  1. I really thought that Hackenburg would have taken some meaningful snaps in the NFL. While he wasnt on my radar during the draft so high, once we drafted him I thought it could work......
  2. My thought process is that we have X amount to spend this off season. Based on the current NFL market, it would cost the Jets somewhere from 10-15 mil per year for Robby. Knowing what we know about his ability up until this point and trying to project his continued progress, is it worth it? Or would it be better to elevate Vyncint Smith's role on the field and spend the money on an extra player in FA which we would not be able to do if we spend it on Robby,
  3. Pardon the confusion. Should we resign Robby Anderson or let Anderson walk, choose to use that money elsewhere and develop Vyncint Smith to a bigger role to fill Robby's role?
  4. Robbie Anderson is not for less than 10 million a year.
  5. Such a major roll of the dice if the Jets decide to let Robbie walk and commit to Smith. It is enticing for me to toy with the idea of letting Robbie walk only because Smith played so well. He really came out of nowhere and I cannot remember a negative play from him whether it was lining up as a wide receiver or on special teams
  6. Interesting. Do you think Vyncint Smith has shown enough to make Robbie expendable? I only really remember Smith making positive plays for us. Don't remember any drops. Im starting to think it might be better to spend the money elsewhere
  7. Should the Jets resign Robbie Anderson or replace him with Vyncint Smith and spend money elsewhere? Has Vyncint Smith showed you enough to warrent taking a chance on replacing Robbie Anderson with him?
  8. Great post. I totally agree. I cant figure out if i think Gase is competent or should totally be fired. Will make for a great off season
  9. Fans that underestimate the important of late round picks are not getting it. Its where teams build depth, something we are severely missing
  10. Again, I am not a Gase hater, we need him to succeed. I dont want to start over. Trying to look at this season objectively. I hear everything that you're saying, but the bottom line is that they finish dead last in the NFL in offense, DEAD LAST, and we have an offensive HC coach with Sam Darnald coming off an inspiring rookie season. Sorry but there is little excuse for this. Can you honestly say we have learned anything over the season with this team? Is Darnald legit? Is Bell our rn moving foward? Oline development? Wesco development? Possibly Vincent Smith is a player? We have so little idea of who they are. Gase was supposed to be a guru and take Donald into the next level. I get it, huge setback to overcome in mono, totally not underestimating that. But what about playing Kahill over Harrison? Not having an NFL caliber QB signed after seeing how bad it was after week 2 injury with Trevor Simion? Bell, Gase, flu fiasco? Questionable play calling all season that was topped off with a wildcat formation with Bell in a meaningless game? Wouldnt rational thinking want to see Darnald progress in a tight situation instead of a gimmick play ? All the injuries now with two organizations? Cryptic messages about wanting or not wanting Bell? Not being able to handle the media (now two organizations) who hold tremendous power in this town? The UTTER ASININE move of firing the GM AFTER hiring Gase is a tribute to how putrid our ownership truly is. Does Douglas truly like Gase as HC? Who really knows? He didnt hire him. Our head owner would rather be in England supporting Trump than the team that he owns. Woody Johnson is true reason for our failures in all of this and sadly going nowhere. IMHO, these are all awful signs, i hope im wrong
  11. I am no Gase super fan nor do I want him fired. Please tell me what you are encouraged by what you've seen from Gase's offense. They scored 34 points against the Giants, Redskins, and Raiders. All bottom of the barrel. Grossly mishandled Le'Veon Bell. Bizzare handling of Bell with the flu, he is ordered to stay home when it appears he is healthy enough to play, then gives Bilal Powell obnoxiously more carries than in any other game with a healthy Bell. The only time we see the wildcat is in a meaningless game against the Bills with Bell of all people continuing the perplexing way he was handled. Sorry but I have know idea what Gase was doing this season.
  12. Watching Adam Gase he is quickly beginning to remind me of Bruce Coslet. Over the top arrogant with nothing to back it up, at war with the media, not like able, alienating star players (Coslet alienated Blair Thomas and Ken O’Brien amongst others), head scratching plays (Wildcat for the first time this year on 3d and 2 with Bell?) decisions. How they handled Le’Veon Bell was absurd. I would have felt so much better about going 6-2 down the stretch if it was Darnald and the offense that carried the team and not necessarily the defense. I think I know less about this team now than before the season started.
  13. I can see this. But the Giants never traded with the Jets before and that happened this season. Giants need to fill many holes as well so we have to expect the unexpected.
  14. I dont necessarily disagree. Sometimes the wins are more important than the draft position. What's intriguing is that in December, there is already 3 QBs that are predicted worthy of a top 8 pick. We already have our QB. We have so many holes to fill and a trade down could give us so much hope that with the correct players drafted we can turn this negativity around quicker.
  15. In recent weeks it appears that the role for Vincent Smith has grown where he has become a valued target for Darnald. The YAC in Baltimore was all Smith. I know Robbie stretches the field. Anyone know how Smith's speed is in comparison to Anderson? Im sure Anderson is faster but is Smith comparable? Wondering if the Jets are thinking of letting Anderson go, spending that money elsewhere and Vincent Smith steps into his role.
  16. If Thomas (and Young are gone) there might be a chance that one of the top 3 QBs are still on the board. Currently Burrow, Tags, and Herbert) are slated to go in the top 8. Figure by draft the hype will be even stronger for them. We might have a good chance of trading somewhere between 12-20 and land the next best OLINE prospect after Thomas.
  17. Same here, but there is at least hope with the unknown in Douglas. I'd also be ok, if we had no way to trade down, taking Chase Young, or the best OLINE-man or Wr.
  18. I cant blame you. I'm an older Jets fan myself. Truthfully, Darnald has kept me interested. He gives us a chance. I also think you are underestimating Ken O'Brien and Chad Pennington. Both were very good players, and with the correct players around them, gave us a chance to get to the playoffs where anything can happen. Worst case scenario is that if Darnald is only as good as O'Brien and Pennington it would at least give us a chance for the next ten plus years (barring injury)
  19. Andrew Thomas, OT Georgia is currently rated as the top OLINE prospect but a lot can change from now up to the draft. If we stay at pick #7 or somehow land a few picks closer I think we would be in prime position for a trade down, accumulate picks to truly have the resources to rebuild. Currently it looks like there are 3 QBs that are worthy of a top 5-7 pick (Burrows, Tagovaola, and Hebert). By the time the draft roles around and the QB hype is in full swing maybe even 1 or 2 more. We would be in prime position to trade with the Chargers, Raiders, Carolina, or anyone else that may be looking to land a potential franchise QB. If the top QBs go 1,2, and 3 (most likely through trades) , we will be in a great position to draft Chase Young and (hopefully) solve our edge rushing position or the top OLINE player or Wr.
  20. I hate thinking this way but I am ok with the Jets not getting a win here and next week (even though it would benefit Darnald and his continued growth). If we stay at pick #7 or somehow land a few picks closer we would be in prime position for a trade down. Currently it looks like there are 3 QBs that are worthy of a top 5-7 pick (Burrows, Tagovaola, and Hebert). By the time the draft roles around and the QB hype is in full swing maybe even 1 or 2 more. 21. And here's where it gets confusing. It was not Bell that requested to not play because he was so bedridden and sick, it was the Jets, Shouldn't the Jets be criticized somewhat for making a relatively healthy player sit out if he obviously wasn't bedridden?
  22. I find the use of Bell/lack of/ or just his over all talent level more debated among Jets fans than any other.
  23. I do. Didnt realize he has the 2nd most receptions. Pretty quiet. Was about to be critical of Gase for not involving him in the passing game enough.
