Why do we take a knee at the end of the first half instead of taking a shot? ??
We should've taken a knee in the 2 be half and tried to regroup for OT
I get the feeling Bowles is coaching for self preservation rather than trying to win a game.
Or he doesn't trust his team.
When the running game was stymied in the 2nd half where was McGuire

I thought exactly the same thing. End of the 1st half the momentum was swinging in our favour and I sorta fancied us to get into FG range at that point.

At the end though, we were seriously struggling and Miami were flying, had their tails up and the crowd was behind them for what seemed like the first time in the game. It wasn’t about the time for me but the way the game was going. Knee, regroup and OT was the sensible call for me.

  2. Very often in sport, winning is a habit and psychological. Had we gone the season 0-16 we may very well have been able to have picked up the QB (or safety) of our choosing but it also would have meant that the rest of the team were rubbish, gutless and used to losing. I’m not sure it would necessarily have been a good thing for this group.

There’ve been some good positives this season imo.

I'm either taking the QB or trading the pick to the highest bidder . Do you realize what folks were offering for Jimmy G and what they gave up for Goff ?

Oh I don't disagree with that at all. Unless of course there's some exceptional genuine top few picks talent in a position we need to upgrade.

A decent trade could really set us up for years to come though

So if Hack looks the part and the Jets still have a shot at he top QB, are you suggesting they punt ?

Guess it depends on how the cards fall and who is available/they like the look of. If they're sure about Hack being the part then they'd have to seriously consider whether they can afford to spend a first round pick on a QB

If Bowles actually handles the QB position the way you expect it he should be fired on the spot. If anything Hackenberg's performance was good enough to start from day 1 and learn himself into the role. Personality aside are people forgetting McClown is NOT a starting level QB. It is Fitzpatrick all over again. We are finally rebuilding dont toss it all away on some veteran retread.

Yes one way or another the Hack question needs to be answered by the 2018 draft

  6. I'm probably just a dumb Brit and whilst I understand that a safety isn't as sexy a pick as a QB, WR, RB etc, virtually all the experts had this guy in their top 3 players in the draft.

I understand that we need new players all over the field and that perhaps this isn't a position that gets people excited but the last thing we can afford to do is turn down a pretty much sure thing? The fact is that we could have our pick of any player in the NFL to join the Jets (never mind the draft) and we'd probably still suck next season.

If we were on the verge of the playoffs with a good roster, I could understand taking a bit of a gamble on a more exciting boom or bust player but we are miles away from that at the moment.

IMO, highly rated players with a great attitude is the way to go. It may not make for the most exciting of picks but slowly and surely, I think it'll pay dividends.
