.

What really works for this club that they are a TEAM. After most at bats, you see players coming back and talking to the on deck batter and then other players about what they saw at the plate in terms of pitch movement. The batters are really grinding every at bat and wearing down pitchers. Strider was correct, the Mets have a lot of soft contact. That is because they are emphasizing contact rather than trying to mash every pitch. If you hit the ball, good things can happen.

Same with the pitchers. They hang out in the dugout together and talk.

Credit Buck and Max for this approach.

Very similar to Gil’s 1969 club…..,Only Agee, Cleon, Buddy and Grote were everyday players. Hope we get same results.😁

Edoga often appears lethargic and almost disinterested to me.  He has always seemed to lack the killer instinct and the desire to just bury guys.

Hopefully, the opportunity to potentially start lights a fire under him.

Also playing next to AVT may help....think they played one year together at SC.

Bassitt taking a little of that Max and Jake residue

He is definitely old school in his mentality. Said it after game   “I’m an innings eater.” How smart is Buck having Bassit pitch the first game after the Braves knowing he goes deep and will more than likely give the bullpen an extra day?

I kid. I think one of the Jets many problems on defense last year was that they were relatively unathletic, particularly at LB and safety, which would account for five yard runs turning into 20 yard runs. IMO, LB is still bad, but the upgrades at safety should absolutely help.

One other culprit for this......horrible tackling. That has to be addressed and has absolutely nothing to do with athletic ability.

I tried to stop it at the top of the stem as closest as I could. Davis is about to break right and Wilson needs to be starting his throwing motion. He's a tick late which is why the ball is behind Davis. AGAIN Davis should have caught that but the throw is late and behind him.

    @Jimmy 2 Times@Bowles Movement

This will hopefully show the coaching staff what many on the site were saying this past week. Zach needs more reps in practice with his WR's. He has to feel his guys making their break and they in turn need to know that the ball will be there on time.

IMO Mets look at this as temporary, otherwise they would have done more at the deadline. I think they have a lot of confidence in using both Peterson and Megill out of the bullpen once things finally shake out and get back to normal with Jake.

I think this may have more to do with Trevor May vs Robertson. May was throwing great last night, and if the reports they were getting from Syracuse while he was rehabbing were good, it probably made them pass on Robertson especially if the price that the Cubs were asking for was a top 4/5 prospect. Robertson would have been the bridge to Diaz, and also the guy who can close when needed .May is that guy and has also closed for the Twins. At best I think they looked at that situation as a push, not worth giving up a good prospect. If they use Peterson in the pen, think it has to be as a long man, not a guy who you bring in late in a game to specifically get one or two lefties out. Ronnie explained that perfectly last night in game #2. That said, not getting a lefty arm for the pen still baffles me.

Conversation this morning with my wife:

Wife:  Do you have anything going on tonight, maybe we can go out.

Me: Well, the Jets have their green and white scrimmage tonight.  I am looking forward to it.

Wife: I guess you have not seen the Jets play in a while, what channel is it on?

Me: It is not on TV.

Wife: Oh, so are you going to listen on the radio.

Me:  No, its not on radio either.  I am going to follow writers and fans who are there and tweet about what they see and then we will talk about the tweets on the Jet site.

Wife:  And this is what you are looking forward to?  I married an idiot.

A lot of our conversations seem to end that way.

You definitely married up.😁I think your wife and mine are sisters.
