  1. The Jets never considered going OL in the 1st round. Ever. It's clear that JD had DE WR and CB as priorities. A "6th" guy on a 5 man line was not gonna happen when you need help all over the place. He just used 1st rounders on Mekhi and AVT. Yes it's true he bet Mekhi would be fine. He lost that bet, but maybe the thought process was that he could find a RT with a mid rounder like Mitchell, or a fill-in vet. Thankfully we're talking RT abd not replacing a LT.
  2. No reason to campare or choose. We luckily have both! Loved Moore last year, and Wilson was my favorite receiver in the draft. Both have similar traits. Moore can break more tackles. Wilson can go get a higher contested pass. That's all I got.
  3. You guys here at the draft forum are awesome for me to sit back and read insightful, pure football sh*tt. I have no love for any particular school (maybe Louisville, my bros school) but love the college game for many reasons, but mainly to find my next Freeman Mcneil, Leon Washington or Bilal Powell. You guys give me a focus when scouting a new Jet. Thanks.... and carry on...
  4. So true. I don't have the actual stats but i bet the Defense had three LBers no more than 25% of the snaps.
  5. I like him as a fit as well, but JD and the coaches haven't been in any hurry to add LBers. They've had opportunities to do so both in FA and the draft, but ignored it thus far. They may just feel like the Sherwood, Hamsa, and Williams trio are going to be just fine.
  6. Zach Tom is my wish. Overview Center prospect who spent the last two seasons at left tackle. Tom was extremely impressive in pass protection at tackle despite a lack of desired size or length, but he's likely headed back to center in the pros. He plays with technique and plus body control, but his aggression level is a little lacking in the run game and his mass is below average. Tom could be a priority for teams with leaky interior protection. He has Day 3 value as an above-average backup with eventual starting potential. Strengths Excellent intelligence. Three-year starter with good durability. Makes fluid block adjustments in space. Easy slide from block to block on combinations. Good base width and hip flexion into defender as base blocker. Utilizes firm, independent hands in pass protection. Throws punch with intent and quickness. Fluid and fast in mirroring a counter. Pass protection from tackle position was eye-opening. Weaknesses Slender through his waist and hips. Catches contact at the point of attack. Needs to become more violent into contact. Below-average mass to base up against power. Needs to prove he can anchor against an NFL nose tackle. Susceptible to push-pull technique. Needs to guard against oversetting.
  7. Not a bad idea actually. Trade for two 2023 3rds for these two 4ths. Depth at LBer? Hamsa and Sherwood in their 2nd year, surely both will be more ready physically than they were last year. Free Safety? Pinnock and possibly MC2 are candidates. Let's not forget about Ashtyn Davis. Depth at S is overblown.
  8. Moving forward i would love to see them pair a Breece Hall or Spiller qith MC... but don't see JD picking a RB until the 4th rd. LBer is next on teh menu.
  9. I was bummed out passing on Thibs, and especially when the vaGiants took him at 5. But trading up for JJ made it all better. Loved Garrett Wilson from the start. I didn't think CB was a need, but i trust JD and Saleh. Sauce is a fine prospect.
  10. Gm Jetnation. I've narrowed my top 4 big board. Hutch Thibs Jameson Williams If we can't trade out, take Jermaine Johnson.
  11. I will puke if we take a CB and OL at 4 and 10.
  12. I'm definitely in the minority on this. I don't want to give up premium picks AND pay big big bucks to any WR. Draft a WR or two, to pair with Elijah Moore and the others. We may never see Moore's ceiling if the Jets offense is force-feeding a high priced WR. I'm actually surprised that JDoug has taken the Hill/Deebo route. Sometimes the best trades are ones you don't make.
  13. 1 Kayvon Thibodaux- Edge. Please let him drop to 4. 1 Garrett Wilson- WR. PERFECT for the ML Offense. * I would have an incredibly tough time passing on Jameson Williams. 2 Devonte Wyatt- DT. Surprised he was available here. Couldn't pass. 2 Breece Hall- RB dynamic duo with Michael Carter. Dreamy. (If not, then Spiller) 3 Chad Muma- LB. Instant starter. 4 Jeremy Ruckert- TE. Couldn't resist his potential. Love him here. 4 JT Woods- S. Stole this guy from Paradis 5 Zach Tom- C. This is where C should be drafted. Gets to develop for a year and whalah...starter next year. 5 Max Mitchell- OT. Backs up Becton and Fant. Possible future starter. * really wanted a second WR in the 5-6 range. Maybe we add a 6th along the way.
  14. It was bound to happen. They'll put out another video update on his progress by april 21. After that the Jet community will want to trade up to get him. Me? I'm a Garrett Wilson guy. But i trust JD. If he rolls with Williams at 4 I'd be all in.
  15. Brown. But I prefer to draft 2 guys. Davis Moore Berrios Mims Wilson Pickens. Done. This team is poised to run the sh*t out the ball with the upgrades at TE and the return of Becton. These 6 guys are enough.
  16. Without a passrush EVERY secondary in the NFL gets abused. I feel you are undrerrating the collection of CBs we have. Especially Echols.
  17. I strongly disagree CB is a need. At this point with the development of Hall, Echols, MC2 and Guidry, along with signing of DJ Reed...how is CB a need?
  18. Don't want... Any CB and OL. Not necessary this draft. We're good. Hamilton in the 1st round. Burks in the top 10. Karlaftis or Walker at 4.
  19. I understand your point about RB not being a need. At the moment we have 4 picks in the top 38. Edge, WR, CB, LB. If JD can trade down and pick up a 5th pick in that range, a RB like Breece Hall to pair with MC, can supercharge the offense quickly. I wouldn't mind this scenario at all.
