    Marshon Lattimore says whatup.

And I'm betting Pat Mahomes is going to be pretty good this year.  Those were the two players I wanted ahead of Adams.

Can't argue with you on Williams.

But really, good teams don't take strong safeties @ 6.  If Adams were Sean Taylor, I'd have been all for it.  But he's not.

Jamal adams is gonna get even better after a great rookie year...be a little fair

If you think the QB is there, it is 100000% worth trading up.  If not, you 100000% take a QB at 6.

But, we wont because BAP and stuff.

Williams and adams were awesome picks. Passing on them would have been ****in stupid

  3. I know jet fans are aching for  "franchise QB"  but trading up probably will kill us in the longrun. First off it would cost ALOT. Just to move a few spots we would likely cost the 6th pick, both 2nds, next years first, and maybe something else. Thats not worth it considering all the holes we have. Also lets be honest over the past 20 years all these "franchise qbs" that are taken at the top of the draft usually fizzle out. The only guys i can think of that actually won were the mannings. Luck was/is ultra-talented but even he hasnt led the colts anywhere. We should stay put to see if someone drops or trade back to gain extra picks and select  Another qb who might be getting less coverage than the other 4 but still has talent

It’s common sense that if you spend 15 million on 2 useless players, you have depleted your spending power. That money could easily been allocated to a top OL.  Mac needs to spend money wisely instead of throwing it away like your a multi billionaire. 100 million goes faster than you think. But who are we kidding. This is a dope that signed Revis and Harris past their prime and gave Wilk and Fitz ridiculous contracts. And so on and so on.

    Shut up

I guess Bowles is really in charge. I cant wrap my head around any other scenario that makes sense. We are literally repeating history with resigning the over-achieving veteran JAG and anointing him the starter. Has to be Bowles, all he wants is his veteran JAG and once we lost out on Cousins he probably went into full panic mode. We obviously learned absolutely nothing from history. It is like we WANT to be completely mediocre. Why do I follow a team this is this stupid?

Make no mistake, we draft defense in round 1. If we dont maybe things can be salvaged but Bowles wouldnt play a rookie or even give him snaps anyway.

We WILL NOT draft defense in Round 1.  Get the sand out of your vagina and calm down

The top 4 QBs are most likely better than any QB next year. We cannot afford to do it just because they may be the first QB off the board. This is the year you move up to grab your QB. Who knows about next year.

It costs way too much.  teams will look to **** us just to move up 2-3 spots

I get it man I really do like I said I’m always an optimist with this team, but realizing how much we’ve put into this defense for what seams like forever still needs major work after a good signing like this. It is sad to be honest if you look at the big picture. But sure it was a good move. As long as you’re happy though, don’t let my one negative post about this team get you down

I'm not doing cartwheels BUT I'm not bitching either.  Who said that the jets aren't gonna focus on offense at the draft?   To be fair Mac has usually take the best player available.  Last Year he would of been crazy to pass on Jamal adams just because he is a "defensive  player".  Same situation with leonard Williams.  This year I can almost guarantee you tat we will focus more on offense in the first 2 rounds

I know many on here wanted Cousins but realistically he said he wanted $10M more per season to sign here.  That would've meant $38M per year for (I assume) 3 years.  And maybe he would've only done it if the contract were fully guaranteed.  So Cousins wasn't realistic.

It's possible one of Darnold, Rosen, Allen, Mayfield falls to #6.  Certainly Saquon Barkley could get taken in the top 5.  Possibly Chubb can as well?  If not, Macc is probably going to have to get aggressive and trade up.  Other GMs realize the situation Macc is in and they'll clearly use that to extract more in a trade.  If Macc likes 1 QB more than the others (maybe Darnold?) then he needs to do whatever it takes to trade up to #1.  It will be painful but at least we'll (hopefully) finally have a foundation for this team.  I'm guessing it will cost us something like:

    #1 this year

    #1 next year

    Both #2's this year

    #3 next year

However, we have the cap space to fill some holes.  We can sign Jensen at C and maybe sign a TE and WR to give the draftee some protection and weapons.

Maybe Macc can also make one of those Cleveland trades where we take on a bad contract for a 2nd round pick.  That will at least help replenish next year's draft somewhat.

I don't think they are trading the number 1 pick.  But that's still a awful lot to give up especially since we still have many holes to fill and we probably wont be a playoff team next year anyway.

This thread proves no matter who the jets sign there will be people who complain. We just got one of the best corners in the leafs. Some of you guys really gotta lighten up

Exactly.  Makes me hate my own fanbase

It’s sad that we still need another 2 corners after this. All we do is focus on D in the draft and it’s gotten us nowhere. For those of you who don’t know me, I’m always an optimist with the Jets most of the times to a fault. But this is just too sad.

It was a good move at a position that we needed an upgrade from.  The fact that you are pissed that they signed a defensive player that we needed is more sad

  11. Too much whining.  yes I understand its frustrating when a free agent you want doesn't come here BUT honestly what were they suppose to do?  They obviously went hard after Cousins and he wanted to got to Minny.  After that there really isn't a lot of great free agent options.  Plus people do realize that we probably will draft a QB right?  I just wish fans would be a bit more patient for their own sake

Has to be some kind of record. A really pathetic record. Maybe if we secure #6 next year too, Macc and TB will get another well deserved extension.

Last I checked the last two times we picked 6th we got 2 absolute studs in Williams and adams.  So maybe instead of whining you should look forward to the draft because we have a pretty damn good record at picking 6

  13. What do you expect the jets to do?  I mean they get rid  of everybody and didn't sign anybody.  They clearly were lookin to rebuild and be bad this year.  They're probably more surprised than anybody that this team has won 3 games already.  Unless you ask the jets to literally lay down during kickoff there is not much that can be done.  I mean nobody expected Miami to play so crappy and the Jaguars gave the game away as well.   Also getting a top pick doesn't necessarily mean you are getting a franchise QB.  The Manning brothers are the only top picks that won anything.  Luck obviously is a great talent but he never led the colts far and he is hurt all the time.  I mean look at the browns they've always had top picks and they're still a dumpster fire.

  14. Why is Fitz starting?  For many reasons.  Petty is hurt, geno is hurt, and the season is over.  Also more importantly when he gets clobbered because of our inept offensive line it will mean nothing for our future.  We cant risk putting Hackenberg in there and him getting seriously injured.
