  1. I am no Gase super fan nor do I want him fired. Please tell me what you are encouraged by what you've seen from Gase's offense. They scored 34 points against the Giants, Redskins, and Raiders. All bottom of the barrel. Grossly mishandled Le'Veon Bell. Bizzare handling of Bell with the flu, he is ordered to stay home when it appears he is healthy enough to play, then gives Bilal Powell obnoxiously more carries than in any other game with a healthy Bell. The only time we see the wildcat is in a meaningless game against the Bills with Bell of all people continuing the perplexing way he was handled. Sorry but I have know idea what Gase was doing this season.
  2. Watching Adam Gase he is quickly beginning to remind me of Bruce Coslet. Over the top arrogant with nothing to back it up, at war with the media, not like able, alienating star players (Coslet alienated Blair Thomas and Ken O’Brien amongst others), head scratching plays (Wildcat for the first time this year on 3d and 2 with Bell?) decisions. How they handled Le’Veon Bell was absurd. I would have felt so much better about going 6-2 down the stretch if it was Darnald and the offense that carried the team and not necessarily the defense. I think I know less about this team now than before the season started.
  3. I can see this. But the Giants never traded with the Jets before and that happened this season. Giants need to fill many holes as well so we have to expect the unexpected.
  4. I dont necessarily disagree. Sometimes the wins are more important than the draft position. What's intriguing is that in December, there is already 3 QBs that are predicted worthy of a top 8 pick. We already have our QB. We have so many holes to fill and a trade down could give us so much hope that with the correct players drafted we can turn this negativity around quicker.
  5. In recent weeks it appears that the role for Vincent Smith has grown where he has become a valued target for Darnald. The YAC in Baltimore was all Smith. I know Robbie stretches the field. Anyone know how Smith's speed is in comparison to Anderson? Im sure Anderson is faster but is Smith comparable? Wondering if the Jets are thinking of letting Anderson go, spending that money elsewhere and Vincent Smith steps into his role.
  6. If Thomas (and Young are gone) there might be a chance that one of the top 3 QBs are still on the board. Currently Burrow, Tags, and Herbert) are slated to go in the top 8. Figure by draft the hype will be even stronger for them. We might have a good chance of trading somewhere between 12-20 and land the next best OLINE prospect after Thomas.
  7. Same here, but there is at least hope with the unknown in Douglas. I'd also be ok, if we had no way to trade down, taking Chase Young, or the best OLINE-man or Wr.
  8. I cant blame you. I'm an older Jets fan myself. Truthfully, Darnald has kept me interested. He gives us a chance. I also think you are underestimating Ken O'Brien and Chad Pennington. Both were very good players, and with the correct players around them, gave us a chance to get to the playoffs where anything can happen. Worst case scenario is that if Darnald is only as good as O'Brien and Pennington it would at least give us a chance for the next ten plus years (barring injury)
  9. Andrew Thomas, OT Georgia is currently rated as the top OLINE prospect but a lot can change from now up to the draft. If we stay at pick #7 or somehow land a few picks closer I think we would be in prime position for a trade down, accumulate picks to truly have the resources to rebuild. Currently it looks like there are 3 QBs that are worthy of a top 5-7 pick (Burrows, Tagovaola, and Hebert). By the time the draft roles around and the QB hype is in full swing maybe even 1 or 2 more. We would be in prime position to trade with the Chargers, Raiders, Carolina, or anyone else that may be looking to land a potential franchise QB. If the top QBs go 1,2, and 3 (most likely through trades) , we will be in a great position to draft Chase Young and (hopefully) solve our edge rushing position or the top OLINE player or Wr.
  10. I hate thinking this way but I am ok with the Jets not getting a win here and next week (even though it would benefit Darnald and his continued growth). If we stay at pick #7 or somehow land a few picks closer we would be in prime position for a trade down. Currently it looks like there are 3 QBs that are worthy of a top 5-7 pick (Burrows, Tagovaola, and Hebert). By the time the draft roles around and the QB hype is in full swing maybe even 1 or 2 more. 11. And here's where it gets confusing. It was not Bell that requested to not play because he was so bedridden and sick, it was the Jets, Shouldn't the Jets be criticized somewhat for making a relatively healthy player sit out if he obviously wasn't bedridden?
  12. I find the use of Bell/lack of/ or just his over all talent level more debated among Jets fans than any other.
  13. I do. Didnt realize he has the 2nd most receptions. Pretty quiet. Was about to be critical of Gase for not involving him in the passing game enough.
  14. Football, baseball, bowling, some athlete......
  15. Great point, Bell hasnt made anyone around him better, but it only adds to the perplexity of this situation. So by all accounts second year Sam Darnald is better at making the OLINE more productive than Leveon Bell? Doesn't really add up.
  16. Hmmm, ok. But how? Yeah, I am not crazy about promoting his singing career and haven't read anything on him partying or bashing teammates. He seems to follow that up with proclaiming his support of the HC and team.
  17. But how are we going to lose his salary? From what was reported on WFAN this morning the cap hit would be 17 million. Cant see how anyone would trade for him knowing how much it will cost against the cap.
  18. I cant figure out if Bell is a diva or not. Always seems to say the right things
  19. He's 27 with a year off. You really think its his age that has slowed his productivity?
  20. Something is so not right with Gase/Bell/and the Jets. As the season is playing out it is becoming more clear that they are not on the same page. From Bell going from top offensive threat in the NFL to lack of carries and involvement in the offense, to the obnoxious amount of carries the RBs got on Sunday without Bell, to the flu that was serious enough for the Jets to make Bell inactive but not serious enough that he would be able to go bowling. Something is not right here. Is Gase the bad guy for not playing him enough throughout the season? Is Bell the bad guy behind the scenes and the bowling incident and lack of awareness of being scene in public is the start of exposing why Gase seems to not like him? How do you think this plays out?
  21. And not to mention he dealt with mono. A disease that depletes muscle, strength, energy, and compromises vital organs. On average it takes multiple months to fully recover. He did it playing a violent sport at the highest level..
  22. I love this NY Jets symbol. But even if the owner wanted to change things up he failed miserably with the current logo. The Mets incorporated the NY skyline, Liberty have the Statue of Liberty, New Jersey Devils incorporated the devil's horns on the NJ. We have the word "JETS" written. Brutal.
