  1. David Wright - no way. I think Klecko is a no-brainer though.
  2. The current Jet helmet reminds me of the 1980’s Jets. PTSD.
  3. They have the Bills' helmet at #24? I can't take that list seriously. The Bills' helmet is one of the best in the NFL. And I have to admit I like the Patriots' helmet a lot more than they did as well. Also, how do they have the Seahawks at #8? I would also move up the Colts, Giants and Bears to (probably) the top 10. The Jets new helmet is probably around #20 for me. Our previous one was much better, imo.
  4. You're right that it was 1998 but I wrote 1999 because that's what the OP wrote. Why am I so confident that we would've beaten the Falcons in that Superbowl? Probably a lot of the reason is that we dominated them in regular season game that year. Another thing is that our coaching staff was amazing. A 3rd thing is that I think the Jets did a great job that year of winning the "winnable games". I hear you on the "I felt very confident they were going to win up 10-0 in the 3rd quarter" (referring to the Denver AFC CG, of course). However, I recently re-watched that game for the first time since it happened and I have to say that Denver's defense was absolutely dominant that day. We turned the ball over like 6 times but I still think the story was their defense. I really wish Alex Van Dyke didn't fumble on a catch over the middle in the 4th quarter (when we were trying to come back) because I think we still had a shot had we scored there. But that post-season was kind of a freakshow (including that crazy Jax game the week before). Hopefully this current incantation of the franchise can get it done. At least there's reason to hope for long term success due to finally having a young FQB (or at least a potential one) plus I'm optimistic about our GM.
  5. Sounds like a recipe for another Patriots Superbowl.
  6. 1999 I feel very confident we would've won 2009: We would've had maybe a small chance to win 2010: We would've had maybe a small chance to win
  7. To me, being a great pass rusher is HOF worthy. And, as far as I'm concerned, Gastineau's sack record holds to this very day (because Strahan's record is phony due to Brett Favre)
  8. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/27114308/former-kentucky-star-qb-lorenzen-dies-38 Former Kentucky and NFL quarterback Jared Lorenzen died Wednesday after a battle with cardiac and renal issues, his family confirmed to ESPN. He was 38. Lorenzen, who battled weight issues both during and after his playing career, was hospitalized last week. "It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jared Lorenzen would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation for all of your support and prayers over the past 6 days," Lorenzen's mother, Janet Hermes, said in a statement. "We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Jared today, July 3, 2019. Again, we appreciate all of the warm wishes and prayers, but as a family, we would request your respect and privacy at this time. We will offer arrangement information in the coming days. Please keep Jared's family and especially his children, in your thoughts and prayers." Lorenzen became a star at Kentucky because of his record-setting passing accomplishments and his size. Nicknamed the "Hefty Lefty" and weighing over 300 pounds, Lorenzen became Kentucky's all-time leader in passing yards (10,354), completions (862) and total offense (10,637 yards). Lorenzen signed as an undrafted free agent with the Giants in 2004 and spent parts of four seasons with New York. He signed with the Indianapolis Colts in July 2008 but was waived before the start of the season.
  9. Are there any good teams from last year who also don't think the league is sleeping on them? Weren't the Pats playing the "nobody believes in us" card last year? I'm sure this year they'll do it again with "they didn't believe in us last year and now we're a year older". The team that "everyone" believes in is probably the Rams. Other than that, every team probably can come up with an argument for why they're being disrespected. Even the Chefs lost Hunt and I assume will lose Hill.
  10. Is there any hope that Klecko will get in, btw? Or this is just us (correctly!) saying that he deserves it?
  11. As of today, the Rangers officially spent $81.5M on day old bread.
  12. Colts Owner Jim Irsay Paid $4 Million for David Gilmour’s ‘Black Strat’. He's the one who cares about David Gilmour and Pink Floyd. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/jim-irsay-david-gilmour-black-strat-interview-852850/
  13. You got invited to his HOF induction?! That's amazing. Too bad you didn't go. Probably would've been quite an experience considering you actually know the guy. He sounds like a very nice dude though. Glad he's doing well financially now.
  14. @southparkcpa I just went on Joe Delamielleure's wiki page. His last year with the Bills was 1985 but I see he played for the Charlotte Rage (an Arena League team) in 1992. Has he told any stories about that? Was it due to needing money? (assuming that's something he'd even share). So strange that he went 7 years without playing. Also, what does he think of today's NFL? I wonder if he thinks it's reminiscent of the Arena League.
  15. Probably not but I have to ask - has the subject of OJ Simpson ever come up between you and Joe Delamielleure? Does he think he's guilty?
  16. Klecko should be a no-brainer. I have no idea how he's not in. Pat Leahy though? Come on. Do kickers get in? The only kicker who should be under consideration is Mark Moseley as he was the first (and will be the only!) kicker to ever win an NFL MVP. Yes, as insane as it might sound, somehow a placekicker won NFL MVP in 1982.
  17. I don't like these kinds of articles either because they're such fluff. We know that they're not going to say they think they stink.
  18. Do the Browns have the building blocks to be a perennial playoff contender? How many playoffs have they made this decade?
  19. Steve Winwood was in consideration to be the singer for Led Zeppelin. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/jimmy-page-the-rolling-stone-interview-101221/ In fact, the Who’s drummer, Keith Moon, came up with the name Led Zeppelin at a 1966 session you produced for Jeff Beck, “Beck’s Bolero.” And it was supposed to be for an entirely different band. The band was John Paul Jones on bass, Keith Moon, Nicky Hopkins on piano, and myself and Jeff on guitars. This session was absolutely magnificent, like a force of nature. Keith was having troubles in the Who. He’s going, “We should form a band with this.” Singers were put forth. Steve Winwood was one.
  20. You're betting on 10+ wins for the Jets? Do we know what their under/over is right now? Wasn't it like 7 or 8 prior to the draft? (or maybe I'm way off on that?) Btw, I'm a Rangers fan but I think the Devils are going to be great soon (maybe even this year). I think Jack Hughes is going to be an absolute superstar. I'm probably in the minority of Ranger fans but I really was hoping that you guys would take Kakko over him (though I obviously hope Kakko is as good as advertised). I hate that I have to root against Hughes. He seems like a terrific kid.
  21. I care less and less each year but that's because the NFL has increasingly been turning into the Arena League.
  22. Pretty sure that was the week after ND had a big win (I forget against who) to get the #1 spot. Then BC upset them the next week.
  23. I would have no issue with that whatsoever. Joe Douglas is the hire that I'm excited about. Gase is a "we'll see" to me as of right now.
